Petrogenesis and Tectonics of the Naruo Porphyry Cu(Au) Deposit Related Intrusion in the Duolong Area,Central Tibet

The Duolong area is the most important part of the Western Bangong-Nujiang Suture Zone porphyry Cu（Au） metallogenic belt, in Tibet, China. Here new detailed data are presented from LAICP-MS zircon U-Pb, whole-rock geochemical, and in-situ zircon Hf isotope analyses for igneous rocks in the large Naruo deposit（2.51 Mt of Cu and 82 t of Au） which is located ~2 km NE of the Duolong（Duobuza and Bolong） super-large gold-rich porphyry copper deposit. We integrated our results with previous research of other porphyry deposits in the Duolong area and have identified the timing, geodynamic setting, and petrogenesis of the mineralization-associated magmatic events. Based on the measurements, the Duolong area porphyry Cu（Au） deposit formations are associated with Early Cretaceous intermediate-felsic magmatism, which is consistent with U-Pb zircon ages of 120 Ma. All the main intrusive rocks in the ore-concentrated area have similar lithogeochemical characteristics; they show a relative enrichment in both light rare earth elements（LREEs） and large-ion lithophile elements（LILEs： Rb, Ba, K, etc.） and relative depletion in both heavy rare earth elements（HREEs） and high field strength elements（HFSEs： Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, etc.）. Moreover, the granite porphyry shows positive εHf（t） values between 1.38–7.37 suggesting that magmas were potentially derived from the partial melting of a depleted mantle wedge that had been metasomatized by subducted slab-derived fluids or melts. This paper points out that the formation of the porphyry-epithermal Cu（Au） deposit in the Duolong area was dominated by northward subduction of the Bangongco Tethys Plate beneath the Qiangtang block in the Early Cretaceous（124–114 Ma）, when the subducted oceanic crust reached 50–70 km underground and generated different degrees of phase transformation, which lead to a melt produced by dehydration of amphibole minerals, a metasomatized mantle wedge, and induced mantle partial melting that produced the magma. Postcollisional mantle-derived magmatism, underplating and implications for basement of the Junggar Basin

The late Paleozoic postcollisional granitoids, mafic-ultramafic complexes, and volcanic rocks are extensively distributed around the Junggar Basin; they are generally characterized by positive εNd(t) values, implying that the magmas were mantle-derived and contaminated with crustal materials to some extents. The emplacement of mantle-derived magmas and their differentiates in the upper crust is the expression of deep geological processes at shallow level, while much more mantle-derived magmas were underplated in the lower crust and the region near the crust-mantle boundary, being component part of basement of the Junggar Basin. The postcollisional mafic-ultramafic complexes would not be generated by re-melting of residual oceanic crust, which was considered as the basement of the Junggar Basin, unless very high degrees of partial melting occurred. Even if old continental crust had been present before collision, it would have been strongly modified by the mantle-derived magma underplating. This interpretation is compatible with the existing geophysical data.

The Boninite-like Dolerites in the Xigaze Ophiolites, Tibet: Similar to the MORB-like Dolerites

The Early Cretaceous Xigaze ophiolites(XO)exposed along the central segment of the more than 2000 km long Yarlung Zangbo Suture Zone in southern Tibet,preserved the structure of the upper mantle and oceanic crust,is interpreted as a definite record of Neo-Tethys oceanic *** evolution models of the XO have been proposed since the 1980s(Nicolas et al.,1981;Hébert et al.,2012;Maffione et al.,2015).However,the geodynamic environment of the XO whether at a MOR or SSZ remains *** key evidence for the identification of the SSZ ophiolite,the boninite-like dolerites from the XO are still controversial and poorly constraint(Chen et al.,2003;Bao et al.,2013;Dai et al.,2013).According to previous reports,dolerites were subdivided to MORB-like type and boninite-like type(Chen et al.,2003;Dai et al.,2013).Apart from high-SiO2(>52 wt%),high MgO(>8 wt%)and low-TiO2(mantle sequence of the XO,with 50.35–56.80 wt%SiO2,0.32–1.19 wt%TiO2,7.39–8.89 wt%Fe2O3T,5.50–10.42 wt%MgO and Mg#of 0.49–***-like dolerites display trace element and REE patterns similar to those of most fore-arc or/and back-arc basalts from Izu-Bonin-Mariana(IBM),*** in large ion lithophile elements(LILEs,***,Rb,Ba,Pb,U)and depletion in high-field strength elements(HFSE,Nb,Ta)(Fig.1).Boninite-like dolerites resemble the MORB-like dolerites in trace elements and REE patterns,excepting for lower concentrations in REE,but distinct from the boninites discovered from the IBM or Troodos ophiolite(Fig.1c,d).Th in both dolerites deviate from the MORB array with negative slopes on the Th/Yb ***/Yb diagram(Fig.2a),suggesting constant subduction component added to the mantle source(Pearce et al.,1995).We chose depleted MORB source mantle(DMM,Workman and Hart,2005)as the starting composition computing immobile element contents for primary melt
