A series of novel pyrazole-based lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 （Lp-PLA2） inhibitors have been de- signed and synthetized by a variety of acetophenones via a 10-step convergent approach. The synthetic approach is carefully optimized, and an unsuccessful alternative route is also discussed. The in vitro biological activity reveals that all the synthesized compounds are potent Lp-PLA2 inhibitors with compound 13b being the most potent one （Lp-PLA2, IC50= 1.5 nmol/L）.

This paper focuses on the issues of introducing a SSTx ASR into the terminal environment. The primary concern is the waveform and the sidelobe resolution issues that result. The key waveform requirements were derived and presented along with the identification of the design parameters that impact the new Westinghouse radar's design. Performance of the FAA's premier terminal radar, the Westinghouse ASR-9, was used as the requirements bench mark. A properly designed SSTx ASR will provide the same aircraft and weather detection capabilities, and provide the false target rejection performance that presently exists within the ASR-9. The paper concludes with a brief view of the Modular ASR (MODASR), SSTx ASR presently in development at Westinghouse. Converting the Klystron tube ASR-9 into an equivalent SSTx radar involves major changes to almost every subassembly to satisfactorily address critical issues presented within this paper.

A novel micro-opto-electro-mechanical system （MOEMS） accelerometer based on Raman-Nath diffraction is presented. It mainly consists of an FPW delay line oscillator and optical strip waveguides. The fun- damental theories and principles of the device are introduced briefly. A flexural plate-wave delay-line oscillator is designed to work as an acousto-optic （AO） shifter, which has a Klein-Cook parameter of 0.38. Single-mode optical strip waveguides of 2 μm in width and thicknesses of 0.6 μm are designed by using the effective index method for light transmission. The E^y00 mode waveguide polarizers are designed to ensure the consistency of the light polarization in the waveguides. The fabrication process, based on （100） oriented, 450-#m-thick silicon wafers is proposed in detail, and some difficulties in the process are discussed carefully. At last, a series of process tests are undertaken to solve the proposed problems. The results indicate that the proposed design and fabrication process of the device is dependable and realizable.

The underwater tapping machine is composed of a center bit, a tapping cutter, a seal box, a main drive box, a boring bar assembly, a envelop, a gear case, a counter and so on. The drive system in underwater tapping machine consists of a worm drive, a gear drive system and a screw drive. The worm drive is in the main drive box. The worm is connected with a hydraulic motor and driven by the hydraulic motor. The gear drive system is a combined gear train which is the combinations of the fixed axes and differential gear train in the gear case. On the one hand, by means of the fixed axes gear trains the turn and power of transmission shaft are transferred to the boring bar and the screw rod, causing differential turn between the boring bar and the screw rod. On the other hand, the turns of the boring bar and the screw rod are transferred to the differential gear train. The differential gear train is used to drive a special counter to count axial travel of the boring bar. The screw drive is composed of a feed screw and a nut on the boring bar. There is the differential turn between the boring bar and the feed screw. By means of the nut, the boring bar can feed automatically. With the movement of the sliding gear 7 in the gear case, the designed drive system can also be provided with the ability of fast forward and fast backward movement of the boring bar in its idle motion, resulting in the increase of the tapping efficiency.

Diabetes is a serious, long-term (or chronic) disease that occurs when a person’s blood sugar levels are high because their body cannot produce enough insulin, or does not produce enough insulin or that it cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. According to the literature, this disease has several causes, but certain types of diabetes such as type 2 diabetes are most closely linked to a metabolic disorder due to abdominal obesity. Thus, the number of individuals with type 2 diabetes is increasing. It is with this in mind that we work to improve human health. The aim of this study is to design new derivatives of 1,3,4-thiadiazole with improved antidiabetic activity by the mathematical model of multiple linear regression (MLR) established previously. The analysis of the effect on the substituents influencing the antidiabetic activity, fourteen (14) new molecules coded CDTH were generated and presenting values of the potential of inhibitory concentration higher than that of the base compound (pIC50 = 2.526). But thirteen (13) of these new compounds belong to the domain of applicability of the MLR model established previously. In addition, the thermodynamic quantities of formation formed at 298K have been calculated. Lipinski’s rule and pharmacokinetic properties proved that five (5) (TH4, TH9, TH10, TH13 and TH14) new molecules can be used as diabetes medicine.

Novel chiral tetralin compounds were designed and synthesized, and their antifungal activities in vitro were tested. The results showed that all of target compounds had potent antifungal activities, and were stronger than that of control compounds tetrahydroisoquinolines. The binding model of lead molecules in the active site of CYP51 of Candida albicans showed that lead compound specifically interacted with the amino acids residues in the active site, without binding with the heme of CYP51, which was different from azole antifungal drugs. The present study might afford a novel lead molecule to develop non-azole CYP51 inhihitars of fungi.

This paper discusses the design of a customer satisfaction measurement index system of erpress mail service. It presents objectives and principles of the design based on hierarchical structures. We have devised a diagram for modeling customer satisfaction, and a detailed analysis of customer satisfaction is conducted. This paper presents our customer satisfaction model and analysis results.
