A new effective potential for deuteron

We calculate for the first time the static properties of the deuteron, within the framework of supersymmetric quantum mechanics, analytically. A new effective potential and its partner are derived from a superpotential so that all parameters are fitted by the experimental data. An analytical expression is obtained for the deuteron wave function and contributions of the orthogonal ^(13)S_(1) and ^(13)D_(1) states are determined, explicitly. Compared to one pion exchange, the superpotential produces an electrostatic as well as two pion exchange terms for the potential. The saddle point radius of the potential and the maximum of the wave function are linearly proportional. In comparison with other methods, the approach presented in this paper is a new and extensible symmetry-based approach that, despite its straightforward calculations and explicit analytical expressions, provides a good explanation for two-body effective interactions such as two-nucleon systems and diatomic molecules.

Escape rate of an active Brownian particle in a rough potential

We discuss the escape problem with the consideration of both the activity of particles and the roughness of potentials.We derive analytic expressions for the escape rate of an active Brownian particle in two types of rough potentials by employing the effective equilibrium approach and the Zwanzig method.We find that activity enhances the escape rate,but both the oscillating perturbation and the random amplitude hinder escaping.

Ratchet motion and current motors in pulsating reversal of coupled Brownian symmetric potentials

In this study, we investigate the collective directed transport of coupled Brownian particles in spatially symmetric periodic potentials under time-periodic pulsating modulations. We find that the coupling between two particles can induce symmetry breaking and consequently collective directed motion. Moreover, the direction of motion can be reversed under certain conditions. The dependence of directed current on various parameters is systematically studied, reverse motion can be achieved by modulating the coupling free length and the phase shift of tile pulsating potential. The dynamical mechanism of these transport properties is understood in terms of the effective-potential theory and the space-time transformation invariance. The directed transport of coupled Brownian motors can be maniplflated and optimized by adjusting the coupling strength, pulsating frequency, or noise intensity.

Influence of dark energy on time-like geodesic motion in Schwarzschild spacetime

In this paper we investigate the influence of the dark energy on the time-like geodesic motion of a particle in Schwarzschild spacetime by analysing the behaviour of the effective potential which appears in an equation of motion. For the non-radial time-like geodesics, we find a bound orbit when the particle energy is in an appropriate range, and also find another possible orbit, which is that the particle drops straightly into the singularity of a black hole or escapes to infinity. For the radial time-like geodesics, we find an unstable circular orbit when the particle energy is the critical value, in which case it is possible for the particle to escape to infinity.

Double-temperature ratchet model and current reversal of coupled Brownian motors

On the basis of the transport features and experimental phenomena observed in studies of molecular motors, we propose a double-temperature ratchet model of coupled motors to reveal tile dynamical mechanism of cooperative transport of motors with two heads, where the interactions and asynchrony between two motor heads are taken into account. We investigate the collective unidirectional trans- port of coupled system and find that the direction of motion can be reversed under certain conditions. Reverse motion can be achieved by modulating the coupling strength, coupling free length, and asym- metric coefficient of the periodic potential, which is understood in terms of the effective potential theory. The dependence of the directed current on various parameters is studied systematically. Di- rected transport of coupled Brownian motors can be manipulated and optimized by adjusting the pulsation period or the phase shift of the pulsation temperature.
