Reconstruction of the diagenetic evolution of reservoirs is one of the most significant tasks in oil and gas exploration and *** the accurate timing of diagenetic events is critical to better understand the process of reservoir evolution,but the isotope dating of diagenetic events is technically *** paper uses three case studies in the sedimentary basins in China to demonstrate the promising application of recently developed LA-(MC)-ICPMS in-situ U-Pb *** results show that the new U-Pb dating method provides a reliable and efficient chronological approach to determine the absolute ages of diagenetic *** example,the U-Pb age data of the Cambrian carbonate reservoir in the Tarim Basin reveals three diagenetic events at 526±14,515±21,and 481±4.6 Ma,*** is worth noting that microscopic observations are particularly important for improving the success rate of U-Pb *** addition,the recent progress and future prospects in the in-situ U-Pb dating method are also discussed in this study,suggesting that this method is currently hindered by the lack of international carbonate standards for data correction.

Dolomite apatite separation by amphoteric collector in presence of bacteria

Bioflotation represents one of the growing trends to enhance the selectivity of conventional flotation processes. It utilizes the micro-organisms to replace or to interact with the chemical reagents to increase the gap between surface properties of similar minerals and to enhance the separation selectivity. In this work, dolomite-phosphate separation was investigated using amphoteric collector （dodecyl-N-carboxyethyl-N-hyroxyethyl-imidazoline） in presence of bacteria. Two types of bacteria, Corynebacterium- diphtheriae-intermedius （CDI）, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa （PA）, were used. The collector-bacteria interaction was characterized by Fourier transform infra-red （FTIR）, frothing height and Zeta potential. The results show that the collector-bacteria interaction improves the flotation selectivity. Although, the PA positively affects the separation results, the CDI cannot lower the MgO to less than 1%. A phosphate content of 0.7% MgO and 31.77% P205 with a recovery of 68% at pH 11, 3.0 kg/t amphoteric collector, 4× 10^7 cells of PA is obtained.

On the Unusual Holocene carbonate Sediment in Lake Nam Co,Central Tibet

In lacustrine sediments,aragonite is a widespread mineral,whereas monohydrocalcite is a rare carbonate mineral. In the cold and high-attitude Xizang (Tibetan) Plateau,where aragonite has been commonly found in lacustrine sediments,there is no aragonite,but low-Mg calcite,monohydrocalcite and trace dolomite. The lake receives solutes primarily from surface runoffs and remains fairly constant water chemistry for a long time. The total CaCO3 percentage in sediments could be controlled by evaporation and inflow of detrital materials. The absence of aragonite is unusual when compared to other lacustrine sediments from the Tibetan Plateau. This could be due to low Ca/Mg ratio,low salinity,low Mg and Ca concentration. Monohydrocalcite might precipitate from the lake water mediated by biological activities. Low-Mg calcite originated from minor ostracoda shell and the precipitation of lake water with biological activities.

The sandstone-hosted uranium deposits in the SW Songliao Basin differ from typical sandstone-hosted uranium deposits in terms of the geological features of the ore-deposits,including the geometry of the orebodies,mineral assemblage and *** drill core and microscopic observations,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron microprobe analysis(EMPA),heavy mineral concentrates,and fluid inclusion studies of the Upper Cretaceous Yaojia Formation,i.e.,the uranium-bearing layer,were integrated to investigate the roles of hydrothermal fluids in the formation of these uranium *** found that the kaolinite alteration is developed in the mineralized zones,but it is less common in the peripheral *** fluid inclusions are hydrothermal fluids with a medium-low temperature(67 to 179 ℃) and a high salinity(5.9 wt.% to 20.1 wt.%).According to the analyses,three kinds of hydrothermal fluids,i.e.,the acid fluid,the groundwater heated by the mafic magma,and the alkaline fluid rich in Ca^(2+) and CO_(3)^(2-),were *** fluids might have low U content,but they have participated in the formation of the uranium deposits *** formed by the acid-hydrothermal fluid absorbed large amounts of ***,the thermal energy from the hydrothermal fluids changed the intrastratal redox environment and increased the solubility of the uranium minerals in the *** alkaline-hydrothermal fluid rich in Ca^(2+) and C0_(3)^(2-) facilitated the formation of stable Ca-U(Ⅵ)-CO_(3) complex,which led to the enrichment of soluble uranium in solution,and final precipitation as pitchblende,brannerite and Ti-bearing uranium minerals in the uranium ores.
