In China,the connection between coal utilization and environmental pollution has been increasingly evident due to the rapid growth in energy *** coal technology(CCT)is one of the effective methods to address coal-associated ***,CCT needs the practical and theoretical support of clean coal geology(CCG).In this paper,a new definition of CCG is proposed,based on the definitions of coal,coal geology,and CCT,combined with the development of national *** is the discipline comprehensively researching the genesis,nature,distribution,cleaning potential,clean utilization and environmental effects of resources(coal,coal bed methane,and other coal-associated resources)that can be cleaned by *** research content of CCG is discussed from different aspects,such as cleaning potential evaluation,geological guarantee for coal mining,ash yields and sulfur contents,trace elements,pollution caused by coal,and mine *** progress of CCG in China is also briefly divided into four stages and ***,scientific problems in CCG are summarized and an outlook for CCG is given.

Progress of the technique of coal microwave desulfurization

With the advantages of its fast speed,effective and moderate controllable conditions,desulfurization of coal by microwave has become research focus in the field of clean coal *** is a homogeneous mixture which consists of various components with different dielectric properties,so their abilities to absorb microwaves are different,and the sulfur-containing components are better absorbers of microwave,which makes them can be selectively heated and reacted under microwave *** still remain controversies on the principle of microwave desulfurization at present,thermal effects or non-thermal *** point of thermal effects of microwave is mainly base on its characters of rapidly and selectly ***,in view of non-thermal effect,direct interactions between the microwave electromagnetic field and sulfur containing components are *** is a fundamental problem to determine the dielectric properties of coal and the sulfur-containing components to reveal the interaction of microwave and sulfur-containing ***,the test of dielectric property of coal is affected by many factors,which makes it difficult to measure dielectric properties *** order to achieve better desulfurization effect,the researchers employ methods of adding chemical additives such as acid,alkali,oxidant,reductant,or changing the reaction atmosphere,or combining with other methods such as magnetic separation,ultrasonic and *** in this field have also put forward several processes,and have obtained a number of *** of microwave desulfurization mechanism,uncertainties in qualitative and quantitative analysis of sulfur-containing functional groups in coal,and the lack of special microwave equipment have limited further development of microwave desulfurization technology.

Optimum High-Quality Ceramic Support like SiC, AI203 ＆ TiO2 for Cobalt as a Very Active Metal for Fisher-Tropsch-Synthesis in a Fixed Bed Reactor Configuration

A series of experiments were performed on indigenously synthesized catalyst pallets of cobalt as a very active metal on ceramic support like SiC, A1203 ＆ TiO2 in a fixed bed reactor configuration with an aim to study the catalyst activity ＆ selectivity, chemical kinetics, design flexibility, temperature, pressure by characteristics diffusion distance. Catalyst pallets were prepared and then characterized by N2 adsorption, X-ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope, and Temperature Programmed Reduction. The results showed the Brunaner, Emmett and Teller area of SiC was the lowest among the three supports prepared for testing. However, its reducibility showed improvement with use of cobalt acetate, as a precursor, rather than cobalt nitrates. Mechanical strength and behavior was checked by the hardness testing machine. Fischer Tropsch （FT） synthesis experiments were performed in the fixed bed reactor set at 450-500 K and 2.3-2.5 MPa using synthetic gas having HJCO ration = 2.0. FT synthesis showed that cobalt/silicon carbide catalyst gives high CO conversion and lower methane selectivity, compared to Co/A1203 and Co/TiO2, as well as high C5＋ selectivity of almost 90%. Moreover, its stability was enhanced by the addition of Zr02, as without this addition, the Co/SiC interactions are weaker and can cause carbon sintering, and thus, the deactivation rate to increase.

Integral Optimization of Systematic Parameters of Flip-Flow Screens

The synthetic index K s for evaluating flip-flow screens is proposed and systematically optimized in view of the whole system. A series of optimized values of relevant parameters are found and then compared with those of the current industrial specifications. The results show that the optimized value K s approaches the one of those famous flip-flow screens in the world. Some new findings on geometric and kinematics parameters are useful for improving the flip-flow screens with a low K s value, which is helpful in developing clean coal technology.
