BACKGROUND As shown in the statistics from the World Health Organization,it is estimated that approximately 75000 new cases of cervical cancer occur every year in China.In 2008,33000 people died of cervical cancer in China.It is proven that most women are at risk of cervical cancer.The progression from human papillomavirus(HPV)infection to cervical cancer can be several years or decades,which offers a unique opportunity to prevent cancer.AIM To observe the changes in ThinPrep cytology tests(TCT)and HPV infection in patients who were detected to be positive via TCT screening of cervical cancer and further explore the biopsy results.METHODS This paper performed a follow-up study on 206 cervical cancer screening-positive patients of 12231 total cases from our previous research.We conducted an observational study on the TCT results based on the interpretation of The Bethesda System.RESULTS Over a 5-year period,10 cases received consistent follow-up.The proportions of cases in which glandular epithelial lesions were detected increased over the follow-up period.The differences between the years were statistically significant(Pfollow-up study for 5 years to 9 years revealed a tendency to change from squamous epithelial lesions to glandular epithelial lesions and an improvement of the disease(which had not been reported previously).The HPV test indicated a high negative conversion ratio of the viral infection.However,the follow-up cases were not found to have persistent infection of high-risk HPV.Therefore,early intervention of cervical cancer screening is necessary.Low re-examination compliance,patient education,and preventive measures should be enhanced.

P300 change and cognitive behavioral therapy in subjects with Internet addiction disorder A 3-month follow-up study

Event-related potential studies of cognitive function in addiction behaviors have focused on the P300 event-related potential component. The current study investigated the association between P300 component and Internet addiction disorder. We found that individuals with Internet addiction disorder exhibited significantly longer P300 latencies than controls （N2： P = 0.035; P3a： P = 0.031 P3b： P = 0.043） and similar P300 amplitudes compared to control participants. After 3 months of cognitive behavioral therapy, P300 latencies decreased significantly in the P3a and P3b （P3a： P = 0.045; P3b： P = 0.062）. These results suggest that deficits in cognitive function may be involved in Internet addiction disorder, and that clinical psychological treatment may be effective.

The First Case of Free Radial Forearm Skin Flap:A 40-Year follow-up study

Background The radial forearm skin flap(RFSF)was first introduced by the Chinese scholar Guofan Yang and has since been used for nearly 40 years.The many advantages of RFSF have been investigated in this study.Case presentation In this case,a female patient underwent RFSF surgery in 1979.In 2016 and 2018,two interviews were held to evaluate her subjective postoperative experience.In addition,overall donor site evaluation was conducted based on general health checkups and tests;tests for appearance,tactile sensitivity,muscle strength,and motor function;and CTA.Results The flap survived well,and the donor site recovered without hand necrosis in the 1970s.In 2018,the patient was in good health condition and expressed her satisfaction with the surgery.The patient did not suffer from any postoperative complications such as diminished sensation of the donor site or donor site dysfunction;in the evaluation of hand and finger function,there was no point where functional reduction of the donor site was noted.CTA revealed compensatory blood supply with enlargement in the diameter of the ulnar and interosseous artery.Conclusion After a nearly 40-year follow-up,the patient who underwent the first free radial forearm flap transplantation expressed satisfaction with the operative outcomes.The examination showed good results at the recipient site with little donor site deformities and good compensatory blood supply.

Long-term prognosis and prognostic determinants of patients with first attack of mild and moderate ischemia at Beijing community hospitals

A total of 710 patients with first-ever ischemic stroke were consecutively recruited between January 2003 and December 2004 from five community hospitals/stations in five districts of Beijing, China. As of December 31, 2008, a total of 2 477 person-years were followed-up. During the five-year follow-ups, 117 adverse events occurred, including all-cause death and acute cardiovascular events （recurrent stroke, acute myocardial infarction, and sudden death）. The five-year cumulative mortality rate was 2.18/100 person-years （54 cases）, with 3.88/100 person-years （96 cases） of acute cardiovascular events and 3.02/100 person-years （75 cases） of recurrent stroke. Multiple factor analyses using the Cox proportional hazards ratio models showed that age, diabetes, and dependence of activities of daily living were independent predictors for death, acute cardiovascular disease events, or recurrent stroke. The results demonstrated that recurrent stroke was a major vascular disease that affected the prognosis of mild or moderate stroke patients. Secondary prevention of stroke patients should include active management of vascular risk factors and rehabilitation.

