Simple schizophrenia revisited: Its schizophrenic body image deviation

Simple schizophrenia has not yet been recognized as a well-established diagnostic category as one of the subtypes of schizophrenia, however, its inclusion to the official diagnostic system is regarded as urgent for early intervention. Here, we report our new observation that body image distortion uniquely found in typical schizophrenia, as reflected in the perception of mass of flesh of living objects in the whole or part of the Rorschach stimuli (Koide et al., 2002), was shown in the patients conforming to the original description of simple schizophrenia, to revisit its relatedness to schizophrenia from a cognitive and perceptual point of view. The Rorschach test was administered to four inpatients of a local mental hospital, showing social and occupational decline, negative symptoms and absence of positive symptoms. The presence or absence of Rorschach flesh mass body image percepts was examined. All of four patients revealed Rorschach mass of flesh responses. The fact that simple schizophrenia exhibited the same body image distortion in the flesh mass passive global perception with typical schizophrenia suggests the adequacy of reconsidering simple schizophrenia as a form of schizophrenia.

Objectives: We propose a surgical correction of the penile curvature applying a technique based on the 16-dot plication technique modified by burying the knots in a shallow trough of incised tunica. We entitle this modification the “Kiel Knots”. Material and methods: 20 patients with a penile deviation, average age 36.8 years (24 - 52) were operated. Follow-up time was 26 months. In 8 patients the deviation was congenital, in 12 patients it was an acquired deviation. The deviation was >30? in all patients. Surgical technique: A circumcising incision was made and the penis was degloved. Buck’s fascia was incised exposing the tunica albuginea opposite the curvature. 8 dots were marked bilaterally on the tunica albugineaand a5 mmincision along the marks was made without cutting into the Corpus cavernosum. Instead of plicating with one suture for 4 dots, our modification uses one suture for two dots with the knot buried in a shallow trough created by a scalpel. Results: The average operation time was 64 minutes. We observed a loss of penile length in 30% of the patients (0.5 - 1 cm). There were no problems with erectile function. In a follow-up of 2 years, 90% of the patients remained without recurrence of deviation. None of patients reported problems with the suture knots. Conclusion: Our technique achieves penile straightening with minimal loss of length and no erectile dysfunction.

Song is one of Christina Georgina Rossetti's most outstanding death poems,dealing with the main themes that she concerns:death,love and religion.This paper tries to use the technique of deviation that refers to violations to the standard language and readers'expectations to interpret this poem's stylistic features from the aspects of grammar,phonology,image,theme and narrative point of view.Through the stylistic analysis with the method of deviation,its solemn theme is exposed clearly.

Emily Dickinson,one of the most celebrated American poets,writes nearly 1800 poems during her lifetime.Her poetry,a flower rooted in Puritanism,expresses the poetess's love for life,mediation on nature and religion,and longing for beauty and truth.Along with Walt Whitman,Dickinson is regarded as the pioneer of American modernistic poetry.However,studies on such a great poet are mainly from the perspective of literary criticism,and few of them are from the linguistic approach.This thesis will give a detailed analysis of one of her poems in the perspective of deviation,so as to reveal her unique stylistic features.

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis utilizes particle size which is resulted from milling of a material. The milling ensures uniform and fine grained powder. The finer and more uniform the particle size is, the better the result and easier it is for material quality control. To ensure uniformity in particle size and finer powder, a comparative analysis was conducted with different grinding aids and pressed pellet method was used in obtaining analysis results. Pressed pellets of cement raw meal sample milled with different grinding aids (graphite, aspirin and lithium borate) were subjected to XRF. Graphite produced better particle size uniformity with a corresponding standard deviation that made quality control of raw meal easier and better than aspirin and lithium borate.

Evaluation index system of agricultural sustainable development is constructed with the four components of social index,agricultural economic index,resources index,and environment index.According to the comprehensive evaluation model of agricultural sustainable development with the participation of single person,comprehensive evaluation model of agricultural sustainable development with the smallest generalized deviation and the participation of many people is established.Based on the case studies,agricultural sustainable development status of a certain region is evaluated.Result shows that the evaluation scores of the social index and agricultural economic index are high in this region,but the score of resources index is general and the evaluation result of environment index is not very good.The comprehensive evaluation value of overall sustainable development is 0.665 5;and the evaluation result is "good".
