A layout and connection optimization for static frequency divider is presented. The layout optimization provides a new circle topology transistors placement and reasonable connection structure, which reduces the parasitic effectively and enables self-oscillation frequency enhancement. Besides, bandwidth enhancement techniques based on a center-tap capacitor in input balun design and inductive peaking in latch design are adopted to improve further high frequency performance with low power consumption. As a proof of concept, design of a divide-by-2 static frequency divider in 0.13 μm SiGe BiCMOS technology is reported. With single-ended input clock signal, the divider is measured to be operated from 40 to 90 GHz. Phase noise measurements of a 90 GHz input clock signal indicate ideal behavior with no measurable noise contribution from the divider. The divider followed by a buffer that can deliver more than-10 dBm output power, which is sufficient to drive succeeding stage. To the author's knowledge, the divider exhibits a competitive power dissipation and the highest FOM among silicon based frequency dividers that operating higher than 70 GHz.

Determining the voltage ratio change is one of the core issues in the traceability of the DC voltage divider.Basing on the previous research results,this study proposes an improved DC voltage summation method to evaluate the voltage division ratio error of 1000 kV DC resistance divider.The principle of the method is to calibrate the voltage divider with rated voltage 2U by using two auxiliary voltage dividers which are with rated voltage U,wherein the high-voltage(HV)arm and the low-voltage arm of the auxiliary voltage divider can be separated.Research results show that compared with the conventional method,the method can reduce one measurement variable when determining the divider's ratio change,thus simplifying the calibration process.The voltage ratio of 100 kV measured by the method of this study was well-verified by the calibration results from the National Institute of Metrology(NIM,China)and Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt(PTB,Germany).Using the proposed method,the ratio change of DC voltage divider at an applied voltage of 1000 kV was effectively obtained and the uncertainty of 2.5μV/V was achieved.Research results can provide technical guarantee for the accurate measurement of HVDC magnitude.

A fractional frequency divider based on phase switching and negative feedback delta-sigma modulator(NF-DSM) is presented. The phase switching circuit, realized by switching 8 signals generated by a divider-by-4 circuit, is adopted to reduce the frequency division step. The NF-DSM, which can obtain smooth output spectra, is proposed to generate the fractional part of the division ratio, moreover, the integer part of the division ratio is realized by a divider-by-2/3 circuit chain. Fabricated in TSMC 0.18 μm RF CMOS technology, the fractional frequency divider achieves a measured operation frequency from 0.5 GHz to 8 GHz. With a 1.8 V supply voltage, the maximum current consumption of the whole divider is 17.5 mA, and the chip area is 0.58 mm^2, including the pads.

An injection-Locked divider(ILD)can provide good synchronization at lower inputsignal to noise ratio,which is its advantage over other types of divider.The general expressionof phase equation and equivalent model are presented for the ILD with an input additive noise.In the absence of noise the performance of the phase-modulated signal through the ILD andsynchronous ranges of the ILD are given.The effects of the additive noise on the ILD arediscuued.The injection-locked amplifier(ILA)is only a particular case in which n=1,thereforethe given results arc applicable to the ILA.

In this paper, two ultra-wide band power dividers are introduced. Compact equal power divider is considered firstly where an extended transmission lines and double open stubs are used in order to increase the bandwidth. Secondly, an unequal UWB power divider is introduced where multi-stage impedance is used. The proposed power dividers are fabricated and measured. The overall sizes of the proposed power dividers are 11.37 × 17.87 mm2 for the equal one and 12.13 × 29.03 mm2 for the unequal power divider. The simulated results are compared with the measured results and good agreement is obtained.

This study provided a new configuration of the 180-deg round turned channel with a perforated divider, as well as numerically investigated the effect of perforations, including the diameter of perforation and the angel of perforation, on the fluid flow and heat transfer. The numerical results appeared in good agreement with previous experimental data under the same operating conditions. The results indicated that large size and positive angle of perforation changed the fluid flow pattern and the local Nusselt-number distribution fundamentally. It is noteworthy that a more uniform distribution of Nusselt-number was achieved by increasing the diameter of perforation.

In this paper, a 30 GHz wide locking-range (26.2 GHz-35.7 GHz) direct injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD), which operating in the millimeter-wave (MMW) band, is presented. The locking range of the ILFD is extended by using differential injection topology. Besides, varactors are used in RLC resonant tank for extending the frequency tuning range. The post simulation results show that a wide locking-range of 9.5 GHz (30.7%) is achieved. When the VCO output frequency varies from 26.85 GHz to 34.42 GHz, the proposed ILFD can achieve divide-by-two correctly. Designed in 0.13 μm CMOS technology, the ILFD occupies a core area of 0.76 mm2 while drawing 7 mA of current from 2.5 V power supply.

To meet the specification of the qubits in our laboratory,a 0.4 kA·cm^-2 superconducting rapid single flux quantum(RSFQ) circuit was designed and successfully fabricated with an improved Nb-based self-aligned lift-off process.This circuit consists of a single-fluxquantum(SFQ) pulse generator,a Josephson transmission line(JTL) and a T-flip flop(TFF),and it acts as a frequency divider.The values of the inductors in this circuit were extracted using InductEX and the basic function of this circuit was confirmed using the simulation software WRspice before fabrication.After fabrication,the basic parameters of this circuit were measured at ~2.5 K in a Janis He-3 cryostat.This work laid the theoretical and experimental basis for the future research on the RSFQqubit control circuits.

With a lot of millimeter-wave(mm-Wave)applications being issued,wideband circuits and systems have attracted much attention because of their strong applicability and versatility.In this paper,four transformer-based ultra-wideband mm-Wave circuits demonstrated in CMOS technologies are reviewed from theoretical analysis,implementation,to performance.First,we introduce a mm-Wave low-noise amplifier with transformer-based Gm-boosting and pole-tuning techniques.It achieves wide operating bandwidth,low noise figure,and good gain performance.Second,we review an injection-current-boosting technique which can significantly increase the locking range of mm-Wave injection-locked frequency triplers.Based on the injectionlocked principle,we also discuss an ultra-wideband mm-Wave divider with the transformer-based high-order resonator.Finally,an E-band up-conversion mixer is presented;using the two-path transconductance stage and transformer-based load,it obtains good linearity and a large operating band.
