Objective: To evaluate the effect of Shentekang Capsule (STKC) combined with peritonealdialysis (PD) in treating chronic renal failure (CRF). Methods: With single-blind, parallel control and random method, 60 cases of CRF patients were equally divided into 2 groups: (1 ) STKC group treated with combined therapy of STKC and PD; (2 ) control group treated with PD alone. The course of treatment were 1~ 2 months for both groups. Clinical manifestations, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, total protein and hemoglobin were observed before and after the treatment. Results: Blood urea nitrogen decreased in both groups after treat ment as compared with that before treatment significantly (P 0. 05 ). However, levels of serum total protein and hemoglobin of the STKC group after treatment were higher than those of the control group (P < 0. 01 ). Clinical manifestation in STKC group also showed more improvement after treatment than that in the control ***: STKC could improve nutritional state and quality of CRF patient's life treated with PD.

Objective: To explore the protective effect of Baoyuan Qiangshen Capsule No. Ⅱ (BYQS) and its mechanism in treating chronic renal failure (CRF). Methods: Sixty CRF patients were divided into 2 groups randomly, the treated group used BYQS combined with Lotensin and the control group administered with essential amino acid combined with Lotensin. Changes of renal functions and tubular labelled proteins were observed. Results: The markedly effective rate and total effective rate of the treated group were 63.3% and 93.3% respectively, and those of the control group were 30.0% and 56.7% respectively, the effect of the treated group was obviously better than that of the control group ( P renal function and enhance the effective rate in treating CRF.

Objective:To investigate the effects of different hemodialysis treatments on abnormal mineral and bone metabolism in patients with chronic renal ***:A random number table was used to divide 80 patients with chronic renal failure admitted to our hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 into 2 groups,with 40 cases in each *** A was treated with low-flux hemodialysis,and group B was treated with high-flux *** related indicators of mineral and bone metabolism of the two groups were ***:Before treatment,the blood calcium,blood phosphorus,intact parathyroid hormone(iPTH),type I procollagen amino terminal peptide(PINP),fibroblast growth factor 23(FGF23),serum creatinine(Scr)indicators of the two groups were *** difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);After treatment,the blood calcium levels of the two groups were higher than before treatment,the blood phosphorus,iPTH,PINP,FGF23,and Scr levels were lower than before treatment,and the blood calcium level of group B was higher than that of group A,while blood phosphorus,iPTH,PINP,FGF23,and Scr levels were lower than group A,the difference was statistically significant(Pchronic renal failure treated with highflux hemodialysis have better results,which can correct abnormal bone metabolism and improve Scr levels.

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal symptoms are common in patients with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,and these symptoms seriously affect patients'*** To assess the occurrence and factors influencing gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with uremia undergoing *** We retrospectively selected 98 patients with uremia who underwent regular hemo-dialysis treatment in the blood purification center of our hospital from December 2022 to December *** gastrointestinal symptoms and scores of each dimension were evaluated using the Gastrointestinal Symptom Grading Scale(GSRS).Patients were divided into gastrointestinal symptoms and no gastrointestinal symptom groups according to whether they had gastrointestinal *** factors that may affect gastrointestinal symptoms were identified by single-factor *** logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent risk factors for gastrointestinal *** Gastrointestinal symptoms included indigestion,constipation,reflux,diarrhea,abdominal pain,and eating disorders,and the total average GSRS score was 1.35±*** study showed that age,number of tablets,dialysis time,glucocorticoid,parathyroid hormone(PTH),combined diabetes mellitus and C-reactive protein(CRP)were independent risk factors for gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,whereas body mass index(BMI),hemoglobin(Hb),and urea clearance index were independent protective factors(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Gastrointestinal symptoms are mostly mild in patients with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,most commonly including dyspepsia,eating disorders,and gastroesophageal *** independent influencing factors mainly include the BMI,age,number of pills taken,dialysis time,urea clearance index,Hb,use of glucocorticoids,and thyroid hormone ***,CRP,and diabetes are clinically related factors influencing the occurrence of gastrointestinal symptoms,and targeted prevention can be perform

