One decade(2011–2020)of European agricultural water stress monitoring by MSG-SEVIRI:workflow implementation on the Virtual Earth Laboratory(VLab)platform

Cloud computing facilities can provide crucial computing support for processing the time series of satellite data and exploiting their spatio-temporal information content.However,dedicated efforts are still required to develop workflows,executable on cloud-based platforms,for ingesting the satellite data,performing the targeted processes,and generating the desired products.In this study,an operational workflow is proposed,based on monthly Evaporative Stress Index(ESI)anomaly,and implemented in cloud-based online Virtual Earth Laboratory(VLab)platform,as a demonstration,to monitor European agricultural water stress.To this end,daily time-series of actual and reference evapotranspiration(eta and et0),from the Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager(SEVIRI)sensor,were used to execute the proposed workflow successfully on VLab.The execution of the workflow resulted in obtaining one decade(2011–2020)of European monthly agricultural water stress maps at 0.04˚spatial resolution and corresponding stress reports for each country.To support open science,all the workflow outputs are stored in GeoServer,documented in GeoNetwork,and made available through MapStore.This enables creating a dashboard for better visualization of the results for end-users.The results from this study demonstrate the capability of VLab platform for water stress detection from time series of SEVIRI-et data.

Emerging roles for insulin-like growth factor binding protein like protein 1

Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) mediate diverse cellular processesin various tissues, including the central nervous system (CNS)and thus require robust and delicate regulatory mechanisms. Itis now known that IGF signaling is regulated by a superfamily ofIGF binding proteins (IGFBPs) which share significant sequencehomology and are secreted to the extracellular environment tobind IGF (Nguyen et al., 2013). Currently, there are 6 known IGFBPsand 10 IGFBP related proteins. A new member of the IGFBPsuperfamily, IGFBP like protein 1 (IGFBPL1), was then identifiedand shown to have tumor suppressor like properties (Smith et al.,2007). Since then, little has been reported about the physiologicalroles of IGFBPL1. Recently, IGFBPL1 was found to be criticallyinvolved in mediating IGF-1 signaling to control CNS axon growthand regeneration (Guo et al., 2018). The study has uncovered a newsignaling loop in the regulation of the pleiotropic functions of IGF-1 and presents a possible novel pharmacological manipulation forpromoting nerve regeneration and repair.

Circadian clock component, LHY, tells a plant when to respond photosynthetically to light in nature

The circadian clock is known to increase plant growth and fitness, and is thought to prepare plants for photosynthesis at dawn and dusk; whether this happens in nature was unknown. We transformed the native tobacco, Nicotiana attenuata to silence two core clock components, NaLHY （irLHY） and NaTOC1 （irTOC1）. We characterized growth and light- and dark-adapted photosynthetic rates （Ac） throughout a 24 h clay in empty vector-transformed （EV）, irLHY, and irTOC1 plants in the field, and in NaPhyA-and NaPhyB1-silenced plants in the glasshouse. The growth rates of irLHY plants were lower than those of EV plants in the field. While irLHY plants reduced Ac earlier at dusk, no differences between irLHY and EV plants were observed at dawn in the field, irLHY, but not EV plants, responded to light in the night by rapidly increasing Ac. Under controlled conditions, EV plants rapidly increased Ac in the day compared to dark-adapted plants at night; irLHY plants lost these time-dependent responses. The role of NaLHY in gating photosynthesis is independent of the light-depen- dent reactions and red light perceived by NaPhyA, but not NaPhyB1. In summary, the circadian clock allows plants not to respond photosynthetically to light at night by anticipating and gating red light-mediated in native tobacco.

HP30-2, a mitochondrial PRAT protein for import of signal sequence-less precursor proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana

Chloroplasts and mitochondria contain a family of putative preprotein and amino acid transporters designated PRAT. Here, we analyzed the role of two previously characterized PRAT protein family members, encoded by At3g49560 （HP30） and At5g24650 （HP30-2）, in planta using a combination of genetic, cell biological and biochemical approaches. Expression studies and green fluorescent protein tagging identified HP30-2 both in chloroplasts and mitochondria, whereas HP30 was located exclusively in chloroplasts. Biochemical evidence was obtained for an association of mitochondrial HP30-2 with two distinct protein complexes, one containing the inner membrane translocase TIM22 and the other containing an alternative NAD（P）H dehydrogenase subunit （NDCI） implicated in a respiratory complex 1-1ike electron trans- port chain. Through its association with TIM22, HP30-2 is involved in the uptake of carrier proteins and other, hydrophobic membrane proteins lacking cleavable N H2-terminal presequences, whereas HP30-2＇s interaction with NDC1 may permit controlling mitochondrial biogenesis and activity.

