Investigation on farmers'Willingness to Participate in Rural Non-point Source Pollution Control in Nantong and Analysis of Its Influencing Factors

Based on the questionnaire survey of 337 farmers in 8 villages in Rugao City,Jiangsu Province,the gender,age and educational level of the main able-bodied people of farm households,the characteristics of farmers’production and living behaviors,farmers’cognition of rural non-point source pollution,and farmers’willingness to pay for rural non-point source pollution control and its influencing factors were *** results show that to protect the rural ecological environment,most farmers are willing to participate in rural non-point source pollution control,but the annual cost of rural non-point source pollution control is low,and the number of volunteer days is *** grass-roots party organizations should stimulate farmers’willingness to participate in rural non-point source pollution control,give full play to the role of the branch as a fighting fortress,and build a mechanism for Party building to lead rural non-point source pollution control.

Based on CNKI core journals and CSSCI database, "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" were used as the key words to summarize 20 core articles and CSSCI articles with "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" as the key words from 2015 to 2020, so as to let more researchers have a deeper understanding and grasp of China s current problems of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers". Through the method of comparative analysis of studies, the problems that need to be solved in the work of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" were discussed, so that other scholars can further clarify the research results and experience of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", so as to deepen the reform of rural land system and steadily promote the work of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" in the future. This study can provide thinking and reference for deepening the reform of rural land system and steadily promoting the work of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers".

This paper illustrates three developmental stages of the functional transformation of western governments characterized by different extent of state involvement in economic *** investigates the functional role of nation-state in urbanization process in the context of western advanced economies with a particular focus on the laws and regulations,delineating the subjects,objectives,operational procedure,approval system,compensation standard and so on in relation to land *** also discusses the direction of the adjustment of state functions in China along three lines,including the transformation from political government to economic government,from direct management to indirect management and from comprehensive government to service-oriented and limited *** paper probes into the roles that Chinese government should play in the urbanization process of land-lost peasants in terms of institutional innovation,optimal utilization of land compensation and related rules and ***,it provides policy recommendations for the establishment of three-level state functional networks in order to address the challenge posed by amounting number of land-lost peasants.

Based on field research data of farmers in Zhejiang Province, the authors analyzed factors influencing farmers' participation in forest farmers cooperatives (hereafter referred to as FFCs) by the binary logistic regression model. Results show that understanding of farmers about cooperatives has a great influence on their behavior of participation in FFCs. Besides, educational level of householders and existing member scale of cooperatives also have significant influence on farmers' behavior of participation in cooperatives. Therefore, it is required to strengthen propaganda of cooperatives, deepen their understanding of cooperatives; cultivate new high quality farmers to provide talents for development of cooperatives; establish incentive mechanism to encourage farmers to participate in cooperatives.

farmers in traditional China have formed the cultural psychology of being reluctant to move from native land and hate to change during the long- term closed production and life. This has exerted negative effect on the values cultivation of farmers today,who possess weak democratic consciousness,low legal spirit and cultural quality as well as strong antagonistic psychology. Measures should be carried out to cultivate their modern values. Firstly,construction of villagers' self-governance system should be stressed. Secondly,political socialization should be perfected to improve farmers' political culture. Furthermore,channels of political participation should be widened in order to gradually promote the ordered political participation of farmers.

Farmer-pastoralist conflicts represent a significant challenge for rural communities and the Tanzanian *** study objectives were to(i)determine existing forms of conflicts and(ii)identify drivers underlying resource use *** manuscript is based on a study that adopted a cross-sectional research design whereby data were collected from 373 randomly selected respondents from Kilosa and Kiteto districts,Tanzania,while primary data were collected through interviews,observations and focus group discussions,secondary data were gathered from government reports and *** data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Science(SPSS)version *** statistical analysis was carried out for quantitative *** analysis was used to extract component factors on drivers and forms of conflicts,whereas content analysis was used to analyse the qualitative ***,study results show that there were three main forms of conflict namely farmers versus pastoralists over village boundaries;farmers versus pastoralists over livestock routes and farmers versus farmers over the *** addition,four main drivers underlying resource use conflicts were identified namely crop damage by livestock;inefficiency of government officials in taking action to diffuse conflicts;excessively large herds of cattle and *** is therefore recommended that pastoralists should be provided with essential services such as water in order to minimize movement of their livestock herds from their designated villages to other areas in search of *** would,in the long run,minimise crop damage which has been a major source of *** addition,proper land use planning is recommended to minimize resource use conflicts.
