Consumption inequality may impede economic development and hinder the achievement of common prosperity.Using three waves of the China Family Panel Studies from 2014 to 2018,this paper investigated the impact of e-commerce on consumption inequality,as measured by the Kakwani index.The results indicate that e-commerce can reduce household consumption inequality.A mechanism analysis shows that e-commerce can narrow household income inequality,increase the purchasing power of low-income households,and promote the consumption of households with limited access to ofline markets,thereby reducing the consumption gap.A heterogeneity analysis suggests that the positive role of e-commerce in reducing consumption inequality can be more significant among vulnerable households,such as households with elderly members and less-educated households.e-commerce can have varying impacts on consumption inequality across different subcategories of household expenditure,with the greatest impact seen in entertainment and education expenditure.These findings provide new evidence for the role of e-commerce in reducing consumption inequality in the digital economy,and the implications of this are discussed.

This paper uses the Rural e-commerce Demonstration County(ReDC)policy to estimate the effect of e-commerce on poverty reduction.We discover that the ReDC policy enhanced the gross regional product per capita by 8.4 percent for the total sample of counties and 10.5 percent for a subsample of poor counties.Specifically,the ReDC policy increased the aggregate final product in primary industry by 10.6 percent.The final product per capita in the secondary and service sectors was 13.1 percent and 3.3 percent higher in the ReDCs than in other counties,respectively.The effects were even greater for the subsample of poor counties.The estimates demonstrate that e-commerce developed quickly in the ReDCs since the implementation of the ReDC policy.The income of those involved in e-commerce increased,yielding more aggregate savings deposits.The expansion of e-commerce induced more investment,suggesting that more aggregate loans are being made in ReDCs.This evidence suggests new opportunities for poor people in the new digital economy.

Information and communication technologies are spreading rapidly due to their fast proliferation in many fields.The number of Internet users has led to a spike in cyber-attack incidents.e-commerce applications,such as online banking,marketing,trading,and other online businesses,play an integral role in our lives.Network Intrusion Detection System(NIDS)is essential to protect the network from unauthorized access and against other cyber-attacks.The existing NIDS systems are based on the Backward Oracle Matching(BOM)algorithm,which minimizes the false alarm rate and causes of high packet drop ratio.This paper discussed the existing NIDS systems and different used pattern-matching techniques regarding their weaknesses and limitations.To address the existing system issues,this paper proposes an enhanced version of the BOM algorithm by using multiple pattern-matching methods for the NIDS system to improve the network performance.The proposed solution is tested in simulation with existing solutions using the Snort and NSL-KDD datasets.The experimental results indicated that the proposed solution performed better than the existing solutions and achieved a 5.17%detection rate and a 0.22%lower false alarm rate than the existing solution.

This paper studies the impact of logistics cooperation in two competing companies,one of which is equipped with a self-run logistics system while the other is not.The latter outsources logistics services to a third-party logistics company before logistics cooperation,or to its competitor after logistics cooperation with the client's service quality being in proportion to and no greater than the service provider's service quality.We find that when the service provider is a price taker,logistics cooperation is beneficial to both firms only when the service quality after logistics cooperation is moderate.Interestingly,under some circumstances,the client's profit increases even when its service quality decreases after logistics cooperation because logistics cooperation eases the price competition.We also find that all-win situations in which logistics cooperation increases the firms7 profit,consumer surplus and social welfare can be achieved.Finally,when the service price can be chosen by the service provider,we propose a negotiation process in which agreement on logistics cooperation can be reached;when the firm can invest in service quality,logistics cooperation may lower the equilibrium investment level.

e-commerce, driven by computer and internet technology, has experienced a significant growth in almost all fields during the past two decades. e-commerce has significantly changed the rules of business. Numerous research institutions and enterprises have made e-commerce more intelligent and convenient. Here, we propose a novel prototype of next-generation e-commerce platform with an architecture framework and theoretical models.each subject, including the individual, enterprise, and administrative department, has his/her personalized portal to complete the subject information synchronization, supply release, demand satisfaction, and social contact. By using the personalized portal, instead of the traditional trading platform, the consumers and suppliers can complete intelligent matching transactions without intermediate traders. Moreover, the overall transaction process can be reviewed, making the transaction safer, more transparent, and more interesting. Moreover, the interconnected personalized portals solve the isolated islands of information, and the counterparts support parallel processing.Thus, this may improve the operating efficiency of the entire society.

