Microparticle Effect of carbon dioxide hydrate Crystal Nucleus in Reaction Kettle

This study analyzed the partial effect of carbon dioxide hydrate in reaction kettle *** particle and bubble characteristics of the crystal nucleus during carbon dioxide hydrate decomposition were observed under the *** results showed that in the temperature range of 0.5℃–3.5℃,the pressure range of 3 MPa–5.5 MPa,phase characteristics in the reaction kettle changed in a complex fashion during carbon dioxide hydrate *** hydrate decomposition,numerous carbon dioxide bubbles were produced,mainly by precipitation at high temperatures or in the hydrate cage *** hydrate crystal nucleus initially exhibited fluidity in the ***,as the reaction progressed,the hydrate crystal nucleus migrated upward under the influence of gravity and carbon dioxide diffused into the aqueous ***,the hydrate was formed and accumulated,finally forming a solid carbon dioxide hydrate layer.

Texture,composition and properties of plugs formed by carbon dioxide hydrate and wax

Gas hydrates and wax are the major flow assurance problems for the transportation of produced hydrocarbons through ***,in most research works both these two problems are studied *** simultaneous precipitation or deposition of these compounds in pipelines can lead to different mitigation/prevention strategies,the investi-gations in which both these problems are considered simultaneously appeared only *** is no information in the literature on the texture/composition and features of decomposition process of mixed wax/hydrate *** the same time,this information could be useful to understand how to treat the problem of formation of these *** this work,three wax/gas hydrate plugs were collected at quasi-static conditions from a water-in-oil emulsion to study their texture,composition and the features of decomposition *** X-ray diffraction and IR(infrared spectroscopy)analyses showed that the plugs consisted of wax and gas *** and DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry)experiments showed that the main part of gas hydrate in the plugs at the ambient pressure started to decompose at about 268 *** temperature was higher than the equilibrium temperature of carbon dioxide hydrate at this pressure,indicating that the gas hydrate in the plugs could be effectively preserved at temperatures below the ice melting point(273.2 K).It was found through observation of the hydrate decomposition process in the plugs under the microscope that the gas in the samples released in small bubbles,while the hydrate particles were not visible at this magnification,indicating that the hydrate was indeed highly dispersed in the samples.A residual wax was jelly-like after decomposition of hydrate in all the *** experiments showed that the plugs residues after decomposition of the hydrates had higher yield points and viscosities than the initial waxy crude oil origi-nally used for the experiments.

In-situ observation for formation and dissociation of carbon dioxide hydrate in porous media by magnetic resonance imaging

The study of formation and dissociation of CO 2 hydrate in porous media was characterized by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system in in situ conditions. This work simulated porous media by using glass beads of uniform size. The growth and dissociation habit of CO2 hydrate was observed under different temperature and pressure conditions. The induction time and the hydrate saturation during the growth and dissociation process in different sizes of porous media were obtained by using the MRI signal intensity. The results indicate that hydrate growth rate and the induction time are affected by the size of porous media, pressure, and degree of supercooling. There are three hydrate growth stages, i.e., initial growth stage, rapid growth stage and steady stage. In this study,the CO2 hydrate forms preferentially at the surface of vessel and then gradually grows inward. The hydrate tends to cement the glass beads together and occupies the pore gradually. As the hydrate decomposes gradually, the dissociation rate increases to the maximum and then decreases to zero.

An equation of state(EOS) is developed for salt-water systems in the high temperature *** an example of the applications,this EOS is parameterized for the calculation of density, immiscibility,and the compositions of coexisting phases in the CaCl-HO and MgCl-HO systems from 523 to 973 K and from saturation pressure to 1500 *** available volumetric and phase equilibrium measurements of these binaries are well represented by this *** EOS is based on a Helmholtz free energy representation constructed from a reference system containing hard-sphere and polar contributions plus an empirical *** the temperature and pressure range in this study,the electrolyte solutes are assumed to be *** water molecules are modeled as hard spheres with point dipoles and the solute molecules,MgCl and CaCl,as hard spheres with point *** free energy of the reference system is calculated from an analytical representation of the Helmholtz free energy of the hard-sphere contributions and perturbative estimates of the electrostatic *** empirical correction used to account for deviations of the reference system predictions from measured data is based on a virial *** formalism allows generalization to aqueous systems containing insoluble gases (CO,CH),alkali chlorides(NaCl,KCl),and alkaline earth chlorides(CaCl,MgCl).The program of this model is available as an electronic annex(see EA1 and EA2) and can also be downloaded at:http://***/***.

A thermodynamic model to predict phase equilibrium of methane and carbon dioxide hydrate in aqueous electrolyte solutions is *** the Pitzer model to account for the variation of water activity due to electrolytes and dissolved gas in aqueous solutions,we extended the model based on ab initio molecular potential developed recently by us for the CH-HO and CO-HO binary systems to the CH(or CO-HO-salts *** of the model with extensive experimental data indicates that this model can accurately predict the phase equilibrium of CH hydrate and CO hydrate in various electrolyte solutions(such as aqueous NaCl,KCl, CaCl,NaCl + KCl,NaCl + CaCl solutions,and seawater) from zero to high ionic strength(about 6 m) and from low to high pressures.
