With the rapid increase of distributed photovoltaic(PV) power integrating into the distribution network(DN), the critical issues such as PV power curtailment and low equipment utilization rate have been caused by PV power fluctuations. DN has less controllable equipment to manage the PV power fluctuation. To smooth the power fluctuations and further improve the utilization of PV, the regulation ability from the demandside needs to be excavated. This study presents a continuous control method of the feeder load power in a DN based on the voltage regulation to respond to the rapid fluctuation of the PV power output. PV power fluctuations will be directly reflected in the point of common coupling(PCC), and the power fluctuation rate of PCCs is an important standard of PV ***, a demand-side management strategy based on model predictive control(MPC) to mitigate the PCC power fluctuation is proposed. In pre-scheduling, the intraday optimization model is established to solve the reference power of PCC. In real-time control, the pre-scheduling results and MPC are used for the rolling optimization to control the feeder load demand. Finally,the data from the field measurements in Guangzhou, China are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in smoothing fluctuations of the distributed PV power.

Recent advances in thermochemical storage technology have introduced a novel closed-loop thermal energy storage(TES)system,known as the heat battery(HB),which is believed to have great potential for aiding the energy transition in the built environment because of its higher energy density and neglectable storage loss compared to conventional TES *** order to investigate the potential use cases of the HB and provide practical feedback for its further development,this research employs a simulation-based approach to analyze its influence on building performance in various use cases within Dutch residential *** including the homeowner,distribution system operator,and district heating system operator are identified,and a preliminary list of use cases is defined based on relevant literature and input from the HB *** simulation approach is conducted to predict key performance indicators for each *** Kruskal-Wallis test was employed to sort and scrutinize the simulation outcomes and discern the significance of each use case *** findings demonstrated that the HB holds the potential to diminish both the operational energy cost by up to 30%for the homeowners and the peak heating load transmitted from the building to the district heating system.

A Novel Combined Trombe Wall System for Village Houses in Cold Regions of China

Trombe walls have significant energy-saving features and are therefore of great interest to ***,additional research about the Trombe wall is needed to reduce indoor temperature fluctuations and to improve thermal behavior under different climatic conditions.A new Trombe wall system was proposed which uses Venetian blinds and a *** field tests were conducted to compare the thermal performance of four types of rooms:(ⅰ)no Trombe wall(control),(ⅱ)classical Trombe wall(TW),(ⅲ)Trombe wall with Venetian blinds(TW+VB),and(ⅳ)Trombe wall with Venetian blinds and a basement(TW+VB+B).The field measurements were conducted during the winter near Shihezi City in northwest *** objective of this study was(ⅰ)to evaluate the thermal performance of a novel Trombe wall system under different operation conditions,and(ⅱ)to confirm the optimal angle of Venetian blinds during the heating *** results demonstrated that the TW+VB+B system effectively reduced indoor temperature fluctuations after ***,during the daytime,the average air temperatures in the test rooms were 13.6℃higher in the TW+VB+B system than in the *** average temperature at the air outlet in the TW+VB+B system was 4.9℃higher than that in the TW+VB system during the daytime,and the average predicted mean vote(PMV)of the test room was 1.02 units greater in the TW+VB+B system than in the *** thermal efficiency remains in the range of 40%-65%when the Venetian blind angle was set at 45°.In conclusion,the experiment results showed that the TW+VB+B system can not only reduce indoor temperature fluctuations but also improve thermal performance in *** the heating energy consumption in buildings and pollutants emission in the environment were lessened through the application of this passive solar energy-saving ***,this can provide valuable insights for improving the thermal performance of the novel Trombe Wall system in such village houses.

In this paper, a new evaluation method of probabilistic TTC based on SVSR calculation is developed through a hierarchical simulation. A smooth technology based on the non-parametric kernel estimator is adapted to obtain the time-dependent probabilistic density function of the feeder-head load data. In order to describe possible operating change directions of the operating point, the original hyper-cone-like(HCL) model is constructed to consider the probabilistic distribution function(PDF) extracted from feeder-head load data to replace the simple Normal Distribution model and the uncertain generator outputs. To realize the fast TTC calculation of the current operating point in random conditions, a sub-hyper-cone-like(SHCL) model in full power injections space is proposed, which is a similarity transformation of the original one.

Smart grid constrained optimal control is a complex issue due to the constant growth of grid complexity and the large volume of data available as input to smart device *** this context,traditional centralized control paradigms may suffer in terms of the timeliness of optimization results due to the volume of data to be processed and the delayed asynchronous nature of the data *** address these limits of centralized control,this paper presents a coordinated,distributed algorithm based on distributed,local controllers and a central coordinator for exchanging summarized global state *** proposed model for exchanging global state information is resistant to fluctuations caused by the inherent interdependence between local controllers,and is robust to delays in information *** addition,the algorithm features iterative refinement of local state estimations that is able to improve local controller ability to operate within network *** of the proposed coordinated,distributed algorithm through simulation shows its effectiveness in optimizing a global goal within a complex distribution system operating under constraints,while ensuring network operation stability under varying levels of information exchange delay,and with a range of network sizes.

The uncertainty inherent in power load forecasts represents a major factor in the mismatches between supply and demand in renewables-rich electricity networks, which consequently increases the energy bills and curtailed generation. As the transition to a power grid founded on the so-called grid-of-grids becomes more evident, the need for distributed control algorithms capable of handling computationally challenging problems in the energy sector does so as well. In this light, the consensus-based distributed algorithm has recently been shown to provide an effective platform for solving the complex energy management problem in microgrids. More specifically, in a microgrid context, the consensus-based distributed algorithm requires reliable information exchange with customers to achieve convergence. However, packet losses remain an important issue, which can potentially result in the failure of the overall system. In this setting, this paper introduces a novel method to effectively characterize such packet losses during information exchange between the customers and the microgrid operator, whilst solving the microgrid scheduling optimization problem for a multi-agent-based microgrid. More specifically, the proposed framework leverages the virulence optimization algorithm and the earth-worm optimization algorithm to optimally shift the energy consumption during peak periods to lower-priced off-peak hours. The effectiveness of the proposed method in minimizing the overall active power mismatches in the presence of packet losses has also been demonstrated based on benchmarking the results against the business-as-usual iterative scheduling algorithm. Also, the robustness of the overall meta-heuristic- and multi-agent-based method in producing optimal results is confirmed based on comparing the results obtained by several well-established meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, including the binary particle swarm optimization, the genetic algorithm, and the cuckoo search op