To the Editor:Erythrokeratodermia variabilis (EKV;MIM 133200) is characterized by the coexistence of transient,figurate,erythematous patches,and localized keratotic hyperkeratosis.EKV shows marked phenotypic heterogeneity,even within kindreds bearing the same diseasecausing mutation.[1] The term EKV et progressiva (EKVP) is a severe variant of EKV and has been proposed to encompass the diversity of phenotypes,ranging from limited hyperkeratotic plaques and erythematous patches to severe progressive symmetric erythrokeratodermia which can feature more generalized cutaneous involvement.

牙周基础治疗对龈沟液和血清内皮素、VEGF-A和TNF-α水平的影响

目的:观察非手术性牙周治疗对龈沟液和血清中内皮素(endothelin,et)、血管内皮细胞生长因子A(vascular endothelial growth factor-A,VEGF-A)和肿瘤坏死因子α(tumor necrosis factor-α,TNF-α)水平的影响.方法:收集2017年10月-2018年6月于广州中医药大学深圳医院就诊的牙周炎患者57例及同期来院进行体检的43名健康人,分别作为牙周炎组与正常对照组.牙周炎组患者给予龈下深刮和根面平整治疗6周.检测2组受试者治疗前、后牙龈探诊出血(bleeding on probing,BOP)率、菌斑指数(plaque index,PI)、探诊深度(probe depth,PD)、临床附着水平(clinical attachment level,CAL)及牙龈指数(gingival index,GI)等牙周临床参数,以及龈沟液与血清中内皮素、VEGF-A和TNF-α水平,分析牙周炎患者治疗前龈沟液中et水平与VEGF-A及TNF-α水平的关系.采用SPSS 21.0软件包对数据进行统计学分析.结果:正常对照组受试者BOP、PI、PD、CAL及GI等牙周临床参数均显著小于牙周炎组患者(Pet、VEGF-A及TNF-α水平较治疗前显著下降(Pet、VEGF-A及TNF-α水平均显著大于正常对照组(Pet水平与VEGF-A水平无显著相关性(P>0.05),但治疗前龈沟液中et水平与TNF-α水平呈显著正相关(Pet、VEGF-A、TNF-αt水平,改善患者牙周情况.龈沟液中et水平与TNF-α水平呈显著正相关.

Maize(Zea mays)cultivation is strongly affected by both abiotic and biotic stress,leading to reduced growth and productivity.It has recently become clear that regulators of plant stress responses,including the phytohormones abscisic acid(ABA),ethylene(et),and jasmonic acid(JA),together with reactive oxygen species(ROS),shape plant growth and development.Beyond their well established functions in stress responses,these molecules play crucial roles in balancing growth and defense,which must be finely tuned to achieve high yields in crops while maintaining some level of defense.In this review,we provide an in-depth analysis of recent research on the developmental functions of stress regulators,focusing specifically on maize.By unraveling the contributions of these regulators to maize development,we present new avenues for enhancing maize cultivation and growth while highlighting the potential risks associated with manipulating stress regulators to enhance grain yields in the face of environmental challenges.

为更好地理解植被恢复对水文过程的影响,以地表水-地下水交互频繁且植被恢复明显的柴达木盆地东北部巴音河流域中下游为例,将SWAT-MODFLOW模型与动态HRU相结合,开发了LU-SWAT-MODFLOW模型,克服了原始HRU在植被动态变化模拟中的缺陷,准确模拟了地表覆被变化及地表水—地下水交互过程。结果表明,LU-SWAT-MODFLOW模型模拟的LAI、et、地下水位效果较好;研究区植被恢复后,不同子流域月蒸散发增加了0~1.5 mm,年蒸散发增加了0~6 mm;地下水补给量平均每月增加约1.27 mm,平均每年增加14.02 mm;研究区地表水-地下水转换关系及水量在植被恢复类型为低覆盖度草地和裸地向林地转化的区域有较明显变化。

