Geographical Patterns of Chinese ethnic Minority Population Composition and ethnic diversity

ethnicity is a carrier of language and *** distribution of ethnic diversity is fundamental for identifying and reconstructing the migration patterns and evolution histories of cultures and *** the Chinese 4th National Census (1990) data,we investigated the specific time geographical patterns of population and diversity of Chinese *** anticipated,results show that Chineseminorities are chiefly concentrated in dis-tant plateaus and mountains in the southwest,northwest and northeast of ***,population density centers of the 10 majorminorities are rather scattered,alternatively dominating at different parts of the *** study pro-vides a first comprehensive quantitative test on a prevailing notion of 'six plates and three corridors' on the empirical clustering patterns of Chinese *** are more consistent evidences supporting this notion in the north of China,with the central and southern regions showing more complex patterns,potentially transformed by processes such as migration,fragmentation,and *** results of this study suggest that a geographical ap-proach can provide heuristic and complementary information for better understanding of historical social processes.

One strand of research in public economics has found that increasing ethnic diversity leads to reductions in provision of productive public goods. Another strand of research has emphasized the key role that tax and expenditure limitations play in the provision of public services. This paper explores the interaction between these two effects. The regression results suggest that the prior results on ethnic diversity are robust when TELs are taken into consideration. In addition, the imposition of TELs mitigates the negative effect of ethnic fragmentation on the share of local spending on education and roads. It also mitigates the positive correlation between ethnic diversity and total local government revenue and expenditure per capita.

The Effect of Separatism on the Society： Quantitative Analysis on the World Values Survey

In the 21st century, world politics appeared to far from resolved condition in terms of power sharing among the elites, thus created separatism movements in many parts of the world. These movements caused some changes in the society that is nowadays seen as a multicultural. Using World Values Survey＇s data, this study revealed that separatism would cause people to less likely agree on ethnic diversity benefit. Further, when the result is tested by elaboration model, economic condition was found as important factor on how people saw ethnic diversity benefit among the society.

For we Ethiopians the experiences of ethno-linguistic diversity issues are very closely inter-related with our life and the history of the ruling government experiences. Such experiences and knowledge opens up particular possibilities and choices, while foreclosing others. The researcher specifically is interested in the linguistic and ethnic differences of how ethno-linguistic diversity constructs identity positioning in enduring ways and in a variety of contexts. The starting point is that ethno linguistic diversity needs to move beyond constraining models of conventional generically based narrative analysis towards more distributed, dynamic accounts. At the same time ethno-linguistic diversity tend to be researched within the terms set by critical discourse analysis, at best remaining on the bounds of inquiry into narrative and identity.
