In deep underground engineering,rock burst and other dynamic disasters are prone to occur due to stress concentration and energy accumulation in surrounding *** control of dynamic disasters requires bolts and cables with high strength,high elongation,and high energy-absorbing ***,a constant resistance energy-absorbing(CREA)material is *** this study,the dynamic characteristics of the new material are obtained via the drop hammer tests and the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB)tests of the new material and two common bolt(CB)materials widely used in the *** test results of drop hammer test and SHPB test show that the percentage elongation of CREA material is more than 2.64 and 3.22 times those of the CB material,and the total impact energy acting on CREA material is more than 18.50 and 21.84 times,respectively,indicating that the new material has high elongation and high energy-absorbing ***,the CREA bolts and cables using the new material are developed,which are applied in roadways with high stress and strong dynamic *** field monitoring results show that CREA bolts and cables can effectively control the surrounding rock deformation and ensure engineering safety.

Unknown geology ahead of the tunnel boring machine(TBM)brings a large safety risk for tunnel *** ahead-prospecting using TBM drilling noise as a source can achieve near-real-time detection,meeting the requirements of TBM rapid *** wavefield retrieval is the key data processing step for the efficient utilization of TBM drilling *** traditional solution is based on cross-correlation to extract reflected waves,but the reference waves remain in the result,disturbing the imaging and interpre-tation of the adverse *** solve this problem,the deep learning method was introduced in wavefield retrieval to improve the accu-racy of geological *** trained a deep neural network(DNN)with its strong nonlinear mapping capability to transform seismic data from TBM drilling noise to data from the active *** issue lies in its features for this specific tunnel task,including the decay of the seismic signal with time and the incomplete spatial ***,we improved a classical DNN with the time constraint as an additional input,and an additional pre-decoder to enlarge the receptive ***,a loss function weighted by the ground truth and time constraint is improved to achieve an accurate retrieval of the effective signal,considering the little effective information in tunnel ***,the workflow of the proposed method was given,and a dataset designed with reference to the field case was employed to train the *** proposed method accurately retrieved the reflection signal with higher dominant frequen-cies,which helped improve the accuracy of *** simulations and imaging on typical geological models show that the pro-posed method can suppress reference waves and get more accurate results with fewer *** proposed method has been applied in the Gaoligongshan Tunnel and imaged two abnormal zones,providing meaningful geological information for TBM drilling and tunnel construction

One of the promising and emerging enhanced oil recovery techniques in both sandstones and carbonates is engineered water injection(EWI).However,few studies discussed the field-scale applications of this technique in heterogeneous carbonate *** paper is an extension of our previous work of the EWI technology at *** research numerically investigates heterogeneity effect on EWI technique in carbonates at field-scale using five-spot *** synthetic five-spot sector models were considered including homogeneous,heterogeneous with permeability channeling,and heterogeneous with gravity *** results showed that EWI improves both volumetric and displacement sweep efficiencies compared to conventional formation water injection(FWI)for all models ***,tracer method is recommended for better estimation of volumetric sweep efficiency as opposed to fractional flow ***,secondary EWI outperforms other techniques including secondary FW and tertiary *** addition,the observed delay in tertiary EWI can be reduced by increasing well injection pressure and sulfate concentration in the engineered *** optimum sulfate concentration of 25,000 ppm is recommended for achieving the highest oil recovery by *** study gives more insight into understanding the performance of the EWI technique at *** for boosting the performance of this technique have been discussed,which assure more certainty and lower risk.

