Joseph Conrad in Heart of Darkness calls for the suppressed species on humanitarian grounds.In this sense,this paper aims to dredge how the suppressed species utter their voices of rebellion and form a special soundscape.The African natives make use of unique ways of drumming and shouting,to tell how they are enslaved and how they resist the domination of the British pilgrims.In the meanwhile,the black female also uses voices to rebel against her marginal condition compared to males,including white and her native males.By putting the story’s sound narrative in the framework of ecofeminism,this paper intends to not only disclose the rebellious spirit of those suppressed species,but also raise people’s awareness of caring for the living creatures in the marginal status,including women,the blacks,animals,and the ecological environment as a whole.

This paper probes into the view that how men,women and nature interact with each other in E.M.Forster’s novels from the perspective of ecofeminism.It analyzes the oppression of women and subjugation of nature in the patriarchal ideology in Forster’s works and summarizes the best to get rid of this phenomenon is by their mutual efforts,women and nature can eventually earn respect from men and establish a harmonious relationship among men,women and nature.

The Joy Luck Club is about the living experiences of four pairs of mothers and daughters which shows a mysterious Chinato western countries. Mothers had unforgettable sufferings in Chinese feudal society. Ecofeminists consider that the oppression onnature are linked to the oppression on women. Thus, solving ecological crisis is connected with female liberation. The author of thispaper tries to find out the link between women and nature and to explore the indications which women get from nature. It also commits to building a society where people and nature can co-exist harmoniously.

ecofeminism affords a brand-new perspective of pondering the causes of ecological crisis and solutions to diversified environmental problems by revealing the intrinsic link between nature and females, aiming to promoting females' significant role in this respect and to achieve the dual goal of the liberation of them two. The thesis is written to analyze the messages implicitly conveyed in the official video produced and published by the UNEP(United Nations Environment Programme) on World Environment Day in 2015 from the perspective of ecofeminism. It reveals that the male-dominated industrialization engenders severe ecological crisis and environmental problems, while their female counterparts tend to have a stronger connection with nature and devote themselves to alleviate ecological problems.

ecofeminism is a social and political movement which points to the existence of considerable common ground between environmentalism and feminism, with some currents linking deep ecology and feminism. Ecofeminists think that there are many similarities between the nature and women, one of which is the oppression posed by men. In some pieces of Nathaniel Hawthorne's works, readers can find some of the ecofeminism thoughts. In this paper, the author analyzes one of Nathaniel Hawthorne's great short stories—TheBirthmark—from the ecofeminism perspective.

Purpose:In this explorative,self-reflective article,I attempt to extend the methodological discussion of a“negative”approach to comparative education that I have recently articulated elsewhere.Here,I demonstrate how I attempted to put in practice negative comparative education by drawing on my experience at the Shanghai workshop,Beyond the Western Horizon in Educational Research,organized by Iveta Silova,Jeremy Rappleye,and Yun You at the East China Normal University.Design/Approach/Methods:I conceive my participation in the Shanghai workshop as a disruptive moment wherein my previous forms of knowing and being were challenged.More specifically,I discuss how my attempt to situate the ecofeminist and decolonial literature,the two of the three main bodies of literature introduced through the workshop,within the context of Japanese education triggered me to reconsider the role of Shinto in Japanese education and question my own firm identification with the liberal–left politics within Japan.Findings:I reflect upon how the initial sense of discomfort and the remaining sense of ambivalence took me on a journey of unlearning and relearning about the limits of my knowing,my own political subjectivities,and the place of Shinto cosmologies in Japanese education.Originality/Value:I conclude the discussion with a few provisional thoughts that point us to an approach to comparative education that makes our research“a matter of concern”across multiple linguistically bounded,national and regional scholarly communities.

ecofeminism is the outcome of women's liberation movement and environmental movement. It analyses ecological problems from the aspect of sex to deeply criticize male chauvinism. From the perspective of ecofeminism, this paper tries to analyze Hardy's representative novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles by describing the intricacy between women and nature, the tragic encounters and life experiences of Tess, and her thought changing during her miserable life. This paper aims to explore the practical significance of ecofeminism, calling on people to create a harmonious society where human and nature coexist together peacefully and equality between men and women are achieved.
