50 Years Experience of the *** Electric Welding Institute in Field of Electron Beam Welding

Studying the possibilities of electron beam welding (EBW) and the principles of construction of equipment for electron beam welding,led by academician Boris Evgenyevich Paton,began at the *** Electric Welding Institute (PWI) in *** resulted in development of the first laboratory-scale plant and welding of different small *** year later the method of electron beam welding turned out to be in great demand:in nuclear power engineering,in production of electric vacuum devices and liquid-fuel rocket *** 1961-1962 owing to effective coordination of work performed at government level,the first production machines for electron beam welding were put into operation at a number of branch *** the next few years,application of electron beam welding became wider,first of all in the above mentioned industries,and simultaneously electron beam welding began to be accepted by aircraft and power engineering *** 1960-s PWI organized in Ukraine full-scale production of power units,developed by it (guns,power sources and control systems) on the basis of Sumy Factory of Electron Microscopes.72 complete sets of power source units of SP-30 type (25 kV,500 mА),330 complete sets of U-250А (30 kV,450 mА),320 complete sets of ELA-60 (60 kV,250,500 and 1000 mА) and ELA-120 (120 kV,1000 mА) were manufactured in different periods of *** October 16th 1969 the first test of electron beam welding and cutting of metals was carried out in ?Soyuz-6? spaceship,that practically initiated the space *** was performed in Vulkan unit developed by *** that in space X-radiation and difficulties with high-voltage insulation could eliminate the possibility of electron beam application,low accelerating voltage (not higher than 8 kV) was used.

Grey Incidence Analysis Applied to Civil Aircraft Customization Process

The airlines need to select the optional equipment according to their individual development demands and the manufacture′s standard specification manual when purchasing a new *** this customization process,the selection theory is mainly based on qualitative analysis and quantitative *** grey incidence analysis(GIA)is used for modeling,which evaluates the correlations between optional equipment and airlines′individual ***,the customization demands are quantitatively processed as different weights in evaluation index system with analytical hierarchy ***,the value of grey incidence degree is obtained which shows whether the optional equipment is on the purchasing list or ***,two airlines′customization demands are applied in the example of aircraft cabin′s seats,so two different purchasing priorities and equipment installation lists can be *** results and comparisons verify the reasonable of modeling,which provides an objective scheme of aircraft equipment selection.

Field study of plastic tube cast-in-place concrete pile

The compositions, technical principles and construction equipments of a new piling method used for ground improvement plastic tube cast-in-place concrete pile were introduced. The results from static load tests on single piles with different forms of pile shoes and on their composite foundations were analyzed. The distribution patterns of axial force, shaft friction and toe resistance were studied based on the measurements taken from buried strain gauges. From the point of engineering application, the pile has merits in convenient quality control, high bearing capacity and reliable quality, showing higher reasonability, advancement and suitability than other ground improvement methods. The pile can be adopted properly to take place of ordinary ground improvement method, achieving greater economical and social benefits.

Cupping therapy （Hijama in Arabic） is a popular traditional treatment especially in Asia, the Middle East and Central Europe. Traditionally, cupping therapy has been one of the most used practices in Saudi Arabia. Standardization of the practice of cupping therapy is a very important step to eliminate or reduce any adverse events related to cupping. This article gives a brief illustration and highlights the important points of the first accredited Saudi Arabian standards for the safe use of cupping equipment and its applications.

Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine Four-diagnostic auxilia-ry apparatus in evaluation of health status and clinical treatment

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) Four-diagnostic Auxiliary Apparatus in disease ***: The liver cancer patients and healthy controls were recruited from Shanghai Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital and Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, respectively. Then, the included subjects were diagnosed by the Four-diagnostic auxiliary ***: Thirty liver cancer patients and 30 paired healthy controls were enrolled in this study. Based on the apparatus, the pulse wave velocity was significantly higher in patients compared with controls(P < 0.05). The number of patients with purple tongue and ecchymosis were more than controls(P < 0.05). The number of patients(10%) with yellow tongue coating were higher than the controls(0%). Patients were inclined to be with water type and fire type ***: TCM Four-diagnostic auxiliary apparatus can be applied in clinical diagnosis of body constitution and health status of subjects. It promotes the accuracy and speed for disease diagnosis and TCM standardization.

The developments of aeronautics and astronautics require engines of higher quality. The temperature distribution in combustion engine is highly influenced by the thermal conduct resistance. To predict the temperature field of the hot-end assemblies of combustion engine, the thermal contact resistance must be considered. The object of the study is to propose a model of high application including in conditions of high temperature and high pressure. Up to date, many models and empirical or semi-empirical correlations have been developed, also researchers designed different test equipments according to specific conditions. This paper presents several representative models and test equipments, compares the merits and drawbacks with each other, and gives recommendations for further research.
