The basic principle and method of Grey Model prediction are presented. In view of the defects of general GM(1,1) model, an improved method is proposed. That is using the particle swarm optimization algorithm to obtain the best forecast dimension and using metabolism to make the model parameters adaptively change. Finally, the improved Grey Model is used to predict the fault of high voltage power supply circuit of a certain type of modern air-borne radar. The results which are computed and simulated by Matlab software show that the forecast precision of improved Grey Model is higher than that of original Grey Model.

Development of Auxiliaries(1) Reliability study and dynamic design of drilling pumpsThe machinery department of Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development (RIPED) has conducted reliability study of F- 1300/1600 triplex drilling pump made by Baoji Petroleum Machinery Manufacturing Plant. Based on accident statistics, crank bearing and connection bolt are considered to be focus of attention and their reliability have been improved. As a result, the MTBF is increased by 50% and the pumps enjoy high prestige among customers. University of Petroleum (Beijing) has conducted the body modal analysis and dynamic design ofF- 1300 drilling pump. Weak points such as bearing support, side boards and end board has been improved. Consequently, vibration resistance of pumps have been increased, failure rate decreased,and service life extended.

＜正＞Nuclear power has been accepted as a kind of the clean energy around the *** pay much more attention to its development than before. In China, nuclearpower station construction is still at the very beginning period. Nuclear capacity andgeneration account for very small portion in the China’s power industry. Consideringthe actual manufacturing level in China, we believe that the localization of nuclearpower equipment will be the key factor to make China’s nuclear power developmentsuccess. Furthermore, QC surveillance in the whole process of localized equipmentmanufacturing will be the very important mean to assure the quality of nuclear powerequipment. As an institute in the electricity power industry, Suzhou Nuclear Power ResearchInstitute （SNPI） has been involved in the field of quality technology research for longtime. It has very good experience in the field of QC surveillance. So, it was authorizedby LANPC to perform QC surveillance on all localized equipment in nuclear island,conventional island and BOP. After four and half years practice in Ling’ao project,SNPI had got and accumulated good experience and feedback experience in performingQC surveillance on nuclear power equipment. With reference to the foreign mature andadvanced QC methods performed in the process of nuclear power equipmentmanufacturing, SNPI has built up a set of QC methods which adapt to Chinese situation,Chinese suppliers, owners and companies in charge of QC surveillance. The key element and document of this set of QC method are Special SurveillancePlan （SSP） and Surveillance Guide （SG）. SNPI has established a whole set of SG forsome important process, manufacturing period, qualification and related systems. Itrequires that QC inspector should take his responsibility before manufacturing *** QC inspector should stipulate related SSP, set up surveillance point, perform QCsurveillance, follow up the quality record and finish surveillance report.
