Complexes of cupric ion and tartaric acid enhanced calcium peroxide Fenton-like reaction for metronidazole degradation

To surmount the obstacles of traditional Fenton method and synchronously utilize Cu^(2+)and polyphenol in water,an improved Fenton-like reaction applying calcium peroxide(CaO_(2))as H_(2)O_(2)source and regulating by the complex of Cu^(2+)-tartaric acid(TA,a representative of polyphenol)was constructed.A typical antibiotic,metronidazole(MTZ)could be effectively eliminated by the Cu^(2+)/TA/CaO_(2)system,and the optimized parameters were as follows:0.1 mmol/L Cu^(2+),2 mmol/L TA,2 mmol/L CaO_(2),and initial *** spectrum confirmed the formation of Cu^(2+)-TA complex,which promoted the Cu^(2+)/Cu+circulation through decreasing the Cu^(2+)/Cu^(+) couple redox potential,which further enhanced the H_(2)O_(2)decomposition and the formation of reactive *** radical was dominant for MTZ degradation,followed by oxygen and superoxide *** degradation intermediates of MTZ were detected and their evolution way was ***,the ternary process showed a wide p H tolerance(3–8)for removing MTZ and broad applicability for eliminating other dyes and *** work provided a reference for Cu-based Fenton-like strategy for organic wastewater settlement.

Study on Catalytic Wet Oxidation of H_2S into Sulfur on Fe/Cu Catalyst

A wet catalytic oxidation at room temperature was investigated with solution containing ferric, ferrous and cupric ions for H2S removal. The experiments were carried out in a two step process, and the results obtained show that the removal efficiency of H2S can always reach 100% in a 300 mm scrubbing column with four sieve plates, and the regeneration of ferric ions in 200 mm bubble column can match the consumed ferric species in absorption. Removal of H2S, production of elemental sulfur and regeneration of ferric, cupric ions can all be accomplished at the same time. No raw material is consumed except O2 in flue gas or air, the process has no secondary pollution and no problem of catalyst degradation and congestion.

Given thatlanthanide metal-organic frameworks(Ln-MOFs),a family of crystalline porous materials,show remarkable fluorescence signals with visible emissioncolors,which can be able to be defined as anew typeof promising chemical sensors[1].Recently,an alternative policy to build Ln-MOFs and optimize the photoluminescence have been reported,which can be performed by incorporating lanthanide ions into the MOFs using transition metal centersviapost-synthetic method(PSM)[2].Stimulated by this,we reporta novellanthanidedoped MOFs(Tb@Zn-MOF)that was synthesized by encapsulating Tbcations in Zn-MOF,which exhibits the easilysensitizationproperties,high chemical stabilities and strong green ***,Tb@Zn-MOFcan act as a highly selective and sensitive robust luminescent platform for reversibledetecting POions in aqueousand targeting Cuin simulation living cell buffer solution with a fast response time and a low detection limit.
