Survey on the Demand for elderly care Services of Community Residents in Beijing and Analysis of Influencing Factors

Objective: To investigate the current situation of the demand for geriatric care services of community residents in Beijing and analyze the influencing factors to provide a reference basis for meeting the demand for diversified and professional geriatric care services. Methods: A self-made questionnaire was used to randomly survey 1558 elderly individuals at community health service centers in 8 urban districts where elderly care centers were planned to be built. The influencing factors of the different characteristics of elderly care service needs from three aspects were analyzed using a dichotomous logistic regression model: predisposing, enabling, and, need factors. Results: 69.7% of the elderly required home care services, 22.8% wanted to get care services at elderly care centers, 15.9% wanted to get care services at nursing homes, 12.3% required community care services, and 7.4% didn’t know where to access care services. 68.5% of the elderly required care services for disabilities/semi-disabilities, 58.0% for dementia, 54.7% for common diseases, 34.9% for rehabilitation training, 33.0% for plumbing care, and 7.5% for hospice care. At the same time, there were urban- rural differences in the demand for elderly care services, with suburban elderly having a higher demand for care services than those living in urban areas (P elderly’s demand for care services was mainly related to age, place of residence, and gender in the causative factors, mode of residence and physical condition among able factors, and mode of care services and care needs among need factors (P elderly care services was differentiated by factors including place of residence, age, and gender. It is crucial to accurately match the demand for elderly care services, innovate the mode of elderly care services, and improve the service quality to improve the elderly health service system.

The study of unified needs assessment system of the elderly care in Shanghai -- taking Baoshan District as an example

In2000, the WHO announced the article named ＂establish the long-term care policy ofelderly＂ .It declares the international consensus on long-term care definition, key issues and policy guidelines, and describes the initial action to establish long-term care for the elderly in terms of international consensus on policy, formulated to provide a strategic framework for the long-term care policy for the world. Shanghai city in December 2014 launched the＂ The assessment methods of unified care demand system for elderly in Shanghai city （Trial）＂; firstly,the paper will analyze ＂The assessment methods of unified care demand system for elderly in Shanghai city （Trial）＂ deeply, and secondly investigate how to carry out the policy of unified care elder in Baoshan District, finally summed up the Baoshan District elderly care demand analysis and evaluation of the construction of a unified existence the problem, combined with the problems,we will give the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.

Objective:The recent population census showed China had officially become a graying *** the meantime,China also faces a growing burden of non-communicable *** 2009,a series of policies have been implemented to enhance primary care at the community *** study describes the elderly care services provided in the differently organized community health centers(CHCs).Methods:It covered 13 CHCs of six cities located within the Pearl River Delta(PRD)***-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 59 health administrators,CHC managers,and CHC doctors regarding elderly ***:The study found that accessibility of healthcare for elders has been improved due to the development of health insurance schemes as well as preferential policy to encourage the CHC utilization by the *** the CHCs provide health examinations and chronic disease management to the permanent elderly within their catchment ***,some preventative care such as fall prevention,immunization and mental health management are not ***:Key barriers include low capacity of health service providers in the CHCs,and a lack of government investment in *** report provides an empirical evidence for the health care reform in China.

Exploring internship nursing students’ perception of gerontological nursing competencies: A descriptive study at Cairo University Hospitals

Objective:This research study explores the perceptions of gerontological nursing competencies,attitudes toward older individuals,and the willingness to provide care for the elderly among internship nursing *** and Methods:A convenience sample of 350 internship nursing students from Cairo University Faculty of Nursing participated in the *** were collected using a set of comprehensive tools,including personal data and work experience assessment,the Hartford geriatric nurse competency tool,Kogan’s attitudes toward old people scale,and the modified elderly patient care ***:Descriptive analysis revealed balanced gender representation,with 60%identifying as *** percent of participants reported prior experience in gerontological ***-assessed competency scores indicated moderate proficiency in communication,physiological changes,and functional status *** such as pain management and restraint use demonstrated potential gaps in self-perceived *** toward older individuals were predominantly positive,and the willingness to provide care showed positive tendencies,with a minor degree of hesitation ***:The findings underscore the need for targeted interventions in nursing education to address competency gaps,enhance positive attitudes,and alleviate potential hesitations in caregiving for older *** the elderly population continues to grow,nursing education programs must prepare future practitioners to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to the unique needs of older adults.

