Lung cancer is a malignant tumor characterized by a rapid proliferation rate,less survivability,high mortality,and metastatic potential.This review focuses on updated research about the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)as an adjuvant therapy to lung cancer treatment and the mechanisms of TCM effect on lung cancer in vitro and in vivo.We summarized the recent 5 years of different research progress on clinical applications and antitumor mechanisms of TCM in the treatment of lung cancer.As a potent adjuvant therapy,TCM could enhance conventional treatments(chemotherapy,radiation therapy,and epidermal growth factor receptors[EGFRs]tyrosine kinase inhibitors[TKIs])effects as well as provide synergistic effects,enhance chemotherapy drugs chemosensitivity,reverse drug resistance,reduce adverse reactions and toxicity,relieve patients’pain and improve quality of life(QOL).After treating with TCM,lung cancer cells will induce apoptosis and/or autophagy,suppress metastasis,impact immune reaction,and therapeutic effect of EGFR-TKIs.Therefore,TCM is a promisingly potent adjuvant therapy in the treatment of lung cancer and its multiple mechanisms are worthy of an in-depth study.

Progress in medicine requires not only innovation and development in the medical field but also the integration of the technology of other fields into the medical field.As an important technological advancement,three-dimensional(3D)reconstruction transforms traditional two-dimensional images into 3D images that are more consistent with the physiological habits of human eyes.It has been applied to the bones,heart,liver,and maxillofacial area,promoting the progress of medical technology and surgeons.This paper introduces the progress of 3D reconstruction technology in the clinical application of pancreatic surgery,from the preoperative,intraoperative,and postoperative perspectives,as well as the education of young surgeons.It also puts forward new ideas for the further development of pancreatic surgery.

Multidisciplinary team （MDT） model is a diagnostic and treatment model characterized by interdisciplinarity, integration, centralism, individualization, and precision and is becoming more common in the management of complex malignancies. MDT emphasizes team spirit and a personalized treatment strategy according to the actual condition of each patient. A cooperative and effective multidisciplinary team is an important guarantee for delivering high-quality services to patients. Under the guidance of a medical humanistic concept, MDT provides reasonable, effective, convenient, and a full range of excellent quality medical service to patients. The MDT maximizes patient benefits, and it is the developmental direction for large-scale general hospitals. At the same time, the MDT is also an important measure to strengthen the core competitiveness of hospitals. Here, we introduce the clinical application of the model in tumor therapy as well as the current state and development in our hospital.

Gaofang(medicated paste),also known as gaoji in Chinese,is one of the eight dosage forms of traditional Chinese medicine.Originated in the Han and Tang dynasties,it is widely used in Shanghai,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,and Guangdong of China at present.It is generally believed that Gaofang can help reinforce deficiency,delay aging,and regulate the overall health status.Currently,Gaofang has been extensively used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.Based on the relevant literature and clinical experience,this article reviews the general situation and the clinical application of Gaofang as well as the common Chinese medicines in Gaofang for cardiovascular diseases.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical application of severe acute respiratory distress syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)specific antibody detection and anti-SARS-CoV-2 specific monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)in the treatment of coronavirus infectious disease 2019(COVID-19).The dynamic changes of SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies during COVID-19 were studied.Immunoglobulin M(IgM)appeared earlier and lasted for a short time,while immunoglobulin G(IgG)appeared later and lasted longer.IgM tests can be used for early diagnosis of COVID-19,and IgG tests can be used for late diagnosis of COVID-19 and identification of asymptomatic infected persons.The combination of antibody testing and nucleic acid testing,which complement each other,can improve the diagnosis rate of COVID-19.Monoclonal anti-SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies can be used to treat hospitalized severe and critically ill patients and non-hospitalized mild to moderate COVID-19 patients.COVID-19 convalescent plasma,highly concentrated immunoglobulin,and anti-SARS-CoV-2 specific mAbs are examples of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody products.Due to the continuous emergence of mutated strains of the novel coronavirus,especially omicron,its immune escape ability and infectivity are enhanced,making the effects of authorized products reduced or invalid.Therefore,the optimal application of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody products(especially anti-SARS-CoV-2 specific mAbs)is more effective in the treatment of COVID-19 and more conducive to patient recovery.

Sugemule-10,one of the traditional Mongolian medicine(TMM)formulae,is derived from Four Medical Classics(Vol.4)and composed of 10 Mongolian medicines.It is used to treat kidney cold,low back pain,urinary obstruction,kidney/bladder stones,and is the main prescription for kidney cold.The current research on Sugemule-10 is mostly focused on its clinical efficacy,and few papers are available upon its historical changes.Therefore,we systematically reviewed Sugemule-10 from the aspects of prescription source,prescription interpretation,efficacy evolution,and modern clinical applications.

Molecular basis and mechanism of action of Albizia julibrissin in depression treatment and clinical application of its formulae

Albizzia julibrissin is empirically used as an antidepressant in clinical practice.Preclinical studies have indicated that its total extracts or bioactive constituents exerted antidepressant-like responses in animal models,providing the molecular basis to reveal its underlying mechanism of action.While attempts have been made to understand the antidepressant effect of A.julibrissin,many fundamental questions regarding its mechanism of action remain to be addressed at the molecular and systems levels.In this review,we conclusively discussed the mechanism of action of A.julibrissin and A.julibrissin formulae by reviewing recent preclinical and clinical studies conducted by using depressive animal models and depressive patients.Several representative bioactive constituents and formulae were highlighted as examples,and their mechanisms of action were discussed.In addition,some representative A.julibrissin formulae that have been shown to be compatible with conventional antidepressants in clinical practice were also reviewed.Furthermore,we discussed the future research directions to reveal the underlying mechanism of A.julibrissin at the molecular and systems levels in depression treatment.The integrated study using both the molecular and systematic approaches is required not only for improving our understanding of its molecular basis and mechanisms of action,but also for providing a way to discover novel agents or approaches for the effective and systematic treatment of depression.

clinical application of vascular occlusion test based on tissue oxygen saturation monitoring

The vascular occlusion test (VOT) is an experiment that simulates the process of distal ischemia-reperfusion of tissue based on the monitoring of tissue oxygen saturation (StO2) to obtain VOT parameters related to StO2 changes to evaluate microcirculation function of the measured muscle tissue. VOT has the advantages of real-time, noninvasive and continuous, and is widely used to evaluate the functional status of peripheral microcirculation and the relationship between microcirculation changes and prognosis of patients. In clinical work, doctors mainly focus on hemodynamics of patients, while microcirculation function is often neglected due to the lack of real-time monitoring methods, which may lead to severe poor prognosis of patients, especially patients with critical illness. This paper focuses on the clinical application of vascular occlusion test based on tissue oxygen saturation monitoring.
