We investigate the cluster consensus problem in directed networks of nonlinearly coupled multi-agent systems by using pinning control. Depending on the community structure generated by the group partition of the underlying digraph, various clusters can be made coherently independent by applying feedback injections to a fraction of the agents. Sufficient conditions for cluster consensus are obtained using algebraic graph theory and matrix theory and some simulations results are included to illustrate the method.

This paper studies the cluster consensus of multi-agent systems(MASs)with objective optimization on directed and detail balanced networks,in which the global optimization objective function is a linear combination of local objective functions of all ***,a directed and detail balanced network is constructed that depends on the weights of the global objective function,and two kinds of novel continuous-time optimization algorithms are proposed based on time-invariant and timevarying objective ***,by using fixed-time stability theory and convex optimization theory,some sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure that all agents'states reach cluster consensus within a fixed-time,and asymptotically converge to the optimal solution of the global objective ***,two examples are presented to show the efficacy of the theoretical results.

This paper studies the cluster consensus problem of heterogeneous linear multi-agent systems under fixed directed topology, where dynamics of all agents are allowed to be non-identical. Compared with the traditional consensus problem,the interactions among clusters, which can be negatively weighted, impose a challenge on dealing with the issue. A controller structure for cluster consensus is given with a small-gain criterion to guarantee cluster consensus. Numerical simulation is provided to verify the effectiveness of the results.

This paper studies the second order cluster consensus problem for a network of multi-agents. We consider general graph topologies including time variation. A comprehensive analysis is provided. For static topology case, we show that communications among agents and inter-cluster nonidentical inputs generically leads the system to second order cluster consensus. A common Lyapunov function is provided for time varying topologies case. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that the second order cluster consensus can be achieved using the proposed algorithms.

FINITE-TIME CLUSTER CONSENSUS FOR NETWORKS VIA DISTRIBUTED I...

This paper studies the finite-time cluster average consensus in bidirectional networks. By designing distributed linear iterations involving stochastic matrices consistent with a network topology, we show that cluster average consensus can always be achieved in finite time for bidirectional networks containing cluster-spanning trees. In particular, for a network with n nodes, the cluster average consensus can be achieved in less than n(n-1)/2 steps regardless of the number of different clusters. We develop a detailed algorithm to implement the proposed finite-time cluster average consensus. Numerical simulations on a realistic social network are presented to illustrate the availability of the obtained theoretical results. Moreover, we compare the current approach with the past asymptotical consensus protocols, including those involving external intra-cluster identical inputs. The advantage of finite-time consensus is prominent.

cluster-delay consensus in a noisy environment has been investigated for the second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems, which consist of a leader and several followers. A novel protocol with white noise is proposed for the followers of different groups tracking their leader gradually with distinct time delays, i.e., followers are divided into several groups according to the time-delays with the leader and each group approaches its own equilibrium state almost surely and exponentially. Based on the Lyapunov’s method for stability, matrix theory and stochastic differential equations, sufficient conditions are derived to achieve the cluster-delay consensus. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted to illustrate and validate our control algorithm.
