To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),high-quality data are needed to inform the formulation of policies and investment decisions,to monitor progress towards the SDGs and to evaluate the impacts of ***,the data landscape is *** emerging big data and cloud-based services,there are new opportunities for data collection,influencing both official data collection processes and the operation of the programmes they *** paper uses cases and examples to explore the potential of crowdsourcing and public earth observation(EO)data products for monitoring and tracking the *** paper suggests that cloud-based services that integrate crowdsourcing and public EO data products provide cost-effective solutions for monitoring and tracking the SDGs,particularly for low-income *** paper also discusses the challenges of using cloud services and big data for SDG *** and quality control of public EO data is very important;otherwise,the user will be unable to assess the quality of the data or use it with confidence.

Access Control Policy Analysis and Access Denial Method for cloud services

In this paper, the cloud services optimization problem considering energy consumption cost is discussed. The queue model is presented for customer request service on data center. Since the server energy utility is based on the CPU core frequency, the novel trade-off optimization model between services revenue and energy loss cost is proposed in the paper, including allocating the dynamic CPU frequency of server. The HPSO algorithm is proposed for solving the mixed integer programming model. Then novel particle encoding substituting discrete variables and continuous variables efficiently improves solution quality. Finally, the dynamic penalty function method is discussed to convert the constraint optimization problem to non-constraint optimization problem.

Personal cloud computing is an emerging trend in the computer industry. For a sustainable service, cloud computing services must control user access. The essential business characteristics of cloud computing are payment status and service level agreement. This work proposes a novel access control method for personal cloud service business. The proposed method sets metadata, policy analysis rules, and access denying rules. Metadata define the structure of access control policies and user requirements for cloud services. The policy analysis rules are used to compare conflicts and redundancies between access control policies. The access denying rules apply policies for inhibiting inappropriate access. The ontology is a theoretical foundation of this method. In this work, ontologies for payment status, access permission, service level, and the cloud provide semantic information needed to execute rules. A scenario of personal data backup cloud service is also provided in this work. This work potentially provides cloud service providers with a convenient method of controlling user access according to changeable business and marketing strategies.

Over-the-top services and cloud services have created great challenges for telecom operators. To better meet the requirements of cloud services, we propose a decoupled network architecture. Software-defined networking/network function virtualization （SDN/ NFV） will be vital in the construction of cloud-oriented broadband infrastructure, especially within data centers and for intercon nection between data centers. We also propose introducing SDN/NFV in the broadband access network in order to realize a virtu- alized residential gateway （VRG）. We discuss the deployment modes of VRG.

Service composition is an important and effective technique that enables atomic services to be combined together to forma more powerful service,i.e.,a composite *** the pervasiveness of the Internet and the proliferation of interconnected computing devices,it is essential that service composition embraces an adaptive service provisioning *** learning has emerged as a powerful tool to compose and adapt Web services in open and dynamic ***,the most common applications of reinforcement learning algorithms are relatively inefficient in their use of the interaction experience data,whichmay affect the stability of the learning process when deployed to cloud *** particular,they make just one learning update for each interaction *** paper introduces a novel approach that aims to achieve greater data efficiency by saving the experience data and using it in aggregate to make updates to the learned *** proposed approach devises an offline learning scheme for cloud service composition where the online learning task is transformed into a series of supervised learning tasks.A set of algorithms is proposed under this scheme in order to facilitate and empower efficient service composition in the cloud under various policies and different *** results of our experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed approach for composing and adapting cloud services,especially under dynamic environment settings,compared to their online learning counterparts.

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to propose a model to map the on-premise computing system of the university with cloud computing for achieving an effective and reliable university e-governance(e-gov)***/methodology/approach–The proposed model incorporates the university’s internal e-gov system with cloud computing in order to achieve better reliability,accessibility and availability of e-gov services while keeping the recurring expenditure *** model has been implemented(and tested on a university e-gov system)in the University of Kashmir(UOK);case study of this implementation has been chosen as the research methodology to discuss and demonstrate the proposed ***–According to the results based on practical implementation,the proposed model is ideal for e-governed systems as it provided adequate cost savings and high availability(HA)with operational ease,apart from continuing to have the necessary security in place to maintain confidential information such as student details,grades,*** implications–The implication of this study is to achieve HA and to reduce the cost from using external clouds,mapping internal IT servers of the university with the external cloud computing ***/value–Because no established mapping model for universities has been provided for effective,low-cost,highly available university e-gov system,the proposed mapping model through this paper closes this gap and provides guidelines to implement a hybrid-mapped e-gov model for universities while keeping the recurring expenditure on cloud computing *** paper provides the perceptions of its adoption at UOK for achieving high reliability,accessibility and uptime of its e-gov applications while keeping the recurring expenditure on cloud computing minimal.

In recent years,cloud Computing has become popular to facilitate the use of Modeling and Simulation(M&S)***,there are still various issues to solve,including the structure constrain of chosen web service frameworks,the sharing of varied resources in the cloud,and the difficulties in reproducing *** show a new architecture based on cloud Computing and new modeling methods to deal with these *** layered architecture,called cloud Architecture for Modeling and Simulation as a Service(CAMSaaS),simplifies the deployment of M&S resources as services in the *** supports hierarchical resource services,experimental frameworks,scalable infrastructure and makes everything as a *** deploy varied M&S resources as services in the cloud,and build a Modeling and Simulation as a Service(MSaaS)middleware called cloudRISE to manage a variety of M&S *** also use the experimental framework concept to simplify the management of experiment *** present a case study for crowd evacuation application using the architecture.
