Clean-energy utilization technology in the transformation of existing urban residences in China

Clean-energy substitution technology for existing residential buildings in cities is an inevitable choice for sustainable development and low-carbon ecological city *** this paper,the current status of energy-saving renovation and renewable-energy applications for existing residential buildings in various cities in China was summarized by using statistical *** geographical distribution of clean-energy power generation in primary energy production in China was explored in *** to different climatic divisions for existing urban residences,clean-energy production and consumption were analyzed and predicted based on the STIRPAT *** results show that the energy consumption of urban residential buildings in 2016 increased by 43.6%compared with 2009,and the percentage of clean energy also increased from 7.9%to 13.4%.Different climatic regions have different advantages regarding clean energy:nuclear power generation leads in the region that experiences hot summers and warm winters,whereas wind and solar power generation lead in the cold and severely cold *** present results provide basic data support for the planning and implementation of clean-energy upgrading and transformation systems in existing urban residences in China.

Variability of leaf functional traits of invasive tree Rhus typhina L. in North China

Functional traits, specifically leaf functional traits, are core-topics to explore importance to the invasion success of invasive plant species. This study aims to address the differences in leaf functional traits and their corresponding variability of the invasive tree staghorn sumac Rhus typhina L. with different invasion success, including lower and higher invasion success, in two climatic regions in North China, including a warm temperate region and a cold temperate region. No significant differences were found for leaf functional traits of staghorn sumac across different invasion success. However, the variability of leaf chlorophyll and nitrogen concentrations of staghorn sumac under higher invasion success were approximately 66.023% and 68.615% higher than those under lower invasion success, respectively. The leaf chlorophyll and nitrogen concentrations of staghorn sumac in the warm temperate region were approximately 18.432% and 16.337% higher than those in cold temperate region, respectively. The variability of specific leaf area of staghorn sumac in warm temperate region was approximately 59.802% higher than that in cold temperate region. Accordingly, leaf chlorophyll and N concentrations as well as specific leaf area of staghorn sumac and their corresponding variability may play an essential role in shaping ecological success of studied invader along a climatic gradient.

Factors Influencing the Acidification Trends in Agriculture Soils: A Case Study of Slovakia

This study aims to evaluate the development of soil reaction values in 15 key localities of soil Partial Monitoring System from 1994 to 2023, and to identify the most important regional drivers of pH value development. Soil samples were collected from the depth 0 - 0.10 m yearly in the spring (5 samples from each locality). In the dry soil, samples were determined actively and exchanged soil reaction. The most significant negative changes (decreases of soil reaction) were determined in Haplic Stagnosols group and Cambisols group. The pH value in topsoil is primarily controlled by soil type and soil substrate, soil management and land use, and to a lesser extent by climatic region.
