delay discounting invariably serves as a function with regard to the devaluation of profits on the delay to their delivery. Though the neural mechanism of discounting behavior in healthy individuals has proliferated in recent years, comprehensive understanding in analyzing disorder-general population, especially the co-occurrence of addiction, ADHD and obesity with inordinate discounting rates, is still lacking. A few influential researches have been done on this scenario, indicating that excessive devaluation in reinforces with above disorders could be devoted to a trans-disease process. To probe this hypothesis, we conducted a systemic meta-analysis to investigate the neural pattern of delay discounting from a trans-disease process perspective. Here, 30 studies comprising of 509 patients and 443 healthy individuals were included. Compared to healthy people, the patients with a trans-disease process were observed hypoactivation in the cluster of left dorsolateral and ventromedial prefrontal cortex, bilateral striatum and parahippocampal gyrus. Results of sub-meta-analysis further manifested the decreased activation of the anterior cingulate cortex-parahippocampal network in addiction patients relative to healthy control but indicated the increased BOLD responses on precentral gyrus and hippocampus in healthy control. Furthermore, increased activity in the striatum areas was more marked in healthy individuals relative to ADHD patients. In addition, patients with obesity showed reduced brain activation in dorsal and orbital parts of prefrontal cortex versus healthy individuals. Collectively, our findings undergird the triple neurobehavioral systems(i.e., reward valuation, cognitive control and episodic prospection) via disease-specific impairments, providing an overview and advanced evidence useful for shedding light on the nature of discounting processes.

Background Atomoxetine is commonly used for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,which could increase noradrenalin levels while activate dopamine transporter at a higher *** has been suggested that there may some interaction between noradrenalin and dopamine caused by atomoxetine when moderate ***,we examined the effects of acute atomoxetine,haloperidol and their co-administration on impulsivity with a new impulsive model in *** The effects of atomoxetine(0.1–3.0 mg/kg),DA antagonist haloperidol(0.025-0.1 mg/kg)and co-administration of atomoxetine(0.3 mg/kg)and haloperidol(0.025mg/kg and 0.05 mg/kg)were evaluated on a new impulsive model,namely response inhibition-delay discounting task,which can assess impulsive action and impulsive choice *** in this procedure should make a choice between two levers,one is a small immediate(1 Food pellet)reward and another is a large but delayed reward(3 Food pellets),and the delayed time is increasing across block(i.e.,0 s-5 s-10 s-20 s).In addition,rats should acquire a response inhibition task before they make a choice,they should pay attention to the light cues,if they press any lever before the lights illuminated(waiting time is 4 s),it is recorded as a premature response,and will lead to an inter-trial interval(ITI)time and another trial *** Atomoxetine had a dose dependent effect on impulsive choice and impulsive action,with 0.3 mg/kg increased the proportion for large-delayed rewards yet decreased it in 3.0 mg/kg,and 0.3 mg/kg increased the premature frequencies yet left it intact in in 3.0mg/***,haloperidol(0.025 mg/kg,0.05 mg/kg and 0.1 mg/kg)had no effect on impulsivity,it increased the latency and omission in RIDDT dose ***,the co-administration of atomoxetine(0.3 mg/kg)and haloperidol(0.025 mg/kg and 0.05 mg/kg)had no effects on impulsivity but still affected latency and omission at the dose of 0.05 mg/kg with haloperidol
