Large-scale automatic block adjustment from satellite to indoor photogrammetry

Block Adjustment(BA)is a critical procedure in the geometric processing of satellite images,responsible for compensating and correcting the geometric positioning errors of the *** accuracy of the photogrammetric products,including Digital Orthophoto Map(DOM),Digital Elevation Model(DEM),Digital Line Graphic(DLG),and Digital Raster Graphic(DRG),directly depends on the accuracy of BA *** recent years,the rapid development of related technologies such as Artificial Intelligence(AI),Computer Vision(CV),Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)and big data has greatly facilitated and transformed the classical BA in *** paper first reviews the current status of BA and then looks into the ***,this paper provides a brief review of the key technologies involved in BA,including image matching,the establishment of adjustment model,the determination of the parameters and the detection of gross ***,taking the intercross and fusion of current technologies such as AI,cloud computing and big data with photogrammetry into account,this paper explores the future trends of ***,four typical cases of large-scale adjustment are introduced,including large-scale BA without Ground control points(GCPs)for optical stereo satellite images,large-scale BA with laser altimetry data for optical stereo satellite images,large-scale BA for UAV oblique photogrammetry,and large-scale BA for indoor photogrammetry in caves with a large number of close-range images.

Convergence of shape optimization calculations of mechanical components using adaptive biological growth and iterative finite element methods

Shape optimization of mechanical components is one of the issues that have been considered in recent years. Different methods were presented such as adaptive biological for reducing costs and increasing accuracy. The effects of step factor, the number of control points and the definition way of control points coordinates in convergence rate were studied. A code was written using ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) which receives the studied parameters as input and obtains the optimum shape for the components. The results show that for achieving successful optimization, step factor should be in a specific range. It is found that the use of any coordinate system in defining control points coordinates and selection of any direction for stimulus vector of algorithm will also result in optimum shape. Furthermore, by increasing the number of control points, some non-uniformities are created in the studied boundary. Achieving acceptable accuracy seems impossible due to the creation of saw form at the studied boundary which is called "saw position".

Image registration is a process of creating correspondence between a pair of images. In some situations, the physical one-to-one correspondence may not exist due to the presence of "outlier" objects （called gross outliers） that appear in one image but not the other. In this paper, a novel robust method is presented to address the problem of tumor-like gross outliers in non-rigid image registration. First, two salient point sets are extracted from the two images to be registered, and classified by means of clustering analysis which is based on Gaussian mixture models and expectation-maximization （EM） algorithm. Then by means of joint saliency map that represents the joint salient regions of the overlapping volume of the two images, the regions including tumor-like gross outliers could be automatically recognized. After screening out of salient points and elimination of outlier points, some stable control points that well represent the corresponding structures within the joint salient regions of the two images could be obtained. By iteratively finding correspondences between the control points in the joint salient regions, the smooth deformation field is approximated based on radial basis functions （RBFs） with compact support until the convergence to the steady-state solution is achieved. Experimental results show that the proposed method is able to recover local deformation caused by tumor resection in brain.

Motion information of the target spacecraft can be calculated according coordinate change of feature points based on the motion control model. In order to extract motion information including velocity, location, attitude of the target spacecraft in the final approaching phase of rendezvous and docking, feature extraction and image registration for the target spacecraft is an essential step. In this paper, the original images are obtained by CCD. Circle Hough Transform based on wavelet adaptive thresholding denoising method is utilized to extract the edges and the characteristic circles of the target spacecraft. Then we designed three feature points on the fore-end cabin. Finally, images registration based on control points is applied to the reference and to be register images. The results of images registration demonstrate that three feature points on the fore-end cabin of the target spacecraft model is especially effective. Additionally, experimental results shows that running speed is improved greatly and high accuracy is provided for circles detection. It will directly affect further extraction of motion information, so there is no doubt that is a vital step.
