BACKGROUND： Changes in the cardiac autonomic nerve are considered to be important factors in the mechanisms of heart failure. It is possible to reduce or slow down nerve degeneration and necrosis, provided that patients take effective neuroprotectants during the early stages of heart failure. Moreover, it is possible to relieve the pathological process and reduce the risk of death. OBJECTIVE： To study the effect of growth hormone releasing peptide （GHRP） on cardiac cholinergic nerve fiber density distribution in a rat model of heart failure, and verify whether GHRP can ameliorate denervation. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A randomized controlled study was performed at the Key Laboratory of Anatomy, Harbin Medical University, between June and October 2009. MATERIALS： Fifty adult, healthy, female, Wistar rats, weighing （200± 20） g, were randomly divided into GHRP （n = 30）, model （n = 10）, and sham operation （n = 10） groups. GHRP-2 was made in Shanghai, China （batch No. z071212-03）. METHODS： Acute myocardial infarction was established by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery in the GHRP and model groups. Five weeks later, myocardial function was detected using color ultrasound electrocardiograph a successful marker of chronic heart failure models Ejection fraction 〈 60% was considered to be However, the left anterior descending coronary artery was not ligated in the sham operation group. Distribution of Autonomic nerves in Gall Bladder and Extrahepatic Biliary Ducts in Cats

The autonomic innervation of the gall bladder and theextrahepatic biliary ducts were studied on whole mount stretchpreparations and cryostat sections with acetylcholinesterase staining,glyoxylic acid induced fluorescence histochemical method andimmunohistochemical method. The cholinergic nerve of the gall bladder incats consists of subserous ganglionated plexus and submucousganglionated plexus. In the biliary ducts, the adrenergic nerves aredistributed in the subserosa and lamina propria along the blood *** adrenergic nerves surround the non-fluorescent neurons forming abasket-like structure. The density of adrenergic nerves and theconcentration of noradrenaline are higher in the collum than in the fundusof the gall bladder. The highest density of adrenergic nerves andconcentration noradrenaline are found in the cystic *** study revealed that there are 4 kinds ofimmunoreactive nerves, that is, vasoactive intestinal polypeptide, substanceP, L-enkephalin and somatostatin nerves distributed in the wall of thewhole bile duct system. They participate in the formation of nerveplexuses. Among the peptidergic nerves, vasoactive polypeptideimmunoreactive nerve is the richest, while the other 3 are rarely *** nerves are densely distributed in the sphincter of ***, the physiological significance of peptidergic nerves in the billaryduct system was discussed.

THE EFFECT OF ACUPUNCTURE ON PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF ISCHEMIC ARRHYTHMIA AND THE RELATION BETWEEN EFFECT OF ACUPUNCTURE AND cholinergic MUSCARINE-LIKE RECEPTORS

For investigating the effect of acupuncture on ischemic arrhythmia and its mech-anism, adult albino rats with ligated anterior descending branch of coronary artery as experimentalmodel were treated with or without acupuncture, and others with imitative operation but without bothcoronary artery ligation and acupuncture treatment were used as control. It was found in acupuncturegroup that the fibrillation-liability of ischemic myocardium was efficiently decreased, the affinity ofAch-M receptors on membranes of ischemic myocardium was markedly increased, and the tolerance ofischemic myocardium to atropine was elevated in the experiment of atropine inducing *** results indicate that acupuncture may play a therapeutic role on ischemic arrhythmia throughactivating the activity of muscarine-like receptors of cholinergic nervous system.
