Polyploid plants typically display advantages on some agronomically important traits over their diploid *** studies have shown genetic,transcriptomic,and epigenetic dynamics upon polyploidization in multiple plant ***,few studies have unveiled those alternations imposed only by ploidy level,without any interference from *** potato is highly ***,in this study,we developed two homozygous autotetraploid lines and one homozygous diploid line in parallel from a homozygous diploid *** confirmed their ploidy levels using chloroplast counting and ***-FISH and genome re-sequencing validated that these potato lines are nearly *** investigated variations in phenotypes,transcription,and histone modifications between two *** autotetraploid lines produced larger but fewer tubers than the diploid ***,each autotetraploid line displayed ploidy-related differential expression for various *** also discovered a genomewide enrichment of H3K27ac in genic regions upon whole-genome doubling(WGD).However,such enrichment was not associated with the differential gene expression between two *** tetraploid lines may exhibit better resistance to cold-induced sweetening(CIS)than the diploid line in tubers,potentially regulated through the expression of CIS-related key genes,which seems to be associated with the levels of H3K4me3 in cold-stored *** findings will help to understand the impacts of autotetraploidization on dynamics of phenotypes,transcription,and histone modifications,as well as on CIS-related genes in response to cold storage.

We give a differential-geometric construction of Calabi-Yau fourfolds by the‘doubling’method,which was introduced in Doi and Yotsutani(N Y J Math 20:1203-1235,2014)to construct Calabi-Yau *** also give examples of Calabi-Yau fourfolds from toric Fano *** in our construction are admissible pairs,which were first dealt with by Kovalev(J Reine Angew Math 565:125-160,2003).Here in this paper an admissible pair(X,D)consists of a compact Kähler manifold X and a smooth anticanonical divisor D on *** two admissible pairs(X_(1),D_(1))and(X_(2),D_(2))with dimC X_(i)=4 satisfy the gluing condition,we can glue X_(1)\D_(1)and X_(2)\D_(2)together to obtain a compact Riemannian 8-manifold(M,g)whose holonomy group Hol(g)is contained in Spin(7).Furthermore,if theA-genus of M equals 2,then M is a Calabi-Yau fourfold,i.e.,a compact Ricci-flat Kähler fourfold with holonomy SU(4).In particular,if(X_(1),D_(1))and(X_(2),D_(2))are identical to an admissible pair(X,D),then the gluing condition holds automatically,so that we obtain a compact Riemannian 8-manifold M with holonomy contained in Spin(7).Moreover,we show that if the admissible pair is obtained from any of the toric Fano fourfolds,then the resulting manifold M is a Calabi-Yau fourfold by computing^A(M)=2.

An all-solid-state single-frequency 1064 nm laser with a 100 μs pulse width, 500 Hz repetition rate and 700 m J single pulse energy is designed using seed injection and a three-stage master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA) *** this as a basis, research on long-pulse laser frequency doubling is carried out. By designing and optimizing the lithium triborate(LBO) crystal, the theoretically calculated maximum conversion efficiency ηmax reaches 68% at M2=1, while ηminis 33% at M2=3. Generation of 212 m J pulses of green light with a repetition rate as high as500 Hz is obtained from a fundamental energy of 700 m J. The experimental conversion efficiency reaches 31% and the power stability is better than±1%.

As early as the end of the 1960s, people already put forward an idea of LSFD *** 1979 V. G. Dmitriev et al. first produced LSFD Nd:LN crystal and observed thephenomenon of LSFD in their laboratory. In 1981 L. M. Dorozhkin et al. reportedthe LSFD effect of NYAB crystal from 1.32μm to 0.66μm. In 1990 N. Y. Chou etal. first briefly reported the investigation on the third LSFD Cr:KTP crystal. Be-fore 1990 we had begun to study the Cr:KTP crystal in our laboratory.

It is revealed in frictional experiments on medium-scale samples that period doubling bifurcation of stress drop for stick-slip occurs due to macroscopic heterogeneity of the sliding surface under conditions for typical *** observed data show that the period doubling bifurcation of stress drop results from the alternate occurrence of strain release along the whole fault and along part of *** implies that complicated nonlinear behavior corresponds to clear physical implication in some cases.

From the theories of the nuclear hyperfine structure (HFS) and A doubling of diatomic molecules, several brief algebraic equations for interpretation of HFS and A doubling of transitions of diatomic molecule have been developed. A few important parameters of HFS and A doubling of 15N16O have been efficiently and accurately obtained from the analysis of the high resolution spectra of 15N16O (X2Π) observed in our experiments with these equations. This method can provide an effective approach to obtain important hyperfine parameters of novel radicals from their high resolution laser magnetic resonance spectra.