With in-depth development of the Internet of Things(IoT)in various industries,the informatization process of various industries has also entered the fast lane.This article aims to solve the supply chain process problem in e-commerce,focusing on the specific application of Internet of Things technology in e-commerce.Warehousing logistics is an important link in today’s e-commerce transactions.This article proposes a distributed analysis method for RFID-based e-commerce warehousing process optimization and an e-commerce supply chain management process based on Internet of Things technology.This article first introduces the advantages and disadvantages of shared IoT identification technology and the IoT resource sharing platform based on the three-layer abstract data model and representational state transfer(ReST)style.Combining actual IoT applications and the characteristics of an existing platform,a ReST-based IoT resource sharing platform is proposed.Combined with actual projects,a ReST-based IoT resource sharing platform was built,and key technology experiments were conducted for verification.Finally,optimizing the e-commerce supply chain management process under Internet of Things technology and explaining the advantages of optimized e-commerce supply chain management are discussed.Research on this subject provides a theoretical basis for the application of the Internet of Things in e-commerce and has practical significance and practical value for managing service capabilities and service levels in e-commerce.

Infra-Marginal Analysis Model for Provision Mode Selection for e-commerce Services

e-commerce has grown extraordinarily since the emergence of the internet, and many types of services are employed to accelerate this process. Service quality and productivity are two critical indicators to evaluate the competitiveness of e-commerce companies. Deciding which provision mode of e-commerce services （buy, sell, or self-provide） to adopt is a key operational strategy issue. This paper investigates the conditions and limitations of e-commerce services＇ optimal supply modes, and proposes a cost oriented infra-marginal model where service demand is considered an exogenous variable due to its non-elastic and unprofitable characteristics. By analyzing the main impact factors of this model, this paper infers provision mode selection strategies, which are determined by four factors： transaction cost, service price, service demand, and competitive advantages. Decision trees are derived from these strategies to help e-commerce companies make appropriate decisions. Finally, the proposed model＇s feasibility is verified by two case studies.

In e-commerce the multidimensional data analysis based on the Web data needs integrating various data sources such as XML data and relational data on the conceptual level. A conceptual data description approach to multidimensional data model the UML galaxy diagram is presented in order to conduct multidimensional data analysis for multiple subjects. The approach is illuminated using a case of 2_roots UML galaxy diagram that takes marketing analysis of TV products involved one retailer and several suppliers into consideration.

e-commerce plays an essential role in modern trade today.It is expected that e-commerce volume amounted to 29 trillion USD in the world in 2017,and would grow with the spread of the Internet and information and communication technologies(ICTs).Brazil,Russia,India,China and South Africa(BRICS),together with many others,consider e-commerce a means to facilitate rapid,inclusive and sustainable economic growth,improving the living standards and alleviating poverty.This article examines areas for potential cooperation by BRICS countries in e-commerce development across rural and remote areas to fight poverty.It analyses the current state of e-commerce development in rural and remote areas in each of the BRICS countries,including cases of public and private initiatives to support it.The article also defines the opportunities which e-commerce brings to people living in rural and remote areas.Moreover,it evaluates the existing challenges and risks.The article concludes that despite the rapid e-commerce development in BRICS countries,and significant opportunities created,there are still issues of disproportionate e-commerce in varied regions and the lack of BRICS cooperation in this sphere.Based on a comparative and normative in-depth,systematic analysis,the article develops a set of recommendations for deepening BRICS countries'cooperation in the following areas:infrastructure in rural and remote regions;education;consumer protection;online dispute resolution;coordinated policy in the international scene,including representation of BRICS countries in international indexes,such as the Organization of economic Co-operation and Development(OeCD)Digital Services Trade Restrictiveness Index(STRI).
