An MCDM approach to assessing influential factors on healthcare providers’safe performance during the COVID-19 pandemic:Probing into demographic variables

This study assessed the influence of occupational stress,individual resilience,and organizational resilience on the safety performance of healthcare providers during the COVID-19 *** variables including age,work experience,and gender were *** were collected from 344 healthcare providers employed at a teaching *** entropy method and the multi-criteria decision-making(MCDM)method were used to examine the influence of occupational stress,individual resilience,and organizational resilience on the safe performance of healthcare *** results of the entropy method showed that organizational resilience was the most influential factor in the safe performance of older healthcare *** contrast,individual resilience was the most significant factor in enhancing the safety performance of younger healthcare *** of work experience indicated that individual resilience was the most influential factor in the safe performance of less experienced healthcare ***-based analysis revealed that individual resilience had a major effect on the safety performance of both women and *** findings of this study could assist managers in improving the performance of the healthcare sector during pandemics by using and implementing resilience concepts at both the individual and organizational levels.

Relationships between demographic variables and Breast Self-Examination among Women in a Rural Community South East of Nigeria

This study examined the relationships between demographic variables of women in a rural community, South East of Nigeria and their practice of Breast Self-Examination (BSE). A descriptive survey design was adopted. The study population of 349 was drawn using system atichousehold sampling technique. Two research questions and three null hypotheses guided the study. The instruments used for data collection were validated structured questionnaire which was interview administered. demographic information of the women such was also obtained for the study. The result indicated significant correlation between respondents’ educational level and BSE. There was however no significance difference between age, parity and BSE. There was need for community health nurses to reinforce home visits in order to enhance the awareness of breast cancer and needed skill for BSE among the rural populace while liberal education irrespective of age should be instituted by the Government.

Measuring the Semantic-Perceptual Components of Environmental Quality in Sanandaj, Iran

The aim of this study is to measure the semantic-perceptual components of environmental *** this end, we, using the Cochran formula, selected 343 residents from the Qatar-chyan neighborhood of Sanandaj, Iran. After devising a questionnaire, which includes queries relating to identity, sense of place, legibility, and safety indicators, and 23 other sub-indicators, we employed this questionnaire in the data collection. Making use of an independent-sample t-test, we also specified the status of environmental quality in the neighborhood. In order to compare peoples’ opinions in terms of demographic variables and examine the relationship between these demographic variables and 22 semantic-perceptual sub-indicators, a one-way ANOVA and a Spearman ordinal correlation were used, respectively. The results indicated that although the environmental quality of the Qatar-chyan neighborhood was significantly high(5 > 3.08 > 1), the functional,semantic-perceptual, and aesthetic components were actually significantly higher. In terms of the semantic-perceptual indicators, identity, sense of place, and legibility were all significantly higher than the mean, while safety was significantly lower. There also existed significant differences with respect to the demographic variables.

The aim was to investigate effects of different groups of individuals (residents, tourists, experts, decision makers and members of tourist industry) and demographic variables (gender, age, education) on climate change-related concerns, beliefs and emotions. In line with the predictions: 1) Experts were shown to be least concerned for and afraid of climate change impact;2) Youngest participants were found to be most, and oldest least, concerned for their future;3) Women were shown to be more concerned for and afraid of the consequences of climate change;and 4) Men and the least educated participants believed their jobs to be more threatened by the environmental laws and protection, and the latter ones believed moreover that the claims about climate change are exaggerated. Implications of these findings for value orientations and their relationships to environmental concerns, beliefs and emotions are discussed.

Understanding Environmental Worldview of Famagusta Residents and Its Determinants through Survey Research

Environmental attitude studies have been a key focus within the environmental research field, as the significance of ecological citizenship for the sustainable development discourse has been highly recognized in recent years. In this context, the influence of demographic variables on environmental attitude is an emerging issue that is widely investigated in the west. In this respect, this paper seeks to understand the impact of demographic variables on the environmental worldview of Famagusta residents in order to make a scientific contribution to the possible construction of relevant strategies. A random sample of 165 residents within the territory of Famagusta Municipality was chosen for the survey. The survey tapped the relationship between environmental （ecocentric and anthropocentric） attitudes and selected demographic variables （age, gender, education and household income） and the survey results were evaluated with the help of SPSS （statistical package for social sciences） analyses. The findings reveal that younger respondents, women and the highly educated do not achieve higher scores of environmental attitudes and household income has a statistically significant nonlinear effect.

