Software design pattern mining using classification-based techniques

design patterns are often used in the development of object-oriented software. It offers reusable abstract information that is helpful in solving recurring design problems. Detecting design patterns is beneficial to the comprehension and maintenance of object-oriented software systems. Several pattern detection techniques based on static analysis often encounter problems when detecting design patterns for identical structures of patterns. In this study, we attempt to detect software design patterns by using software metrics and classification-based techniques. Our study is conducted in two phases： creation of metrics-oriented dataset and detection of software design patterns. The datasets are prepared by using software metrics for the learning of classifiers. Then, pattern detection is performed by using classification-based techniques. To evaluate the proposed method, experiments are conducted using three open source software programs, JHotDraw, QuickUML, and JUnit, and the results are analyzed.

A UML profile for framework modeling

The current standard Unified Modeling Language(UML) could not model framework flexibility and extendibility adequately due to lack of appropriate constructs to distinguish framework hot spots from kernel elements. A new UML profile that may customize UML for framework modeling was presented using the extension mechanisms of UML, providing a group of UML extensions to meet the needs of framework modeling. In this profile, the extended class diagrams and sequence diagrams were defined to straightforwardly identify the hot spots and describe their instantiation restrictions. A transformation model based on design patterns was also put forward, such that the profile based framework design diagrams could be automatically mapped to the corresponding implementation diagrams. It was proved that the presented profile makes framework modeling more straightforwardly and therefore easier to understand and instantiate.

Graphical user interface (GUI) design is a core part of games development, as it is responsible for the look and feel of a game to players. However, GUI design is often overlooked and also time consuming. This paper presents a novel architecture design of a lightweight extensible GUI framework for games to ease the pains of GUI design. Firstly, the core architecture of the GUI framework is described. Secondly, main concepts about the framework, such as GUIControl, Input handling and GUISkin, are further explained. Thirdly, illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the GUI framework. Finally, we summarize characteristics and advantages of this GUI framework. These show that the GUI framework is a lightweight one which also of great extensibility.

With the development of the mobile internet and computer software, the requirements for portability, encapsulation and expansibility of computer software system are increasingly high. The traditional three-tier architecture is no longer applicable because of its limitations in the current application environment. Consider the problem of platform migration, changes in the demand and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance. In recent years, exploration direction in software system development is increasingly turned to the procedural framework and design patterns. In this paper, we propose a fourtier architecture, which is introduced a new layer-a data service layer into traditional three-tier architecture. We describe the advantages of the four-tier architecture from the structure, and apply it to the design and development of TV shopping integrated audio management platform.

＜正＞To analysis the influence of application of design patterns to software safety,we carry out a case study on bridge pattern with SFTA（Software Fault Tree Analysis）.The result shows that the application of bridge pattern will make the safety reduce 50%,but the introduction of the pattern can decouple the software modules and redundancy design can be *** redundancy will improve software safety by 2 orden of *** conclusion is valuable for object-oriented design of safety-critical software and the method can also be used to analyze safety of other design patterns.