A prospective longitudinal study for latent tuberculosis infection in hospital in Beijing evaluating a T-cell-based assay health-care workers in a general

Background The health-care workers （HCWs） are at high risk of acquiring infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The objectives of this study were to compare the performance of the T-SPOT.TB and tuberculin skin test （TST） for latent tuberculosis infection （LTBI）, evaluate diagnostic concordance and risk factors for LTBI, and observe the progression to active tuberculosis （TB） disease among HCWs in a general hospital in Beijing. Methods The prospective cohort study enrolled HCWs in a tertiary general hospital in Beijing, China, to evaluate LTBI with T-SPOT.TB and TST. The subjects were evaluated every 12 months during the 60-month follow-up. Results Of 101 participating HCWs, 96 and 101 had valid TST and T-SPOT.TB results, respectively. Twenty-nine （28.7%, 95% confidence interval （C/）, 19.9%-37.5%） were defined as positive by T-SPOT.TB and 53 （55.2%, 95% CI, 45.2%-64.9%） were defined as positive by TST （using a ≥10 mm cutoff）. An agreement between the two tests was poor （57.3%, K=0.18, 95% CI, 0.01%-0.52%）. In multJvariate analysis, direct exposure to sputum smear-positive TB patients was a significant risk factor for a positive T-SPOT.TB （OR 5.76; 95% CI 1.38-24.00）. Pooled frequency of antigen- specific IFN-y secreting T-cells for subjects who reported direct contact with sputum smear-positive TB patients was significantly higher than that for participants without direct contact （P=0.045）. One of 20 participants with positive result of T-SPOT.TB and TST developed active TB at 24-month follow-up.Conclusion T-SPOT.TB is a more accurate, targeted method of diagnosing LTBI than TST.

Modified culotte stenting for treatment of complex coronary bifurcation lesions： immediate and 9-month outcomes in a pilot study

Background The optimal stenting strategy for the treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions （CBLs） remains uncertain. The present study observed technical feasibility and reliability, 9-month clinical and angiographic outcomes of the modified culotte stenting （MCS） in the treatment of CBLs with drug-eluting stents. Methods A total of 34 consecutive patients with CBLs that required stenting the parent vessel （PV）, the main branch （MB） and the side branch （SB） were included. All patients were first assigned to receive MCS for CBL interventions （per MCS）, and might be switched to receive the double-kissing-crush stenting （DKS） in case of temporally acute branch occlusion （per protocol）. Results The immediate angiographic or procedural success was achieved in 33/34 （97%） lesions （patients） per MCS, 34/34 （100%） lesions （patients） per protocol with 100% successful final balloon kissing. The long-term clinical success at 9 months was 94% per MCS and 94% per protocol, only 2 patients had reoccurrence of angina but none of them needed target lesion revascularization. There were no procedure-related biomarker elevation, no in-stent thrombosis peri-procedurally and at 9-month follow-up. Quantitative coronary angiography data at 9 months showed that in-stent （6%） or in-segment （6%） binary stenosis was infrequent, and minimal lumen diameter was significantly reduced but late lumen loss was acceptable with only （0.10_-＇_-~.14） mm for PV, （0.21＋0.23） mm for MB and （0.27^-0.32） mm for SB. Conclusions MCS for treatment of CBLs that required dual-stent implantation was technically easier and safer, readily to complete final balloon kissing, and was associated with high immediate success and optimal 9-month outcomes.

BACKGROUND Myocarditis refers to a variety of myocardial inflammatory lesions. A variety of factors such as infection and physical and chemical factors can cause myocarditis.Depending on the severity of myocardial damage, myocarditis patients can manifest heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and even sudden death. Here we present a case of viral myocarditis that mimicked acute coronary syndrome.CASE SUMMARY A middle-aged male patient presented with chest pain and elevated troponin I after a flu-like infection. This patient had a history of hypertension and a habit of alcohol and tobacco use. Electrocardiography showed typical changes in acute myocardial infarction, with the T-wave increasing. Coronary angiogram revealed no stenosis. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed edema of the middle and apical septal and apical anterior walls on T2-weighted images and the T1 mapping. Late gadolinium enhancement of the middle and apical septal and apical anterior walls could be found. Rubella virus immunoglobulin G and immunoglobulin M antibodies were abnormally elevated. The patient was given antiviral and antibiotic treatments, and serum biomarkers and electrocardiograph returned to normal after 5 d of treatment. After one-year follow-up, the patient showed no symptoms, and cardiac magnetic resonance showed that myocardial thickness was significantly thinner than before, and fibrosis was less than before.CONCLUSIONThis case illustrates the utility of cardiac magnetic resonance for diagnosis of infarction-like myocarditis when the angiogram is normal.
