A new segmentation algorithm for the forest fire image based on Fractional Brownian motion and Contourlet transform is ***,the algorithm decomposes the image into several sub-bands of multi-scale,location and multi-direction by Contourlet *** Brownian motion model is performed for low frequency sub-band,and then estimate the Hurst coefficient of each frequency coefficient in the *** coefficient used as the characteristics of flame parameters for image *** results show that the algorithm can segment flame effectively,and improve the efficiency of segmentation for forest fire image.

Fuel moisture monitoring is an important component of fire danger rating system in fire management. This paper describes the application of NDVI images in monitoring potential fire danger and analyses the relationship between MODIS-NDVI and fire weather index. The series of weather data in Beijing are used in this analysis including fire seasons in spring during 2004 to 2005. Canadian fire Weather Index (FWI) is selected in this study, because it can properly estimate moisture conditions of live fuel. Fine fuel moisture, drought code and FWI values are generated by using the squared inverse distance algorithm. Strong correlations have previously been observed between FWI variables and NDVI data. The MODIS-NDVI images can be used in fire management as component related with live fuel moisture and fire danger.

forest fags in China are very serious in recent years. Few fires occurred formerly in Southeast Tibet, but now forest fires in this region occur frequently. This natural environment of the region is unique. forest fires are very easy to occur in the dry seasons due to the influence of the southwest monsoon, Because over-mature forest in this region accounts for much proportion, the forest ecosystem is frail. Once destructed by forest fags, it is very extremely difficult to restore. fire season in this area is in winter and spring. But in the special year, forest fires can also occur in the hot summer. fire Season lasts from October to next February, even to April in an individual arid year. Most of the fires in this area are surface fires, and crown fires can occur after long time drought.

This paper proposes a new color-based method for forest fire segmentation from video *** kinds of color features including intensity value and color distribution are *** segmentation based on V value of HSV color model,the lower threshold is defined from experience,and the higher threshold value is computed automatically,thus the possible fire regions can be divided into two subsets *** segmentation based on color distribution,fire color samples are collected and then projected onto HS,HV and SV *** pixel can be decided as fire or not quickly by checking whether its color values lie within the distribution ranges of the three 2D planes at the same *** fire regions are generated from these two segmentation *** method is tested on some video images with fire and the results are encouraging.

Two categories of spread models used for forest fire simulation, namely contiguous cellular model and wave propagation model,were strongly complemented each other in their advantages and limitations, which was utilized in the paper to design a spread model based on computer graphic *** the new model,states of fire spread are expressed as a predefined gray level image.A series of fire shapes stored in metagraphic set are written to the gray level image according to given rules of raster operation while simulating the wave propagation of fire ***-line flood-fill algorithm is used to deal with the spread near some geographical elements with complex topological *** of fire shapes is translated into the combined transformation of graphic rotation and *** advantages and deficiencies of the model are discussed,including its effect on local distortion and *** primary theoretical analysis and a calculation case,it is deduced that the new model can accomplish the simulation for forest fire faster than the previous models by more than one order of magnitude,while other performances of simulation are highly improved as ***,it can provide forest fire fighting with precise and overall predicted diagram of fire development in real time,not restricted by complexities of fire behaviors or geographical elements.