The present paper analyzes different demographic variables to reach the result of how population become aged in different parts of *** and planning of population during the past decades have contributed to more life expectancy,leading to the aging of population in countries like Japan,China,South Korea,Singapore,Taiwan and to some extent *** in some countries aging without needs gradually emerging,being *** usually at the age of seventy and over lose their normal strengths and *** of their capabilities are *** gradually become dependent on other younger age *** countries usually have made better policies and plans earlier,and because of that,their aging people have better immunity as far as their health,social and economic conditions are *** aging people in Asian countries are concerned about their needs during the age of 70 and *** in birth rate is the most important factor positively affecting the aging of population after a few decades has *** same happened to Japan,China,South Korea *** Western countries started narrowing their birth rates in the nineteenth century,whereas Asian countries started that since around ***,women used to give birth to 7-8 children,in which half or more of them died in infancy,and the rest who survived,had to face malnutrition,shortage of education,child-labor from the age of 7-8,maternal fatality of mothers and many more unfavorable conditions that affected their *** the average age of marriage is between 26-29 in the West,it is usually the age of 20 or below within many developing countries.

This study seems a first attempt to test the effects of respondent demographic variables (gender, age, tenure, and education level), position level, level of incumbent’s job performance and organization size on job analysis ratings. First, it examined the effects of respondent demographic variables on job analysis components of importance and level scales of the ONET Generalized Work Activities and Skill requirement measures, with position level controlled, and then tested the effects of organization size, and level of incumbent’s performance on these components, with and without respondent demographic variables of concern and position level controlled for. Data collected from 230 human resource managers demonstrated that, after eliminating the effect of position level, the significant effects of age became nonsignificant, education level decreased, but gender still had significant effects. Moreover, after these respondent demographic variables and position level were controlled for, the significant effect of organization size became marginal significant, but level of incumbent’s performance still held its unique contribution to variance explanation in some of the ONET components. Future studies should take into account of the influences of these respondent variables when investigating effects of other potential factors (such as organization size and respondent performance level), on job analysis rating results.

在城市垃圾管制中，垃圾按量收费（Pay-as-you-throw,PAYT）是最直接的环境经济政策。它是基于垃圾处理的社会边际成本而向居民征收费用（根据垃圾排放量的不同收取不同的费用），从而实现有效率的资源配置。20世纪90年代以来，垃圾按量收费在经济发达国家已经得到越来越普遍的重视和应用。美国、日本、欧洲、澳大利亚、韩国等国家的很多城市都实施了垃圾按量收费。但截至目前，中国还没有实施垃圾按量收费。本文通过对城市居民的问卷调查，采用描述性统计分析、方差分析、回归分析等方法，对垃圾按量收费的政策效应进行实证研究，以期为中国垃圾按量收费政策的制定和实施提供借鉴。1 问题提出与文献回顾传统的垃圾收费方式是每月收取固定费用（有时隐含在财产税、自来水费、物业管理费中）。这种固定收费政策对所有的家庭实行统一价格（不论垃圾排放量多少），这从两个方面导致了垃圾管制低效率[1,2]：一是由于家庭不用为抛扔的垃圾额外付费，家庭缺乏垃圾减量化、再利用、再循环的激励；二是厂商也缺乏积极性去生产垃圾处理成本较低的产品。鉴于此，多数学者支持“垃圾按量收费”，也称垃圾“单位定价”（Unit-based pricing,Unit pricing）、“可变费率”（Variable fees）等。在垃圾按量收费下，家庭会根据垃圾处理的社会成本来调整其行为，如减少垃圾排放，增加垃圾回收等。很多经验研究都支持这一点。Wertz[3] 对旧金山市（已实行垃圾单位定价）和美国其他城市（没有实行该制度）垃圾平均排放量进行比较后发现，垃圾单位定价每提高1％能减少0.15％的垃圾排放（即垃圾单位定价的价格弹性为－0.15）。与Wertz的研究类似，Jenkins[4] 分析了14个城市的垃圾排放数据后发现，对每袋32加仑的垃圾征收1美元的费用能降低15％的垃圾排放。Fullerton和Kinnaman[5,6] 研究了美国维吉尼亚州大学城Charlottesville垃圾单位定价（每袋定价0.8美元）后发现，家庭排放的垃圾重量平均降低14％，体积减少37％，同时回收增加16％。当然，垃圾按量收费也可能存在一定的负面效应，如导致“非法倾倒”（Illegal dumping）现象。据Fullerton和Kinnaman[5] 推算，实行垃圾单位定价后，维吉尼亚州大学城Charlottesville产生的28％～43％垃圾削减量可能源自非法倾倒。Jenkins[4],Miranda et al.[7] 的研究也发现了非法倾倒的证据。
