dark solitons in the inhomogeneous optical fiber are studied in this manuscript via a higher-order nonlinear Schr?dinger equation,since dark solitons can be applied in waveguide optics as dynamic switches and junctions or optical logic *** on the Lax pair,the binary Darboux transformation is constructed under certain constraints,thus the multi-dark soliton solutions are *** propagation and collision are graphically discussed with the group-velocity dispersion,third-and fourth-order dispersions,which can affect the solitons’velocities but have no effect on the *** collisions between the two dark solitons and among the three dark solitons are displayed,while the elasticity cannot be influenced by the above three coefficients.

The dissipative dynamic stability is investigated of dark solitons in elongated Bose-Einstein condensates that can be described by the Gross-Pitaevskii equation including an additional term. Based on the direct perturbation theory for the nonlinear SchrSdinger equation, the dependence of the soliton velocity on time is explicitly given, and the shape of dark solitons remaining unchanged under the dissipative condition is confirmed theoretically for the first time. It is found that the dynamically stable dark solitons turn out to be thermodynamically unstable.

This paper presents a family of soliton solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrodinger equation which describes the dynamics of the dark solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates with an arbitrary x-dependent external potential. The obtained results show that the external potential has an important effect on the dark soliton dynamical characteristics of the condensates. The amplitude, width, and velocity of the output soliton are relative to the source position of the external potential. The smaller the amplitude of the soliton is, the narrower its width is, and the slower the soiiton propagates. The collision of two dark solitons is nearly elastic .

We study the nonlinear effects in the quantum states transfer technique from photons to matter waves in the three-level case, which may provide the formation of a soliton atom laser with nonclassical atoms. The validity of quantum transfer mechanism is confirmed in the presence of the intrinsic nonlinear atomic interactions. The accompanied frequency chirp effect is shown to have no influence on the grey solitons formed by the output atom laser and the possible quantum depletion effect is also briefly discussed.

We discuss the nonlinear Schr6dinger equation with variable coefficients in 21） graded-index waveguides with different distributed transverse diffractions and obtain exact bright and dark soliton solutions. Based on these solutions, we mainly investigate the dynamical behaviors of solitons in three different diffraction decreasing waveguides with the hyperbolic, Gaussian and Logarithmic profiles. Results indicate that for the same parameters, the amplitude of bright solitons in the Logarithmic profile and the amplitude of dark solitons in the Gaussian profile are biggest respectively, and the amplitude in the hyperbolic profile is smallest, while the width of solitons has the opposite case.

The modulational instability of Bose-Einstein condensate with three-body interatomic interaction and external harmonic trapping potential is investigated. Both of our analytical and numerical results show that the external potential will either cause the excitation of modulationally unstable modes or restrain the modulationally unstable modes from growing.
