COVID-19 is the most severe pandemic globally since the 1918 influenza *** responding to this once-in-a-century global pandemic is a worldwide challenge that the international community needs to jointly face and *** study reviews and discusses the key measures taken by major countries in 2020 to fight against COVID-19,such as lockdowns,social distancing,wearing masks,hand hygiene,using Fangcang shelter hospitals,large-scale nucleic acid testing,close-contacts tracking,and pandemic information monitoring,as well as their prevention and control *** hope it can help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of pandemic prevention and control in future.

This paper reviews the various control algorithms and strategies used for fixed-wing morphing aircraft applications. It is evident from the literature that the development of control algorithms for morphing aircraft technologies focused on three main areas. The first area is related to precise control of the shape of morphing concepts for various flight conditions. The second area is mainly related to the flight dynamics, stability, and control aspects of morphing aircraft. The third area deals mainly with aeroelastic control using morphing concepts either for load alleviation purposes and/or to control the instability boundaries. The design of controllers for morphing aircraft/wings is very challenging due to the large changes that can occur in the structural, aerodynamic, and inertial characteristics. In addition, the type of actuation system and actuation rate/speed can have a significant effect on the design of such controllers. The aerospace community is in strong need of such a critical review especially as morphing aircraft technologies move from fundamental research at a low Technology Readiness Level(TRL) to real-life applications. This critical review aims to identify research gaps and propose future directions. In this paper, research activities/papers are categorized according to the control strategy used. This ranges from simple Proportional Integral Derivative(PID) controllers at one end to complex robust adaptive controllers and deep learning algorithms at the other end. This includes analytical, computational, and experimental studies. In addition, the various dynamic models used and their fidelities are highlighted and discussed.

Many virus-transmitting insectsare also important crop pests that cause considerable losses in crop *** review summarizes the latest research findings on the interactions betweenplant viruses and insect vectors and analyzes the key factors affecting insecttransmission of plant viruses from the perspectives of insect immunity, insectfeeding, and insect symbiotic microorganisms. Additionally, by referring to thelatest applications for blocking the transmission of animal viruses, potentialcontrol strategies to prevent the transmission of insect-vectored plant virusesusing RNAi technology, gene editing technology, and CRISPR/Cas9 + gene-driventechnology are discussed.

Osteoporosis is a common bone disease in women worldwide, leading to decreased bone density and an accelerated risk of fractures. The causes of osteoporosis in women include age (senile osteoporosis), menopause-associated hormonal changes, deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D, genetics, lifestyle factors, medical conditions, and some type of medications. The consequences of osteoporosis are colossal, consisting of fractures, decreased quality of life, psychological impacts, and economic burden. To effectively control the menace of osteoporosis in women, numerous strategies are advocated. Adequate calcium and vitamin D consumption through diet or supplements is vital. Regular weight-bearing activities and strength training that promote bone density. Maintaining a healthy life-style through avoiding smoking, limiting alcohol in-take and maintaining a wholesome body weight is essential. Hormone replacement therapy and some medications may be recommended in certain cases. Early detection through regular bone density and blood tests is crucial to lowering its impact. Creating a supportive network through educational programs and resources fosters awareness and empowerment. By engaging these strategies, women can be empowered to combat osteoporosis, reduce fracture risk, and build stronger bones for their overall well-being.

The pests, diseases and weeds in sugarcane areas of Lincang Nanhua Sugar Industry Co.,Ltd. were investigated at seedling stage, growth stage and maturity stage of sugarcane from 2012 to 2016. The occurrence and damage of diseases, pests and weeds were analyzed, and the problems in prevention and control were discussed based on the local conditions of sugarcane production. The species, occurrence and damage characteristics of diseases, pests and weeds were ascertained, and the corresponding strategies and technical measures were proposed.

Sugarcane red rot caused by Colletotrichum falcatum Went. is an important epidemical fungal disease. The outbreak of large-scale epidemics would cause huge losses to sugarcane production. At present,the pesticide control effect is not ideal. Moreover,due to long-term continuous cropping and changeable climate in recent years,favorable conditions for the occurrence of red rot have been created. The disease was often prevalent in various sugarcane areas,caused serious damage and seriously affected the sugarcane production. With the rapid spread of the disease worldwide,the control of sugarcane red rot has become the hot spot in the field of sugarcane production and research. In this paper,the epidemic characteristics of sugarcane red rot were analyzed in combination with the field investigation. To provide theoretical basis for prevention and control of red rot in China and effective control the widespread occurrence of the disease,combined with the latest research results at home and abroad,we proposed to select resistant varieties mainly,use biological control agents such as Trichoderma spp.,Pseudomonas *** Bacillus spp. to treat the seed cane and soil,timely apply chemical pesticide in critical periods and strengthen scientific and effective comprehensive coordinated prevention and control measures such as field management against red rot.

In recent years, the occurrence and harm of many kinds of pests and diseases have become increasingly serious in Yunnan sugarcane areas, which have greatly affected the sustained and stable development of sugarcane production, so the situation of their prevention and control has become rigorous. In order to scien- tifically and effectively prevent and control pests and diseases of sugarcane to en- sure the safety of sugarcane production, on the basis of an investigation and re- search, according to the present situation of sugarcane production in Yunnan, the occurrence dynamics of major pests and diseases of sugarcane were analyzed, and corresponding control strategies were proposed according to the major pests and diseases as well as their occurrence and damage characteristics.

In recent decades,the matrix converter(MC)has emerged as a promising AC/AC converter that performs the direct AC-to-AC *** of its attractive features such as compact volume,bidirectional power flow,controllable input power factor and sinusoidal waveforms,there has been an increase in MC related research *** control techniques have been proposed to control MCs and many potential applications have been *** paper presents the state-of-the-art review in the recent development of control strategies and applications of MCs,starting with MC *** relevant simulation and experimental results are presented to show the performance of the corresponding controllers in specific applications.A wide range of control techniques and potential application fields are *** products and modules are also *** of different control strategies and different applications are summarized and *** is concluded that the MC is a promising converter and more research and industry interest is expected,particularly in AC motor drives and renewable energy microgrids.
