This research intends to employ Complex Adaptive Blended Learning(CABL)in English Intensive Reading teaching.This empirical research tries to work out what is Complex Adaptive Blended Learning Literature review,Definition of blended learning.It would further analyze the core concepts and framework of CABL and discuss the principles of CABL.This empirical study of Complex Adaptive Blended Learning in English Intensive Reading Teaching would be conducted on the Super-star Learning Management System(SLMS).The activities designed in the Complex Adaptive Blended Learning would be analyzed and how they work before class,in class,and after class would be described.The Complex Adaptive Blended Learning not only offers a platform for students to develop their potential in English Intensive Reading class,but also facilitates the data collection for the teachers in their teaching research.

Power load forecasting is very important for power dispatching. Accurate load forecasting is of great significance for saving energy, reducing generating cost and improving social and economic benefits. In order to accurately predict the power load, based on BP neural network theory, combined with the advantages of Clementine in dealing with big data and preventing overfitting, a neural network prediction model for large data is constructed.

At present, with the rapid development of foreign trade, trade friction of China has transformed from the microcosmic aspects of enterprise to the macroscopical aspects of government. Countervailing policy as a trade policy has a profound effect on many aspects. Based on constructing Binary Choice Model of the influencing factors of macro decision-making, this paper tries to carry out an empirical study on the influencing factors of macro decision-making form foreign countries against China with the data of the 38 countervailing files initiated by the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa and India from 2004 to 2009. This paper makes contributions to provide reference to China’s macro decision-making sectors.

Purpose: As an important issue, strategic planning in public libraries has been paid more attention in China recent years. However, a comprehensive and systematic research, especially strategic models based on empirical studies, is required in the public library strategic planning. The purpose of this research is to investigate the current practices and propose an appropriate reference and guidance of strategic planning in public libraries in China’s mainland.Design/methodology/approach: A questionnaire-based survey method is carried out to collect the views of public libraries staff at different levels in China’s mainland. The questionnaire is designed on the following four aspects toward strategic planning in public libraries: The attitude, the status quo, basic issues and the guides. The 882 valid questionnaires are processed by a statistic analysis to reflect the current practices of strategic planning in public libraries in China’s mainland.Findings: Our research results reveal that the unclear and confused understanding of the strategic planning still exist among the public libraries staff in China’s mainland. However, the majority of respondents still believe that the strategic planning in public libraries is significant and the library developments will be affected for lacking strategic planning. Moreover, it is considerable that the strategic plans are jointly made by independent agencies and public libraries, or by the public library itself. Also, guidelines and a set of softwares in strategic planning are needed.research limitations/implications: The study was restricted to six main areas in China. A wider geographic sampling can preferable show the basic status of strategic planning in public libraries.The procedures of data collection would be another limitation. The method of questionnaire is employed to investigate the impact of Chinese thinking in the writing processes of 80 college English majors.It reveals that the English writing process is a bilingual event(namely,English writers have both Chinese and English at their disposal when they are composing in English).And no matter whether the English proficiency of the learners is high or low,the learners have a great dependence on Chinese thinking in the process of English writing.In the categories of task reacting and content organizing,there is no great difference between the high and low English proficiency students.But in the category of linguistic form,the influence of Chinese thinking on the low level students is far greater than the high level students.

198 non-English freshmen students from Shandong Yingcai College were selected as research subjects.The subjects were divided into the experimental group(EG) and the control group(CG).The students in EG were taught English integrated Chinese traditional culture for three semesters,while the ones in CG were taught as usual.The results indicate that the integration of Chinese culture broadens the students' horizons and improves the students' ability to express Chinese culture in English and intercultural communicative competence.

Effects of smart agricultural production investment announcements on shareholder value:Evidence from China

The research aims at investigating the effects of different modalities and combinations of them on English Listening Teaching, exploring the factors influencing the pattern of multimodality with optimal function and setting practical example to improve the quality of English Listening Teaching. The result shows that reasonable utilization of the combination of multimodalities can improve learners’ listening competence;the choice of the combination of multimodalities depends on the context of situation;visual information can give play to positive function providing that it is complementary to auditory information;In addition, L2 subtitling is more beneficial than L1 because it causes less lexical interference.

The advent of the era of the smart economy has made agricultural production more intelligent.An increasing number of companies have launched a series of investment activities aimed at smart agricultural production(SAP).However,whether smart agricultural production investment(SAPI)impacts the stock market has yet to be confirmed.Therefore,based on the sample data of 118 listed companies in China from 2010 to 2019,this study empirically examines the impact of SAPI announcements on shareholder value,as indicated by abnormal returns of stocks.Further,we tested the moderating effect of certain characteristic factors on abnormal stock returns.The research results illustrate a significant positive connection between SAPI announcements and shareholder value.Moreover,considering the announcement content and company factors,this study investigates the impacts of different investment targets and industries on the market reaction to SAPI announcements.We find that non-agricultural companies have a more positive market reaction to SAPI than agricultural companies;the higher the liability-asset ratio,the more positive will be the stock market reaction to SAPI.

Purpose:China’s new universal two-child policy has brought a baby boom of the second child in 2016.With the changing family structures,elder children in adolescence may have more and more emotional and even psychological problems such as“two-child syndrome”.This paper aims to explore the“influence factors and mechanism of the second child on the growth of teenagers”and has great practical significance to promote the physical and mental health of teenagers and the harmony of two-child families.Design/methodology/approach:By means of literature analysis,in-depth interview,questionnaire survey and statistical analysis,the elder children aged 12 to 18 in the two-child family were taken as the main body of the survey,and an empirical research based on NLP understanding hierarchy theory was carried out.Major Findings:(1)The most significant influence on the growth of teenagers is the attitude of parents,and then the gender of the first child.(2)Parents’favouritism towards the second child would lead to decline in the first child’s academic performance.(3)The higher the family income,the less the influence on the first child’s life.(4)When the age difference is large,the first child and the second child are not easy to have conflicts.Practical implications:Parents should try to treat any children equally.Parents should pay attention to the sibling relationship of their two children with small age gap.Parents who have two children with a large age gap should properly guide the elder child to help take care of the younger brother or sister.Originality/value:This study contributes to the growing literature focusing on the influence factors and mechanism of the second child on the growth of teenagers in the context of China’s new universal two-child policy.It adds some early empirical insights on the physical and mental health of teenagers in two-child families.
