An experiment with easy, repeatable management was carried out to demonstrate Microcystis bloom formation from natural phytoplankton communities. This was achieved in warm season by putting eutrophic, high chl a content water with a natural phytoplankton assemblage（no cyanobacteria bloom） containing Microcystis into colorless transparent glass jars outdoors for a few days and then with nutrients enrichment. In the experiment, water of 3.5-4.5 mg/L TN, 0.3-0.4 mg/L TP and 120-160 μg/L planktonic chl a from a pond was put into two jars on 12 June 2007. On 25 June, net addition of 3.1 mg/L NO3-N and 0.45 mg/L PO4-P was put into one jar, and by 4 July, a Microcystis bloom had occurred on the surface water of the enriched jar, but not in the other. On 5 July, the nutrients addition was repeated, and subsequently the Microcystis bloom became more significant. On 8 July, the same concentration of nutrients was added to the remaining jar, and by 10 July, a Microcystis bloom had also occurred in the second jar. The nutrients enrichment provides a chance for the Microcystis out-competing the other algae from natural eutrophic water rich of phytoplankton. The experiment demonstrates an easy and repeatable method of achieving a Microcystis bloom from natural phytoplankton communities, which may be useful for the further study of bloom mechanisms.

simulation of petroleum phase behavior in injection and production process of underground gas storage in a gas reservoir

On the basis of analyzing the fluid phase behavior during the transformation from gas reservoir to gas storage,a mathematical model and an experimental simulation method are established to describe the oil-gas phase behavior during the whole injection-production process of gas storage.The underground gas storage in the Liaohe Shuang 6 gas reservoir with oil rim is taken as a typical example to verify the reliability and accuracy of the mathematical model and reveal characteristics and mechanisms of fluid phase behavior.In the gas injection stage of the gas storage,the phase behavior is characterized by mainly evaporation and extraction and secondarily dissolution and diffusion of gas in the cap to oil in the oil rim of the reservoir;the gas in gas cap increases in light component content,decreases in contents of intermediate and heavy components,and increases in density and viscosity.The oil of the ring decreases in content of heavy components,increases in contents of light and intermediate components,decreases in density and viscosity,and increases in volume factor and solution gas oil ratio.In the stable operation stage of periodic injection-production of gas storage,the phase behavior shows that the evaporation and extraction capacity of injection gas in the cap to oil rim is weakened step by step,the phase behavior gradually changes into dissolution and diffusion.The gas in gas cap decreases in content of intermediate components,increases in content of light components slowly,and becomes lighter;but changes hardly in density and viscosity.The oil in the oil rim increases in content of heavy components,decreases in content of intermediate components,rises in density and viscosity,and drops in volume factor and solution gas oil ratio.

Operation optimization of plugged screen cleanup by rotary water jetting

The rotary water jetting is one of the most important techniques for horizontal well cleanup.The jet flow is used to remove plugging particles from sand control screens to recover their permeability.Currently,the operation optimization of this technique depends mainly on experience due to absence of applicable evaluation and design models for removing plugging materials.This paper presents an experimental setup to simulate the cleanup process of plugged screens by rotary water jetting on the surface and to evaluate the performance of a jetting tool.Using real plugged screens pulled from damaged wells,a series of tests were performed,and the qualitative relationships between the cleanup efficiency and various operational parameters,such as the type of fluids used,flow rate,mode of tool movement,etc.,were obtained.The test results indicated that the cleanup performance was much better when the rotary jetting tool moved and stopped periodically for a certain time than that when it reciprocated at a constant speed.To be exact,it was desirable for the rotary jetting tool to move for 1.5-2 m and stop for 2-4 min,which was called the ＂move-stop-move＂ mode.Good cleanup performance could be obtained at high flow rates,and the flow rate was recommended to be no lower than 550-600 L/min.The test results also indicated that complex mud acid was better than clean water in terms of cleanup performance.Good cleanup efficiency and high screen permeability recovery could be achieved for severely plugged screens.Rotary jetting is preferred for the cleanup of horizontal wells with severely plugged screens,and the screen permeability recovery ratio may reach 20％ if optimized operation parameters were used.

＜正＞Flow properties of waxy crude oils,particularly the beneficiated waxy crude oils,are sensitive to shear history that the crude oil experienced,called the shear history effect.To simulate this shear history effect accurately is vital to pipeline design and operation.It has been demonstrated by our previous that the energy dissipation or entropy generation due to viscous flow in the shear process is a suitable parameter for simulating the shear history effect.In order to further verify the reliability of this approach, experimental simulations were conducted for three PPD-beneficiated waxy crude oils transported through the China West Crude Oil Pipeline,a most complicated long-distance-crude-oil-pipeline technically and operationally so far in China.The simulations were made by using a stirred vessel and with the energy dissipation of viscous flow as the shear simulation parameter.Comparison between the flow properties of crude oils obtained from field test and experimental simulations,it is found that the gel points and viscosities from experimental simulations are in good agreement with the field data.