TSC prediction and dynamic control of BOF steelmaking with state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning methods

Mathematical(data-driven)models based on state-of-the-art(SOTA)machine learning and deep learning models and data collected from 12,786 heats were established to predict the values of temperature,sample,and carbon(TSC)test,including temperature of molten steel(TSC-Temp),carbon content(TSC-C)and phosphorus content(TSC-P),which made prepa-ration for eliminating the TSC *** maximize the prediction accuracy of the proposed approach,various models with different inputs were implemented and compared,and the best models were applied to the production process of a Hesteel Group steelmaking plant in China in the *** number of tabular features(hot metal information,scrap,additives,blowing practices,and preset values)was expanded,and time series(off-gas profiles and blowing practice curves)that could reflect the entire steelmaking process were introduced as ***,the latest machine learning models(LightGBM,CatBoost,TabNet,and NODE)were used to make predictions with tabular features,and the best coefficient of determination R^(2)values obtained for TSC-P,TSC-C and TSC-Temp predictions were 0.435(LightGBM),0.857(Cat-Boost)and 0.678(LightGBM),respectively,which were higher than those of classic models(backpropagation and support vector machine).Then,making predictions was performed by using SOTA time series regression models(SCINet,DLinear,Informer,and MLSTM-FCN)with original time series,SOTA image regression models(NesT,CaiT,ResNeXt,and GoogLeNet)with resized time series,and the proposed Concatenate-Model and Parallel-Model with both tabular features and time *** optimization and comparisons,it was finally determined that the Concatenate-Model with MLSTM-FCN,SCINet and Informer as feature extractors performed the best,and its R^(2)values for predicting TSC-P,TSC-C and TSC-Temp reached 0.470,0.858 and 0.710,*** field test accuracies for TSC-P,TSC-C and TSC-Temp were 0.459,0.850 and 0.685,respectively.A related importance analysis was carri

Soil flame disinfestation(SFD) is a form of physical disinfestation that can be used both in greenhouses and on field crops. Its use for soil disinfestation in different crop growing conditions makes it increasingly attractive for controlling soilborne pathogens and weeds. But little is known about the effect on weeds and soilbrone diseases. This study reports on greenhouses and field crops in China that determined the efficacy of SFD to control weeds, nematodes and fungi. It also determined the impact of SFD on the soil physical and chemical properties(water content, bulk density, NO3^–-N content, NH4^+-N content, conductivity and organic matter) in three field trials. A second generation SFD machine was used in these trials. SFD treatment significantly reduced weeds(>87.8%) and root-knot nematodes(Meloidogyne incognita)(>98.1%). Plant height and crop yield was significantly increased with SFD treatment. NO3^–-N and NH4^+-N increased after the SFD treatment, and there was also an increase in soil conductivity. Water content, bulk density and organic matter decreased significantly in the soil after the SFD treatment compared to the control. Soil flame disinfestation is a potential technique for controlling weeds and diseases in greenhouses or in fields. SFD is a non-chemical, safe, environmentally-friendly soil disinfection method.

Seismic forward-prospecting in tunnels is an important step to ensure excavation safety. Nowadays, most advanced imaging techniques in seismic exploration involve calculating the solution of elastic wave equation in a certain coordinate system. However, considering the cylindrical geometry of common tunnel body, Cartesian coordinate system seemingly has limited applicability in tunnel seismic forwardprospecting. To accurately simulate the seismic signal received in tunnels, previous imaging method using decoupled non-conversion elastic wave equation is extended from Cartesian coordinates to cylindrical coordinates. The proposed method preserves the general finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)scheme in Cartesian coordinates, except for a novel wavefield calculation strategy addressing the singularity issue inherited at the cylindrical axis. Moreover, the procedure of cylindrical elastic reverse time migration(CERTM) in tunnels is introduced based on the decoupled non-conversion elastic wavefield. Its imaging effect is further validated via numerical experiments on typical tunnel models. As indicated in the synthetic examples, both the PP-and SS-images could clearly show the geological structure in front of the tunnel face without obvious crosstalk artifacts. Migration imaging using PP-waves can present satisfactory results with higher resolution information supplemented by the SS-images. The potential of applying the proposed method in real-world cases is demonstrated in a water diversion tunnel. In the end, we share our insights regarding the singularity treatment and further improvement of the proposed method.
