Robustly coordinated operation of an Emission-free Microgrid with Hybrid Hydrogen-battery Energy Storage

High intermittence of renewable energy resources(RESs)and restriction for greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions have significantly challenged the operations of traditional diesel generator(DG)based microgirds.This paper considers an emission-free microgid with hybrid hydrogen-battery energy storage(HHBES)and proposes a coordinated operational strategy to minimize its daily operation costs.In addition to the electricity purchase costs in the day-ahead market and the operational costs of RESs,the total degradation cost of HHBES is also included in the cost calculation.The proposed operational strategy consists of two coordinated stages.At the day-ahead stage,the schedule for the tie-line power is exchanged with the main grid,the output power of the fuel cell(FC)and the input power of the electrolysis device(ED)are optimized under the worst case of uncertain power output from RESs and power demand from electricity loads(ELs).At the intra-day stage,the battery power is determined according to the short-term prediction for the power of RESs and ELs.The problem is formulated as a robust optimization model and solved by a two-level column-andconstraint-generation(C&CG)algorithm.Numerical simulations using Australian energy market operator(AEMO)data are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Trajectory planning and base attitude restoration of dual-arm free-floating space robot by enhanced bidirectional approach

When free-floating space robots perform space tasks,the satellite base attitude is disturbed by the dynamic coupling.The disturbance of the base orientation may affect the communication between the space robot and the control center on earth.In this paper,the enhanced bidirectional approach is proposed to plan the manipulator trajectory and eliminate the final base attitude variation.A novel acceleration level state equation for the nonholonomic problem is proposed,and a new intermediate variable-based Lyapunov function is derived and solved for smooth joint trajectory and restorable base trajectories.In the method,the state equation is first proposed for dual-arm robots with and without end constraints,and the system stability is analyzed to obtain the system input.The input modification further increases the system stability and simplifies the calculation complexity.Simulations are carried out in the end,and the proposed method is validated in minimizing final base attitude change and trajectory smoothness.Moreover,the minute internal force during the coordinated operation and the considerable computing efficiency increases the feasibility of the method during space tasks.

Energy Management of Networked Smart Railway Stations Considering Regenerative Braking, Energy Storage System, and Photovoltaic Units

The networking of microgrids has received significant attention in the form of a smart grid.In this paper,a set of smart railway stations,which is assumed as microgrids,is connected together.It has been tried to manage the energy exchanged between the networked microgrids to reduce received energy from the utility grid.Also,the operational costs of stations under various conditions decrease by applying the proposed method.The smart railway stations are studied in the presence of photovoltaic(PV)units,energy storage systems(ESSs),and regenerative braking strategies.Studying regenerative braking is one of the essential contributions.Moreover,the stochastic behaviors of the ESS’s initial state of energy and the uncertainty of PV power generation are taken into account through a scenario-based method.The networked microgrid scheme of railway stations(based on coordinated operation and scheduling)and independent operation of railway stations are studied.The proposed method is applied to realistic case studies,including three stations of Line 3 of Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway operation Company(TUSROC).The rolling stock is simulated in the MATLAB environment.Thus,the coordinated operation of networked microgrids and independent operation of railway stations are optimized in the GAMS environment utilizing mixed-integer linear programming(MILP).