Objective:The study assessed the quality of life(QoL)and coping strategies of patients on hemodialysis in selected hospitals in Ilorin,Kwara ***:The study was a descriptive cross-sectional design using a quantitative strategy.A multistage sampling technique was adopted to select 80 *** data were collected using an adapted questionnaire including four sections:sociodemographic characteristics,hemodialysis stressor scale consisting of four stressors,Jaloweic Coping Scale consisting of eight coping strategies,and QoL consisting of four *** data were analyzed using SPSS version ***:Findings from the study revealed that 50%of the participants were between the ages of 18 and 39 years,40%of the participants have been on hemodialysis for 1-2 years,whereas 52.5%had hypertension as a comorbidity.A total of 12.5%,63.8%,and 23.8%of the respondents were categorized as experiencing low,moderate,and high stress due to hemodialysis,*** of the respondents revealed that 49.4%had no problem in self-care *** monthly income(χ^(2)=16.36,P=0.04)was observed to be significantly associated with coping strategies,whereas religion(χ^(2)=11.14,P=0.03)and frequency of hemodialysis(χ^(2)=10.26,P=0.04)were significantly associated with coping ***:All participants experienced stress at varying *** results in marked changes in the quality of patients’life,since it includes a number of modifications and restrictions,which affects patients’health *** study revealed a wide range of information on the psychological and physiological stressors of people under hemodialysis.

Background: chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), associated with a slow and progressive loss of kidney function over a period of several years, is an important clinical disaster with an increasing rate of morbidity and mortality especially in the least developed countries. Many hematological parameters are thought to alter dramatically during the course of the disease. These include white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Methods: We tried, retrospectively, to evaluate the peripheral blood hematological alterations in a group of patients undergoing hemodialysis in an eastern Sudan dialysis center to add local medical information. Results: Anemia (Low hemoglobin and hematocrit) was detected in 94% of the patients’ group. Mean Erythrocyte count (3.32vs.4.76 (×109/L)), Hemoglobin concentration (9.4vs.13 (g/dl)), Hematocrit (28.7vs.38.7 (L/L)) and platelet count (296 vs. 238 (×109/L)) were significantly lower in the patients’ group than in the control group (P-values Conclusion: Five out of eight studied parameters (Red cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean cell hemoglobin concentration, and platelets count) have shown a significant alteration in CKD patients. As the complete blood count (CBC) test is the most utilized test in clinical laboratory practice, these alterations may be considered as early indicators for CKD. Furthermore, all patients with CKD must be routinely checked for these alterations.

Isolation and Purification of Polysaccharides from Cordyceps minlitaris and Its Inhibition on the Proliferation of Rat Glomerular Mesangial Cells

The crude polysaccharide was obtained by means of the decolorization of porphyrized Cordyceps minlitaris stroma with organic solvent, extraction with hot water, precipitation in 80% ethanol, and protein removal with the Sevag method. After purification with Sephadex G-75, two of its components, CMP-1 and CMP-2, were obtained. Through the assay of gel chromatography and polarimetry, CMP-1 was identified as pure polysaccharide. The results demonstrated that CMP-1 had favorable oxidation resistance activity, which could scavenge not only oxygen-free radicals in the self-oxidation system of pyrogallic acid, but also the hydroxide-free radicals in the Fenton system. The study focused on the effects of low, medium, and high dosages of CMP-1 in rat blood serum on the proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells in vitro. Through MTT Colorimetric analysis, the activities were compared among the blank control group and the Niaoduqing positive control group CMP-1 and CMP-2. The results shows that CMP-1 was able to inhibit the proliferation of rat glomerular mesangial cells effectively. Therefore, CMP-1, one component of polysaccharides of Cordyceps minlitaris, was certainly a potential remedy for hyperplastic glomerular nephritis, whose antioxidant activity could slow down the process of chronic renal failure（CRF） to some extent.

Cytokines are essential mediators of immune response and inflammatory reactions. Patients with chronic renal failure （CRF） commonly present with abnormalities of immune function related with impaired kidney function and the accumulation of uremic toxins in addition to bioincompatibility of dialyzer membranes. During a hemodialysis （HD） session, cytokines are released mainly by monocytes activated by endotoxin-type compounds in dialyzer fluid, complement factors and direct contact with dialyzer membrane. The study included 15 CRF patients, aged 36.4 ± 2.9 years, on regular HD maintenance therapy for mean 68 ± 10 months and 15 healthy controls. It was designed to assess serum levels of a panel of inflammatory cytokines： IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α in CRF patients on regular maintenance HD before, 20, 60 and 240 minutes of a single HD session in parallel with C-reactive protein （CRP） as an additional parameter. CRP concentration was increased in HD patients when compared with healthy controls. The concentrations of IL-1, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α were increased, whereas the serum level of IL-2 was not altered during a single HD session.
