Teratomas are embryonal neoplasms that arise when totipotential germ cells escape the developmental control of primary organizers and give rise to tumors containing tissue derived from all three blastodermic layers. Teratomas have been reported to occur in various sites and organs. Teratoma of the cervical neck are relatively rare in adulthood. It usually extends from the neck to the thoracic cavity causing local mass effect. In most of the cases intrauterine diagnosis is possible by ultrasound. Because of dyspnea due to mass effect, this condition is treated promptly after birth. However cases of teratoma in adulthood with supraclavicular localization have been reported rarely in the literature. The presented case is of a 25-year-old female with a cervical mass. Histological examination revealed a benign mature teratoma. The patient has been disease free for more than nine years after surgical removal of a neck teratoma.

AIM To analyze the survival trends in colorectal cancer(CRC) based on the different classifications recommended by the seventh and eighth editions of the American Joint Committee on Cancer staging system(AJCC-7^(th) and AJCC-8^(th)).METHODS The database from our institution was queried to identify patients with pathologically confirmed stage 0-Ⅳ CRC diagnosed between 2006 and 2012. Data from 2080 cases were collected and 1090 cases were evaluated through standardized inclusion and exclusion criteria. CRC was staged by AJCC-7^(th) and then restaged by AJCC-8^(th). Five-year disease-free survival(DFS) and overall survival(OS) were compared. SPSS 21.0 software was used for all data. DFS and OS were compared and analyzed by Kaplan-Meier and Log-rank *** Linear regression and automatic linear regression showed lymph node positive functional equations by tumornode-metastasis staging from AJCC-7^(th) and tumornode-metastasis staging from AJCC-8^(th). Neurological invasion, venous infiltration, lymphatic infiltration, and tumor deposition put forward stricter requirements for pathological examination in AJCC-8^(th) compared to AJCC-7^(th). After re-analyzing our cohort with AJCC-8^(th),the percentage of stage ⅣB cases decreased from 2.8% to 0.8%. As a result 2% of the cases were classified under the new ⅣC staging. DFS and OS was significantly shorter(P = 0.012) in stage ⅣC patients compared to stage ⅣB *** The addition of stage ⅣC in AJCC-8^(th) has shown that peritoneal metastasis has a worse prognosis than distant organ metastasis in our institution's CRC cohort. Additional datasets should be analyzed to confirm these findings.

A stochastic SIR epidemic dynamic model with distributed-time-delay, for a two-scale dynamic population is derived. The distributed time delay is the varying naturally acquired immunity period of the removal class of individuals who have recovered from the infection, and have acquired natural immunity to the disease. We investigate the stochastic asymptotic stability of the disease free equilibrium of the epidemic dynamic model, and verify the impact on the eradication of the disease.

We present in this article an epidemic model with saturated in metapopulation setting. We develop the mathematical modelling of HIV transmission among adults in Metapopulation setting. We discussed the positivity of the system. We calculated the reproduction number, If ?for , then each infectious individual in Sub-Population j infects on average less than one other person and the disease is likely to die out. Otherwise, if ?for , then each infectious individual in Sub-Population j infects on average more than one other person;the infection could therefore establish itself in the population and become endemic. An epidemic model, where the presence or absence of an epidemic wave is characterized by the value of ?both ideas of the inner equilibrium point of stability properties are discussed.

There have been many mathematical models aimed at analysing the in-vivo dynamics of HIV. However, in most cases the attention has been on the interaction between the HIV virions and the CD4+ T-cells. This paper brings in the intervention of the CD8+ T-cells in seeking, destroying, and killing the infected CD4+ T-cells during early stages of infection. The paper presents and analyses a five-component in-vivo model and applies the results in investigating the in-vivo dynamics of HIV in presence of the CD8+ T-cells. We prove the positivity and the boundedness of the model solutions. In addition, we show that the solutions are biologically meaningful. Both the endemic and virions- free equilibria are determined and their stability investigated. In addition, the basic reproductive number is derived by the next generation matrix method. We prove that the virions-free equilibrium state is locally asymptotically stable if and only if R0 < 1 and unstable otherwise. The results show that at acute infection the CD8+ T-cells play a paramount role in reducing HIV viral replication. We also observe that the model exhibits backward and trans-critical bifurcation for some set of parameters for R0 . This is a clear indication that having R0 is not sufficient condition for virions depletion.

In this paper, the basic reproduction number is calculated for Huanglongbing (HLB) model with impulses which is a vector-borne epidemic model with impulses. For controlling HLB, farmers’ experience is replanting of healthy plants and removing infected plants. To reflect the real world, we construct an impulsive control model which considers replanting of healthy plants and removing infected plants at one fixed time. By analyzing the model, we conclude that the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if the basic reproduction number Ro 1, and we prove that the HLB is permanence if the basic reproduction number Ro > 1.
