Reliability Assessment of a cyber physical Microgrid system in Island Mode

As cyber physical systems,microgrids(MGs),with distributed generations and energy management systems,can improve the reliability of power supply for customers in MGs.To quantify the reliability of isolated MGs,a cyber-physical assessment model is proposed.In this model,the circuit breakers and distributed energy resources are treated as the coupling elements between the cyber system and physical system,where the circuit breakers are uniquely modelled by using the Markov process theory based on the indirect interdependencies between cyber physical elements.For the cyber system,the reliability model of communication networks is formulated based on the link connectivity evaluation method.For the physical system,a system state generating method is presented to account for the optimal operation strategy,which considers the influence of the optimization strategy on the failure consequence analysis.With the proposed cyber and physical reliability models,the sequential Monte Carlo(SMC)simulation method is adopted to assess the reliability of islanded MGs.Simulations are carried out on a test system,and results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed assessment method.Furthermore,one application of the proposed method is on the parameter setting of the cyber system,in terms of enhancing MGs reliability.

Data fusion and simulation-based planning and control in cyber physical system for digital assembly of aeroplane

This paper introduces a CPS application for intelligent aeroplane assembly.At first,the CPS structure is presented,which acquires the characteristics of general CPS and enables“simulation-based planning and control”to achieve high level intelligent assembly.Then the paper puts forward data fusion estimation algorithm under synchronous and asynchronous sampling,respectively.The experiment shows that global optimal distributed fusion estimation under synchronized sampling proves to be closer to the actual value compared with ordinary weighted estimation,and multi-scale distributed fusion estimation algorithm of wavelet under asynchronous sampling does not need time registration,it can also directly link to data,and the error is smaller.This paper presents hybrid control strategy under the circumstance of joint action of the inner and outer loop to address the problems caused by the less controllable feature of the parallel mechanism when undertaking online process simulation and control.A robust adaptive sliding mode controller is designed based on disturbance observer to restrain inner interference and maintain robustness.At the same time,an outer collaborative trajectory planning is also designed.All the experiment results show the feasibility of above proposed methods.

Decentralized Multigrid for In-situ Big Data Computing

Modern seismic sensors are capable of recording high precision vibration data continuously for several months. Seismic raw data consists of information regarding earthquake’s origin time, location, wave velocity, etc.Currently, these high volume data are gathered manually from each station for analysis. This process restricts us from obtaining high-resolution images in real-time. A new in-network distributed method is required that can obtain a high-resolution seismic tomography in real time. In this paper, we present a distributed multigrid solution to reconstruct seismic image over large dense networks. The algorithm performs in-network computation on large seismic samples and avoids expensive data collection and centralized computation. Our evaluation using synthetic data shows that the proposed method accelerates the convergence and reduces the number of messages exchanged. The distributed scheme balances the computation load and is also tolerant to severe packet loss.

Real-Time Control for CPS of Digital Airplane Assembly with Robust H-Infinity Theory

This study introduces a real-time controller design method under the effects of network time delay and external disturbance. The study first introduces the digital, virtual, intelligent trend of airplane assembly and reveals the status and problems of digital airplane assembly studies. The cyber-physical system （CPS） structure is then proposed for digital airplane assembly, and the real-time control issues are discussed. Then, the question of real- time control undertaken by a parallel robot is simplified to a control question with bounded time delay and complex interference, and a mathematical description is presented. Next, a robust Hoo controller with a disturbance degree of decay 7 is designed according to the mathematical description. Finally, a simulation is conducted. All of the experiment results show the feasibility of the above proposed methods.

Energy-aware application performance management in virtualized data centers

Both performance and energy cost are impor- tant concerns for current data center operators. Traditionally, however, IT and mechanical engineers have separately op- timized the cyber and physical aspects of data center operations. This paper considers both of these aspects with the eventual goal of developing performance and power management techniques that operate holistically to control the entire cyber-physical complex of data center installations. Toward this end, we propose a balance of payments model for holis- tic power and performance management. As an example of coordinated cyber-physical system management, the energy- aware cyber-physical system （EaCPS） uses an application controller on the cyber side to guarantee application perfor- mance, and on the physical side, it utilizes electric current- aware capacity management （CACM） to smartly place exe- cutables to reduce the energy consumption of each chassis present in a data center rack. A web application, representa- tive of a multi-tier web site, is used to evaluate the perfor- mance of the controller on the cyber side, the CACM control on the physical side, and the holistic EaCPS methods in a mid-size instrumented data center. Results indicate that coor- dinated EaCPS outperforms separate cyber and physical con- trol modules.
