Photosynthetic Characterization of the Plant Dicranopteris dichotoma Bernh. in a Rare Earth Elements Mine

In order to investigate the distribution of rare earth elements （REEs） in the natural hyperaccumulator fern Dicranopteris dichotoma Bernh. and to characterize this plant photosynthetically, concentrations of REEs in D. dichotoma from mines mining heavy and light REEs （HREEs and LREEs, respectively）, as well as in D. dichotoma from an area in which no mining occurred, in southern Jiangxi Province were determined using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. The REE concentrations in the lamina of D. dichotoma were in the order LREEs mine 〉 HREEs mine 〉 non-mining area. The maximum REE content in the lamina of D. dichotoma from the LREE mine was approximately 2 648 mg/kg dry weight. The photosynthetic activity of D. dichotoma from areas of HREE and LREE mines was improved by the presence of high concentrations of REEs in the lamina compared with D. dichotoma from the non-mining area. However, this enhancement varied according to the concentrations of the REEs, as well as their type. In addition, 77K fluorescence, electron transport rate, and chlorophyll-protein complex studies showed that the enhancement of the photosynthetic activity of D. dichotoma from HREE mines was mainly due to an increase in the chlorophyll-protein complex of the reaction center of photosystem （PS） Ⅰ, whereas the enhancement observed in D. dichotoma from LREE mines was due to an increase in the internal antennae chlorophyll-protein complex of PS Ⅱ and greater light energy distribution to the light-harvesting chlorophyll-protein complex of PS Ⅱ.

For eradicating weeds in the crop field,a new herbicide propyl 4-(2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yloxy)benzylamino)benzoate(ZJ0273) is becoming popular in the rapeseed field in *** order to developing a resistance/phytotoxicity monitoring tests for infield monitoring of growth status and phytotoxicity of this herbicide on oilseed rape crop,two leading commercial cultivars of oilseed rape *** rapa *** and *** *** 758 were *** concentrations of ZJ0273(0mg/L,100mg/L,500 and1000 mg/L were foliar applied at 3 leaf stage of rapeseed *** pulse-amplitude-modulated chlorophyll fluorometer(Imaging PAM) is being used to monitor the herbicide ZJ0273 resistance and phytotoxicity on oilseed *** were carried out at 1,3,5 and 7 days after herbicidal *** results revealed that maximum quantum yield(Fv/Fm),non-photochemical quenching(NPQ),electron transport rate(ETR) and photochemical utilization[Y(Ⅱ)]inhibition were significantly increased with herbicide application increasing,while photochemical quenching(qP),NPQ,Y(Ⅱ) and regulated heat dissipation[Y(NPQ)]were significantly decreased with herbicide application and increase in leaf ***,the resistant *** species started to recover after 5 *** growth response depicts the stunted plant growth especially at 1000 mg/L for both Brassica *** being treated with 500mg/L and 1000 mg/L ZJ0273(especially the latter),*** seedlings were stunted severely at 5 days after the treatment,where the plants were not growing any *** same typical symptom was also found in *** under 1000 mg/L ZJ0273 stress but not at 500 mg/***,the concentration-inhibiting curves of Y(Ⅱ) and ETR suggested that 500mg/L was a safer dose for *** fluorescence images of two rape species after 5 days treatment showed that the herbicide phytotoxicity was most severe in the 3 leaf at high concentrations(500mg/L,1000mg/L in ***).In contrast,differe
