Everything Is a Circle: A New Universal Orbital Model

Based on measured astronomical position data of heavenly objects in the Solar System and other planetary systems, all bodies in space seem to move in some kind of elliptical motion with respect to each other. According to Kepler’s 1st Law, “orbit of a planet with respect to the Sun is an ellipse, with the Sun at one of the two foci.” Orbit of the Moon with respect to Earth is also distinctly elliptical, but this ellipse has a varying eccentricity as the Moon comes closer to and goes farther away from the Earth in a harmonic style along a full cycle of this ellipse. In this paper, our research results are summarized, where it is first mathematically shown that the “distance between points around any two different circles in three-dimensional space” is equivalent to the “distance of points around a vector ellipse to another fixed or moving point, as in two-dimensional space”. What is done is equivalent to showing that bodies moving on two different circular orbits in space vector-wise behave as if moving on an elliptical path with respect to each other, and virtually seeing each other as positioned at an instantaneously stationary point in space on their relative ecliptic plane, whether they are moving with the same angular velocity, or different but fixed angular velocities, or even with different and changing angular velocities with respect to their own centers of revolution. This mathematical revelation has the potential to lead to far reaching discoveries in physics, enabling more insight into forces of nature, with a formulation of a new fundamental model regarding the motions of bodies in the Universe, including the Sun, Planets, and Satellites in the Solar System and elsewhere, as well as at particle and subatomic level. Based on the demonstrated mathematical analysis, as they exhibit almost fixed elliptic orbits relative to one another over time, the assertion is made that the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon must each be revolving in their individual circular orb

The effect of surface anisotropy on contact angles and the characterization of elliptical cap droplets

In this paper, the variation of contact angles of a droplet on grooved surfaces was studied from microscale to macroscale experimentally and theoretically. The experimental results indicated that the contact angle changes nonlinearly with anisotropic factor. To get clear of the changing process of contact angle on grooved surfaces from microscale to macroscale, we carried out theoretical analysis with moment equilibrium method being adopted. In addition, the variation of contact angles in different directions was investigated and a mathematic model to calculate arbitrary contact angles around the elliptic contact line was suggested. For the convenience of potential applications, a symbolic contact angle was proposed to characterize the ellipsoidal cap droplet on grooved surfaces. Our results will offer help to the future design of patterned surfaces in practical applications,and deepen the understanding of wetting behavior on grooved surfaces.

The forming ability of quasicrystal phase has a relationship with the atomic bond factors based on differences in atom size and electron ***,those factors or their combination are used to describe the forming ability,stability of alloys,*** this paper,the quasicrystal alloy forming abilities for the fifth and sixth transition metals(Y,Zr,Nb,Mo,Ru,Rh,Pd and La,Hf,Ta,W,Re,Os,Ir,Pt) based alloys have been studied by the size factor and the atomic parametric *** has been found that an ellipse curve can be used to separate the quasicrystal formed area from the informed area in the size factor and atomic parameters functional *** ellipse curve can be defined by an equation(x-m)2/c2+(y?n)2/d2=*** overall reliabilities for the model are up to 97.4% and 95.5% for the fifth and the sixth transition metals based quasicrystal alloys,***,the ellipse parameters m,n,c and d can be paraphrased by some appropriate parameters for each host metal.

A 2D Elliptical Model of Random Packing for Aggregates in Concrete

In the present work, a computer model was developed to simulate random packing of aggregates. For the sake of simplicity, two dimensional situation was considered and all of the aggregates in concrete were assumed as ellipse. 2D elliptical models of random packing were firstly demonstrated in periodic boundary condition. In addition, the ellipse random packing model was employed for the influence of aspect ratios on the packing fraction of ellipses. The modeling results demonstrate that the packing fraction of ellipses firstly increases then drops down with increasing aspect ratio. The maximal random packing fraction is 0.66 when aspect ratio is 1.04 in the periodic boundary condition.

Union Resolution Performance of Frequency Modulation Parameter Based on RWT for LFM Signals

Union resolution performance of FM (frequency modulation) parameter based on Radon-Wigner transform (RWT) for multi-component LFM (linear frequency modulation) signals is studied. Firstly, the RWT output expression is offered, and the independent resolution performances of initial frequency and chirp rate are analyzed. Secondly, the RWT output approximate analytic expression is given based on quadratic Taylor's series expansion, and the contour property is analyzed. Contour can be used to picture the union resolution performance of FM parameter, and 2-D resolution performance is studied based on approximate analytic expression, and the union resolution expression of FM parameter and resolution ellipse are offered. The simulation results validate the union resolution expression, and show that the union resolution can improve the resolution performance of multi-component LFM signals, contrasted with absolute resolution performance. The paper can help the study of LFM parameter estimation and resolution performance.

The Use of Zigs and Zags to Reduce Scarring over “Keloid Triangles” during Excisional Surgery: Biomechanics, Review and Recommendations

Aim: The sternal region, cervico-mandibular region and the intra-mammary region have been the bane of many cutaneous surgeons, with a higher propensity for poor scarring and wound complications. In this article, the author undertakes a review of different methods of breaking up scars by utilizing zigs and zags, and conducts a pigskin study to measure the reduction in tension that can be achieved by using a simple zigzag technique while performing excisions. Methods: A pigskin study conducted into the use of the simple zigzag to reduce the tension (and thereby scarring) of surgical wounds is reported here, and comparison and review is undertaken of the biomechanics of elliptical excisions and traditional Z-plasties. Results: Using a simple zigzag reduces tension across the midpoint of the scar more effectively than a Z-plasty or a simple elliptical excision. Conclusion: The techniques of breaking up a scar or incision line by using zigs and zags, in a means to reduce scarring, are not new. However, each of these techniques has specific advantages and disadvantages that need consideration by the surgeon. In this paper, a pigskin study is conducted into the use of the simple zigzag to reduce the tension (and thereby reduce the risk of poor scarring) of surgical wounds.

VERIFICATION OF ENSEMBLE TRACK FORECASTS OF TROPICAL CYCLONES DURING 2014

The track forecasts of fi ve ensemble prediction systems(JMA-WEPS,CMA-GEFS,ECMWF-EPS,NCEP-GEFS and MSC-CENS,respectively)in 2014 are evaluated in this ***,on the assumption of bivariate normal distribution,a probability ellipse based on ensemble spread is proposed to represent forecast uncertainties,and then the ellipse and ensemble mean are used to evaluate the fi ve different *** is found that the probability ellipse of ECMWF-EPS is smaller,with a high hit ratio,and its mean track errors are just a little larger than those of NCEP-GEFS within 48 h,meaning overall it outperforms the other four ***,the performance of CMA-GEFS is found to be the poorest.

Least Squares Fitting Based Fault Classification in Distribution Systems

Power systems are the largest and most complex human made systems, consisting of thousands of electrical sources, loads, transmission and distribution lines, power transformers, circuit breakers, etc. where faults always occurred. Faults can cause personnel and equipment safety problems, and can result in significant disruption to power supply and thus financial losses. In this paper we will present comprehensive mathematical suite to detect and classify fault dependent models of various types of power systems. This work will extract fault unique signatures by using polarization ellipse during the healthy condition and the polarization will be circular shape with radius equal the rated voltage of the system, but during the fault condition the polarization will be ellipse shape and the fault signature will be defined according the ellipse parameters major axis, minor axis, ellipticity and orientation angle, by using least squares criterion will define the ellipse parameters this system will identify and classify. This paper will be a milestone for extended paper based on the proposed mathematical modelling and applying it to identify, classify and localize with simulation model.
