This essay contributes to the analysis of the significance of cross-culture understanding in connection with language. It is important and necessary to promote cross- cultural understanding in order to communicate with people from various cultural backgrounds with the development of globalization. This essay also gives the example of the word‘dragon'to illustrate that the cross-culture understanding of language will make us communicate with each other more effectively.

The novel Life of Pi includes all the uncertain elements——children, animals, and sea, and many directors are flocking to, but give up at last. Ang Lee’s wide perspective has not only the international level, but also the native characteristics. He is deeply influenced by Chinese culture, and adds many oriental elements to his films with his broad vision. In the film Life of Pi, Ang Lee is not to copy this novel by Image Technology but to remodel it through his own understanding. The paper mainly analyses about the explicit cross-culture and the non-equivalent phenomena in it.

Academic writing requires conscious effort and much practice in composing, developing, and analyzing ideas. Students writing in a foreign language are also faced with cross-culture challenges related to language learning acquisition. Therefore, L2 writing instructors should take into account both strategy development and language skill development when working with students. This paper explores the ‘I can’t write English’ syndrome in the EFL writing class in relation to particular aspects of cross-culture difficulties. It also suggested some sufficient and effective strategies on the writing process as a pedagogical tool.

The bi-direction of cross-cultural communication determines culture teaching should include both target culture and native culture.Currently,however,mere emphasis of target culture with ignoring native culture has resulted in "two-skin"phenomenon and"aphasia of Chinese culture".Therefore,this paper aims to underline native culture teaching,to explore proper techniques for native culture teaching,to achieve integration of target culture and native culture,to enhance studentséxpressive competence in native culture and finally to carry out effective cross-cultural communication.

With the deepening the“One Belt and One Road”construction,the exchanges between China and other countries in the world are increasingly frequent,the number of foreign students in China is rising,and there are cross-cultural adaptability problems of foreign students in China.The education of foreign students in China undertakes the mission of serving the national external development strategy.In order to better serve the“One Belt and One Road”construction,relying on tradition industry advantage of the School of Civil Engineering,Central South University in civil engineering and railway engineering,a set of cross-cultural education model for foreign students in China integrating ideological and political education is explored and practiced in the foreign student education management of the curriculum system,daily management,cross-cultural counseling,social practice and cultural exchanges,which can be summarized as“one goal,two combinations,three approaches,four abilities and five management measures”.This management model can effectively enhance the cross-cultural adaptability of foreign students,cultivate the emotion of knowing and being friendly to China,improve the education quality of foreign students in China,enhance the international education influence of the Central South University,and promote the spread of Chinese culture.
