CHARACTERIZATIONS OF compact operators ON SOME EULER SPACES OF DIFFERENCE SEQUENCES OF ORDER m

In the past, several authors studied spaces of m-th order difference sequences, among them, *** and *** （[17]） defined the Euler spaces of m-th order difference sequences e r 0 （△ （ m ））, e r c （△ （ m ）） and e r ∞ （△ （ m ）） and characterized some classes of matrix transformations on them. In our paper, we add a new supplementary aspect to their research by characterizing classes of compact operators on those spaces. For that purpose, the spaces are treated as the matrix domains of a triangle in the classical sequence spaces c 0 , c and ∞ . The main tool for our characterizations is the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness.

Quantitative Characterizations of Bounded compact Approximation Property by Semi-Fredholm operators

Based on a characterization of upper semi-Fredholm operators due to *** and ***,we introduce and investigate a new quantity characterizing upper semi-Fredholm *** quantity and several well-known quantities are used to characterize bounded compact approximation ***,a new quantity characterizing lower semi-Fredholm operators is introduced,investigated and used to characterize the bounded compact approximation property for dual spaces.

Von Neumann Algebras Associated with the Group SL2（R）

Let M and N be the yon Neumann algebras induced by the rational action of the group SL2（R） and its subgroup P on the upper half plane H. We have shown that N is spatial isomorphic to the group von Neumann algebra Lp and characterized M and its commutant M＇ and gotten a generalization of the Mautner＇s lemma. It is also shown that the Berezin operator commutates with the Laplaeian operator.

Let B(H) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on a complex separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space *** by π the quotient map of B(H) onto the Calkin algebra A(H).In 1984,Apostol et *** the following conjecture:If an operator T on H is not similar to a compact perturbation of a Jordan operator,then the similarity orbit of π(T) in A(H) coincides with the π-image of the similarity orbit of *** this paper,we investigate the structure of similarity orbits in the Calkin algebra and give a negative answer to the above conjecture.