A Meta-Analysis of Pension Models for Patients with Mental Disorders

Objective:To analyze the pension models available for patients with mental disorders and design a more suitable ***:A total of 135 pieces of literature in the database of China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)published from August 11,1970,to November 17,2022,were classified and analyzed.A knowledge map was drawn and the research context was sorted out from the aspects of temporal distribution,spatial distribution,research hotspots,and evolutionary trend,so as to reveal the research status and development trend in the field of pension for patients with mental ***:The temporal distribution of the literature in this review involved 20 disciplines,41 papers,2 information articles,40 authors,13 research levels,and 20 research *** terms of research hotspots and evolutionary trends,the keywords“disability pension,”“pension institutions,”and“patients with mental disorders”play a fundamental role in the dynamic evolution and diversification of research topics in the field of the mental disorder pension ***:There has been not much research on elderly care for patients with mental disorders,and it is still in the exploratory stage without a sustainable and stable research *** recent years,keywords such as“the combination of medical care,”“community care for the elderly,”and“intelligent care”for the elderly have become prominent and the number of related studies has increased,and the research quality in this field has also *** medical care for elderly patients with mental disorders will become the trend of future research.

Methodology of care Humanitude Implementation at an Integrated Continuing care Unit: Benefits for the Individuals Receiving care

The increasing number of elderly people with behavioral changes, agitation, aggressiveness, and refusal to receive care imposes new challenges to caregivers, who need to take ownership of innovative care methodologies to better take care of this group of people. Objective: To evaluate the benefits of the Humanitude care Methodology (HCM) in order to improve the health condition of people admitted in a Portuguese Integrated Continuing care Unit (UCCI). Methods: An action research study was conducted between September and December 2016. The sample consisted of 33 people who were admitted in this UCCI for at least 90 days. Monthly data collection, during four periods, using the Braden Scale, Morse Scale, Barthel Index and Mini Mental State Examination. The data was processed using the Statistical Package for Social Science, version 17.0. Results: The following decreases were observed: in individuals with cognitive deficit (93.94 percent to 81.82 percent);in individuals considered totally dependent (60.61 percent to 30.30 percent);at risk developing pressure ulcers (PU) (84.85 percent to 51.52 percent);in individuals who had PU (24.24 percent to 15.15 percent);in people with high risk of fall (45.45 percent to 39.39 percent);in the number of individuals with two antipsychotic prescriptions (27.27 percent to 9.09 percent). Conclusions: These results allowed to understand the positive benefits, of implementing the HCM, on the people receiving care, specifically at cognitive level, dependency level in activities of daily living, and the avoidance of physical and mental deterioration.

Globalization and Transformation of Family care

The effect of globalization on family care traditions has emerged as a significant issue of academic debate in recent years. Globalization and the growth of liberal market economy in local areas has rapidly transformed the traditional pattern of family structure, livelihood strategies of the family members, and care giving practices to the elderly in Nepal. Traditionally, the older people used to live in joint family comprised of their mamed son and their children. The reciprocal exchange of care between the parents and children was associated with the religious conception of virtue and vice. If the oft-springs would not take care for their parents, it was considered as a great sin. This tradition has been gradually eroding with the migration of youths to different destination in search of opportunities for their education and employment. This migratory process has weakened the traditional role of families as care giving institutions to old parents and disable member in the family. The old parents are now increasingly shelter to care homes for their caring. The children maintain their ties with their parents mainly by economic support for their maintenance. The old people have been unable to receive any moral care and support from other members of their family. This article examines the changes on the traditional responsibility of family as a care giving unit for the old people. It discusses the issues based on data gathered fllrough in-depfll interviews and case study of 37 senior citizens living in Siddhi Shaligram Senior Citizens Home （SSSCH） at Bhaktapur district. The secondary sources of information have also been used to shin-pen the conceptual issues related to this field
