In this paper we consider a link-unreliable remote monitoring scenario where the monitoring center is geographically located far away from the region of the deployed sensor network,and sensing data by the sensors in the network will be transferred to the remote monitoring center through a third party telecommunication service.A cost associated with this service will be incurred,which will be determined by the number of gateways employed and the cumulative volume of data successfully received within a specified monitoring *** this scenario,we first formulate a novel constrained optimization problem with an objective to minimize the service cost while a pre-defined network throughput is *** refer to this problem as the throughput guaranteed service cost minimization problem and prove that it is *** then propose a heuristic for *** key ingredients of the heuristic include identifying gateways and finding an energy-efficient forest of routing trees rooted at the *** also perform theoretical analysis on the solution ***,we conduct experiments by simulations to evaluate the performance of the proposed *** results demonstrate the proposed algorithm outperforms other algorithms in terms of both the service cost and the network lifetime.

A plant-friendly proportional-integral-derivative （PID） controller optimization framework is proposed to make tradeoffs among set-point response,controller output variations and *** objective function is chosen as the weighted sum of the integral of squared time-weighted error and the integral of squared timeweighted derivative of the control variable with respect to set-point response,while the robustness of the system is guaranteed by constraints on gain and phase *** to the complex structure of the constraints,the problem is solved by genetic *** analysis show the proposed method could efficiently reduce the controller output variations while maintaining a short settling *** on the simulation results,iterative tuning rules for the weighting factor in the objective function are obtained,which allows efficient simple proportional-integral（PI） tuning formulae to be derived.

Power control problems for wireless communication networks are investigated in direct-sequence codedivision multiple-access （DS/CDMA） channels. It is shown that the underlying problem can be formulated as a constrained optimization problem in a stochastic framework. For effective solutions to this optimization problem in real time, recursive algorithms of stochastic approximation type are developed that can solve the problem with unknown system components. Under broad conditions, convergence of the algorithms is established by using weak convergence methods.

In this paper, a class of augmented Lagrangiaus of Di Pillo and Grippo （DGALs） was considered, for solving equality-constrained problems via unconstrained minimization techniques. The relationship was further discussed between the uneonstrained minimizers of DGALs on the product space of problem variables and multipliers, and the solutions of the eonstrained problem and the corresponding values of the Lagrange multipliers. The resulting properties indicate more precisely that this class of DGALs is exact multiplier penalty functions. Therefore, a solution of the equslity-constralned problem and the corresponding values of the Lagrange multipliers can be found by performing a single unconstrained minimization of a DGAL on the product space of problem variables and multipliers.

The electromagnetism-like(EM)algorithm is a meta-heuristic optimization algorithm,which uses a novel searching mechanism called attraction-repulsion between charged *** is worth pointing out that there are two potential problems in the calculation of particle charge by the original EM *** of the problems is that the information utilization rate of the population is not high,and the other problem is the decline of population diversity when the population size is much greater than the dimension of the *** contrast,it is more fully to exploit the useful search information based on the proposed new quadratic formula for charge calculation in this ***,the population size was introduced as a new multiplier term to improve the population *** the end,numerical experiments were used to verify the performance of the proposed method,including a comparison with the original EM algorithm and other well-known methods such as artificial bee colony(ABC),and particle swarm optimization(PSO).The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
