Aiming at the fact that the rotor winding inter-turn weak faults can hardly be detected due to the strong electromagnetic coupling effect in the excitation system,an interval observer based on current residual is ***,the mechanism of the inter-turn short circuit of the rotor winding in the excitation system is modeled under the premise of stable working conditions,and electromagnetic decoupling and system simplification are carried out through Park *** interval observer is designed based on the current residual in the two-phase coordinate system,and the sensitive and stable conditions of the observer is *** fault diagnosis process based on the interval observer is formulated,and the observer gain matrix is convexly optimized by linear matrix *** numerical simulation and experimental results show that the inter-turn short circuit weak fault is hardly detected directly through the current signal,but the fault is quickly and accurately diagnosed through the residual internal *** with the traditional fault diagnosis method based on excitation current,the diagnosis speed and accuracy are greatly improved,and the probability of misdiagnosis also *** method provides a theoretical basis for weak fault identification of excitation systems,and is of great significance for the operation and maintenance of excitation systems.

In this paper, a neural PID adaptive controller based on the identification of resource allocation network （RAN） was proposed for the generator excitation system, which not only has the ability of neural network such as powerful nonlinear mapping and self-learning, but also can adjust the PID controller performance. The controller dynamically increases the number of hidden nodes through the learning samples, building the model online and dynamically adjusting the PID parameters to achieve the system output tracking input. Simulation results show that this method is better to stabilize the static and dynamic terminal voltages of the generator compared to the conventional PID control.

Analysis and design of excitation system in homopolar inductor machine

The excitation system of the homopolar inductor machine(HIM)is analyzed and designed to establish the design approach and evaluation criteria of the excitation *** finite element method is used to calculate the three-dimensional electromagnetic field in the HIM,and the distribution and characteristics of the magnetic field are *** analytical method is applied to investigate the design process of the excitation *** ratio of the axial length of the armature winding to the excitation winding and the ratio of the axial length of the working air-gap to the non-working air-gap are investigated by the numerical calculation method.A prototype HIM is designed and manufactured,and some experiments are implemented to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis and numerical calculation *** research results show that the established design method of the excitation winding is practical and *** the conditions of constant excitation magnetomotive force or constant excitation power,the optimum range of the axial length ratio of the armature winding and the excitation winding is 0.45 to *** optimal axial length of the non-working air-gap can be determined by the ratio of the stator inner diameter and pole-pairs.

Simulation of a Marine Controllable Phase-Compounding excitation system

We first established the mathematical model of a marine synchronous generator and its controllable phase-compounding excitation system, and then made a simulation sketch with Saber simulation software. According to ＂Regulations for the Construction and Classification of Ocean-going Steel Ships＂ of the China Classification Society （CCS） , some experiments are designed to verify the property of the simulation model. Some experiments, such as free start, load sudden on and off, have been CO is mpleted, and the result indicates that the model conforms to the requirements of the rules very well. It qualified for a marine electrical propulsion simulation.

This paper presents the performance of excitation system for Houshi power plant(China).A standard simulation model of the proposed system is used by commercial software"Power system Stability"(PSS/E) and the performance under steady-state and dynamic conditions is *** different identification methods,i.e.,genetic algorithm and Prediction Error Method(PEM) are used and *** the genetic algorithm,first a block-diagram for the EXS is suggested,therefore in the investigated excitation system measurement was performed at no-load operation condition to obtain step response to be able to identify the parameters of the *** simulation results and their comparison,show the good accuracy of both *** the model based on parameter obtained through genetic algorithm shows a better fit when its output response is compared with output response based on prediction Error method.

Synchronous condensers(SCs)are generally used at the receiving-end stations of ultra-high-voltage direct current(UHVDC)transmission systems due to their strong reactive power support and flexible regulation of reactive power according to the interconnected grids operating *** this paper,different starting control schemes of a SC integrated power grid are investigated providing four main contributions:1)The principle of reactive power support of the SC on the interconnected power grid is analytically studied,providing the establishment of mathematical models.2)Four different starting control schemes are developed for the initialization and SC integration,*** Scheme 1,a preset initial falling speed is directly utilized without initialization;in Scheme 2,a black start sequential control approach with a static frequency converter(SFC)is proposed;in Scheme 3,PI/PD/PID controllers are respectively applied for the excitation device at the speed-falling stage;in Scheme 4,a pre-insertion approach of an energy absorption component with R/L/RL is utilized to suppress the surges at the SC integration instant.3)The dynamic behaviors of four different starting schemes at specific operating stages are evaluated.4)The success rate of SC integration is analyzed to evaluate starting control *** of the SC interconnected system with four different starting control schemes is evaluated in the timedomain simulation environment PSCAD/EMTDC^(TM).The results prove the superiority of the proposed starting control approach in Scheme 4.

Excited response of granular ores in vibrating field

The dynamical theory was utilized to probe into the law of the excited response of granular ores generated by the exciting action of exciter and the influence of wave propagation in vibrating field. The exciter with double axes was presented as an example, and the principle of exciter and its mathematical expression of the excitation force were given. The granular ores have viscidity and damping speciality, on the basis of which the motion equation of excited response of ores was established and the approximate expression of mode displacement by harmonic excitation and the steady effect solution of coordinate response were deduced. Utilizing the step by step integration method, the recursion relation matrix of displacement, velocity and acceleration of the excited response of ores were obtained, and the computational flow chart and a computational example were given. The results show that the excited response can change the dynamical character and the flowing characteristic of granular ores.

An Improved Immune Clone Selection Algorithm for Parameters Optimization of Marine Electric Power system Stabilizer

In themarine electric power system,the marine generators will be disturbed by the large change of loads or the fault of the power *** marine generators usually installed power system stabilizers to damp power system oscillations through the excitation *** paper proposes a novel method to obtain optimal parameter values for Power system Stabilizer(PSS)to suppress low-frequency oscillations in the marine electric power *** this paper,a newly developed immune clone selection algorithm was improved from the three aspects of the adaptive incentive degree,vaccination,and adaptive mutation ***,the typical PSS implementation type of leader-lag structure was adopted and the objective function was set in the optimization *** performance of PSS tuned by improved immune clone selection algorithm was compared with PSS tuned by basic immune clone selection algorithm(ICSA)under various operating conditions and ***,an improved immune clone selection algorithm(IICSA)optimization technique was implemented on two test systems for test *** on the simulations,it is found that an improved immune clone selection algorithm demonstrates superiority over the basic immune clone selection algorithm in getting a smaller number of iterations and fast convergence rates to achieve the optimal parameters of the power system ***,the proposed approach improves the stability and dynamic performance under various loads conditions and disturbances of the marine electric power system.

Simulating the operation action of an asynchronized turbogenerator under loss of excitation

The control strategy for asynchronized turbogenerators (ASTGs) was studied by using two-axis equations. Simulation of the process of an asynchronized turbogenerator with faults of d or q axis or d and q axes in the excitation system was carried out with the simulating models including the model of the reverse thyristors in the excitation system established by Saber software. The simulation results show that at the loss of excitation at both windings or one winding of the rotor, the ASTGs can be automatically driven into an asynchronous or single axis excitation operation mode without a power unit tripping, and the characteristics for ASTGs with faults in the excitation system appear in good order.