目的:本部分研究分为两个部分,第一部分为荟萃分析和回顾性研究部分,最近用于激素受体(hormone receptor,HR)阳性,人类表皮生长因子受体2(human epidermal growth factor receptor 2,HER2)阴性晚期乳腺癌的治疗方案之一是使用细胞周期依赖性激酶4和6(the cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6,CDK4/6)抑制剂和et(endocrine therapy,et)。评估接受CDK4/6抑制剂联合et与单独et的HR阳性、HER2阴性晚期乳腺癌患者的总生存期(overall survival,OS)、无进展生存期(progression-free survival,PFS)、客观缓解率(objective response rate,ORR)和不良反应(adverse events,AEs),特别是3级和4级AEs。第一部分通过对已发表的随机对照研究进行荟萃分析和对接受CDK4/6抑制剂的HR阳性、HER2阴性晚期乳腺癌患者进行回顾性研究,探索CDK4/6抑制剂药物对高海拔地区HR阳性、HER2阴性晚期乳腺癌患者的不良反应。第二部分为SUSD3在乳腺癌中的作用研究,因为SUSD3在乳腺癌中的作用机制不明,我们进行进一步探索来综合评估SUSD3在乳腺癌中的预后价值。方法:第一部分为荟萃分析和回顾性研究部分,系统搜索Pub Med、Embase、欧洲医学肿瘤学会(the European Society of Medical Oncology,ESMO)、美国临床肿瘤学会(the American Society of Clinical Oncology,ASCO)和圣安东尼奥乳腺癌研讨会(the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium,SABCs)等数据,以获得CDK4/6抑制剂联合et和et对HR阳性、HER2阴性晚期乳腺癌的随机临床试验。通过统计和汇总各项研究中CDK4/6抑制剂联合et组和et组患者OS、PFS的风险比(hazard ratios,HRs)和95%可信区间(confidence interval,CI)及ORR和AEs进行荟萃分析。收集来自青海地区两家医院2019年9月至2022年3月期间确诊为HR阳性、HER2阴性晚期乳腺癌的患者,对符合标准的患者进行et药物的统计,随访并分析患者服用CDK4/6抑制剂后的不良反应。第二部分为SUSD3在乳腺癌中的作用研究,通过Wilcoxon signed-rank test,Kruskal-Wallis test和logistic回归方法来确认SUSD3的表达与乳腺癌临床特征之间的联系。通过Kaplan-Meier,COX回归分析以及Kaplan-Meier plotter数据库的在线分析,分析SUSD3的表达与乳腺癌患者生存之间的关系。采用肿瘤基因图谱(The Cancer Genome Atlas,TCGA)数据集进行基因集富集分析(Gene Set Enrichment Analysis,GSEA),通过免疫组化验证SUSD3在正常组织及癌旁组织的细胞质和细胞核中的表达。结果:第一部分的荟萃分析评估了9项研究,共包括5043例晚期乳腺癌患者。结果显示在et中添加CDK4/6抑制剂对OS有明显改善(HR,1.33;95%CI,1.19-1.48;Pet相比,CDK4/6抑制剂联合et与以下亚组的OS改善相关:一线治疗(HR,1.35;95%CI,1.18-1.54;Pet中添加CDK4/6抑制剂也有显著的PFS(HR,1.84;95%CI,1.70-1.98;Pet相比,使用CDK4/6抑制剂联合et显著增加3或4级AEs的风险,包括中性粒细胞减少(HR,57.05;95%CI,38.26-85.05;P<0.001),白细胞减少(HR,36.36;95%CI,19.35-68.34;P<0.001),腹泻(HR,4.97;95%CI,2.84-8.69;P<0.001)。经过对回顾性研究中口服CDK4/6抑制剂患者的不良反应进行随访,中位

为了提出一套比较精确的适合江西省的水稻参考作物腾发量(et;)预报方法,采用PM公式和26个气象站点的历史气象数据来计算et0,以此为基准值对Hargreaves-Samani(HS)模型、Blaney-Criddle(BC)模型及McCloud(MC)模型进行率定。并利用天气预报数据,评价3种et0预报模型在江西省各个站点的适用性。结果表明:经过参数校正后,HS模型、BC模型及MC模型的et0预报值在26个站点的平均的准确率分别为86.63%、85.81%、87.12%,平均绝对误差的均值分别为0.75、0.80、0.76 mm/d,平均的均方根误差分别为0.98、1.00、0.99 mm/d,平均的相关系数分别为0.76、0.76、0.78,有16个站点推荐使用HS模型进行et0预报。对于江西省各个站点,预报精度最好的是HS模型,MC模型其次,BC模型最差。整体来看,采用率定后的HS模型进行预报,可为江西省灌溉预报及决策提供较为准确的et0预报数据。
