Coal Gasification Wastewater Pretreatment with coagulation and N_2 Flotation Combined System

A N 2 flotation tank combined with coagulation was developed as a pretreatment equipment of biological process to remove oil and other pollutants in coal gasification wastewater( CGW). With optimal PAC dosage of 20 mg / L,the sole coagulation process achieves removal efficiencies of 29. 34% and 26. 83% for oil and COD,respectively. For the sole N 2 floatation process,the optimal N 2 flux and HRT are 20 m3/ h and 20 min. Meanwhile,the oil and COD removal efficiencies are 35. 41% and 14. 26%,respectively. For the combined system of coagulation and N 2 floatation,the optimal parameter values are the same as the ones of separate processes. Correspondingly,the removal efficiencies are 46. 28% and 31. 89% for oil and COD, respectively. Besides,BOD 5 / COD of the effluent is improved. In contrast with conventional dissolved air floatation,the inert gas- N 2 prevents the formation of cyclopentenone, pyridine derivatives, and other heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons,thus improving the biodegradability of influent for the subsequent biological processes.

Direct Monte Carlo Method Simulation of the Synthesis of Carbon Particle Through coagulation in the Detonation of Explosives

A model is constructed and used in computing the coagulation probability of free carbon during the detonation of explosives. A direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) program is constructed to simulate the coagulation of free carbon particles. The evaluation of the distribution spectrum of particles in the system is obtained. The simulation result is consistent with the experimental curve.

Clay surface modification and its coagulation of red tide organisms

Surface modification of montmorillonite by means of Mg2+ insertion reaction has been studied and a positively charged montmorillonite has been prepared. The effects of preparation temperature and Mg2+ concentration on the positive charge property of the clay and on the clay coagulating Heterosigma akashiwo have been studied. The results showed that the modified clay enhanced the coagulation and the used amount decreased to 1/5—1/10 of the original. The removal rates of Heterosigma akashiwo were correlated positively with positive charge on the clay in accordance with theoretical model.

Diagnostic and Prognostic Value of Plasma Factor V Activity and Parameters in Thrombin Generation for Disseminated Intravascular coagulation in Patients with Hematological Malignancies

In this study,we used plasma factor V activity and parameters of the thrombin generation test to discuss their diagnostic and prognostic value for disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) in patients with hematological malignancies.A total of 164 patients who were diagnosed with hematological malignancies in the Department of Hematology,Union Hospital,between Apr 2014 and Dec.2014 were enrolled in this *** were 131 patients in the study group and 33 patients in the control group in terms of the laboratory results for *** patients in the study group were divided into a DIC subgroup (n=59) and a non-DIC subgroup (n=72) based on the International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (ISTH) Integral System,and they were divided into four subgroups [score ≤3 (n=35),score=4 (n=37),score=5 (n=47),and score >6 (n=12)] according to ISTH *** 28-day mortality as the endpoint,the patients in the study group were divided into a survival subgroup (n=111) and a non-survival subgroup (n=20).The results showed that the plasma factor V activity was significantly weaker,and lag time and time to peak were significantly shorter in the study group than in the control group (P<0.01).The factor V activity,peak and endogenous thrombin potential (ETP) were significantly decreased in the DIC subgroup as compared with those in the non-DIC subgroup (P<0.01).Among factor V activity,lag time,peak,ETP,and ttPeak,only the factor V activity was significantly decreased in the nonsurvival subgroup compared with the survival subgroup (P<0.01).With the increase in ISTH score,the ETP and peak decreased *** binary logistic regression analysis revealed that PLT,D-dimer,factor V activity and ETP had linear relationship with DIC diagnosed by ISTH Integral *** DIC diagnosed by ISTH Integral System as the endpoint,the area under curve (AUC) of factor V activity was found to be similar to that of blood platelet count (PLT) and prothrombin time (PT).In conclusion,facto

Risk factors of acute coagulation dysfunction after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

Background: Although coagulopathy have been proved to be a contributor to a poor outcome of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH), the risk factors for triggering coagulation abnormalities have not been studied after aneurysm clipping. Methods: We investigated risk factors of coagulopathy and analyzed the relationship between acute coagulopathy and outcome after aneurysm clipping. The clinical data of 137 patients with ruptured CA admitted to our institution was collected and retrospectively reviewed. Patient demographic data (age, sex), smoking, alcohol use, hypertension, diabetes, Hunt-Hess grade, Fisher grade, operation time, intraoperative total infusion volume, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative transfusion, intraoperative hemostatic drug treatment, calcium reduction (preoperative free calcium concentration–postoperative free calcium concentration) were recorded. coagulation was assessed within 24 h. Postoperative hemorrhage and infarction, deep venous thrombosis (DVT), and mortality were analyzed. Results: Coagulopathy was detected in a total of 51 cases (group I), while not in 86 cases (group II). Univariable analysis demonstrated that age, smoking, alcohol use, intraoperative total infusion volume, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative transfusion, and calcium reduction (≥1.2 mg/dl) were related to coagulopathy. Non-conditional logistic regression analysis showed that age [OR, 1.037 (95% CI, 1.001–1.074);p=0.045] and calcium reduction (≥1.2 mg/dl) [OR, 5.509 (95% CI, 1.900–15.971);p=0.002] were considered as the risk factors for coagulopathy. Hunt-Hess grade [OR, 2.641 (95% CI, 1.079–6.331);p=0.033] and operation time [OR, 0.107 (95% CI, 1.012–0.928);p=0.043] were considered as the risk factors for hypocoagulopathy. There were 6 cases (11.7%) with cerebral infarction in group I, while 6 cases (6.98%) in group II (χ2=0.918, p=0.338). This article reports studies on the coagulation of kaolin(from Wuxian,Jiangsu,China)on various red tide organisms,and the observation for the first time that the coagulation of kaolin is much greaterthan that of montmorillonite so that kaolin is a more effective clay for removing red tide *** authors’theoretical explanation and analysis by a mathematical-physical model prove that comparedto montmorillonite,kaolin has greater attraction for organism cells and therefore greater coagulation *** project’s studies on the effects of pH and acid-treatment show that the acid-treatment does not have much influence on the kaolin system;whereas the effect of pH on the kaolin system is the same asthat on the montmonrillonite system.
