＜正＞ Mesoporous molecular sieves containing aluminum ions （Al-MCM-41） with Si/Al ratio equal to 30 were used to supported calcium borate （CaB4O7） by microwave irradiation method. The CaB4O7/ Al-MCM-41 （CBA1M） were used in the Ethoxylation as catalysts .The results show that CBAlM has higher catalytic activity than Al-MCM-41 and CaB4O7. The reaction is carried out at 120℃in the presence of 5% catalyst in relation to the octanol. The homologue distributions of ethoxylates were determined by GC and HPLC measurements and that showed the homologue distributions of octanolpolyoxyethylene ether were narrowed using the CBA1M catalyst for alcohols ethoxylation.

＜正＞ calcium borate used for non-pollution flux of ceramic decoration materials is synthesized by using boric acid and calcium carbonate as raw materials. The effects of reaction temperature, concentration, time, pH value and additive agent on synthesis of calcium borate are studied. The synthesized products are characterized by using DTA, XRD, TEM and SEM. The results show that the better conditions are: synthesis temperature is 80-100℃, the proportion of boric acid and water is 0.26 - 0.42 to l（mol）, the proportion of calcium carbonate and boric acid is 0.09-0.15 to 1（mol）, the pH value is 5 - 7, reaction time is 3hs. The synthetic calcium borate is non-crystalline with particle size of 0.1 - 0.2 μm, when being calcinated at 300℃, the main crystal phase is CaO·3B2O3·4H2O.

Hydrothermal synthesis,characterization and nonlinear optical effect of orthorhombic phase Ca_(2)B_(6)O_(11)·H2O

Hydrothermal treatment of calcium oxide and boric acid mixtures at temperaturesbetween 234 ℃ and 300 ℃ has produced a colorless, transparent, orthorhombic compound Ca2B6O11 · H2O. Of the seven known members of the series of hydrated dicalcium hexaborate containing boron-oxygen six-membered ring anionic group (B3O8)7, only the title compound has been found to have the nonlinear optical effect. The second harmanic generation (SHG) effect of its crystal is larger than that of KH2PO4 (KDP). The reflection spectrum has shown that this compound has no absorption in the experimental wavelength range (800-240 nm). Its crystal structure is favorable for generating the nonlinear optical effect.

Hydrated calcium borates are the useful chemical industrial materials not only used in glass,pottery and porcelain enamel industry but also used in the fire ***,the relatively large size of a metal borate as the flame retardant is hardly dispersed in a polymer matrix, which restrains its uses in *** addition,the morphology of material also greatly affects its ***,in the past few years,much attention has been paid to the preparations and applications of borates *** to now,there were a few reports on the preparation of calcium borates with *** this paper,two kinds of morphologies for calcium borate 2CaO ? BO ? HO nanobelts and fan-shaped 2CaO ? BO ? HO nanostructure constructed by nanobelts have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions at 180℃with CaCl,HBO and NaOH as raw *** the samples were characterized by the XRD,IR,and *** flame retardant properties of the prepared 2CaO·BoHO nanostructure were investigated by the thermal analysis *** experiments show that the smaller size of nanostructure and the more uniform morphology,the better flame retardant property of the sample.

In recent years, much work for the preparation of borate nanomaterials as flame retardant has largely focused on the zinc borates with nanostructures. However, very little research has been carried out on the flame retardant property of calcium borate nanomaterials [1-3]. calcium borate2 CaO·5BO·5HO nanoplate and nanosheet(Fig.1) have been prepared under hydrothermal conditions, which were characterized by the XRD, FT-IR, TGA, FESEM and TEM. The flame retardant properties of the prepared 2 CaO·5BO·5HO nanomaterials were investigated by a thermal analysis method(including TG, DSC and non-isothermal decomposition kinetics) and limited oxygen index method. With the decrease of TG mass loss(Fig.2), the decrease of heat release for DSC, the increase of LOI values, and the increase of apparent activation energy E a(It was obtained from the slope of Kissinger’s equation by plotting ln β/T versus 1/T, see Fig.3), the flame retardant properties of prepared 2 CaO·5BO·5HO samples are increased from nanosheets to nanoplates, which may be ascribed to the smaller size of nanoplates. The possible flame retarding mechanism has been proposed. It can be predicted that 2 CaO·5BO·5HO nanoplates could serve as a potential flame retardant.
