In this study the effect of single and multiple doses of bismuth on the metabolism and excretion of endogenous metals(Cu,Zn)was *** rats were administered bismuth chloride subcutaneously(1×3 mg Bi/kg or 7×3 mg Bi/kg).Rats were sacrificed at different time periods after bismuth *** levels of Cu and Zn were determined in the liver,kidneys and brain,as well as the concentrations of metallothionein(MT)in the liver and ***,Zn and total protein levels in the urine of control and exposed animals were ***,a histopathological examination of the kidneys and brain was carried *** increase in the renal and hepatic Cu and Zn content was paralleled by an augmentation in the level of MT in these organs following both kinds of exposure to *** changes in the ultrastructure of the kidneys were correlated with the dose of *** content in the brains of exposed rats was lower than in control animals brains,but there was no difference in copper level and no histological *** excretion of copper and zinc was higher in the exposed groups than in control *** presented results indicate that the disturbances in the metabolism of Zn or Cu in the liver,kidneys and brain and the increase in urinary output of metals may be a much more sensitive index than morphological damage and impaired renal function to the bismuth exposure.

The levels of substance P(SP)in rat brains were assayed in 64 *** common carotid ar-tery ligation was done in 49 *** an hour before ligation,25 rats were given 10 g/kg ofRSM;24 rats were given the same volume of normal saline as *** operation was donein 15 *** an hour and 3 hours after cerebral ischemia,the rats were quickly *** concentration was assayed in the cerebral cortex,caudate nucleus and brain ***-treated animals,the SP level of caudate nucleus at 3-hour group was significantly de-creased as compared with the 0.5-hour group and sham-operated group *** signifi-cances were found among RSM-treated groups and sham-operated *** SP levels wereshown:brain stemcerebral *** preliminary results suggest that SPmay be involved in the pathophysiologic procedures of cerebral ischemia and RSM mayattenuate the dysfunction of SP during cerebral ischemia.

Six brains of patients aged from 71 to 85 years of clinically and pathologically diagnosed senile dementia of Alzheimer type and six brains of age-matched controls (55-91 years) was used for this study. The retrosplenial cortex of these brains have been examined by Gallyas and Campbell-silver impregnations. Gallyas preparation showed a number of intracelluar pathological changes in retrosplenial cortex of demented individuals. Although the neuritic plaques, the neurofibrillary tangles and neuropil threads were seen in all lamina, their high density appear in lamina Ⅲa and Ⅴ of retrosplenialis lateralis (Rsl), retrosplenialis intermedia (Rsi), retrosplenialis media (Rsm) and parasplenialis (Ps). The retrosplenial cortex of non-demented individuals was almost devoid of neurofibrillary changes. The retrosplenial cortex of all demented individuals and one age梞atched controls showed a large amount of amyloid deposits in Campbell preparation, while two non-demented individuals showed only small amounts of amyloid. The amyloid deposition can be classified into three types. The packing of Campbell-argyrophilic material show area-specific and lamina-specific distribution.

In October 2023,a set of 21 papers published simultaneously in the journals Science,Science Advances,and Science Translational Medicine reported the largest,most-detailed maps to date of the cells making up portions of human and nonhuman primate brains[1,2].Accomplished by multiple large teams of neuroscientists in the United States and Europe,the collaborative effort also included the classification of 3300 different cell types in the human brain.

This paper analyzes the big trip phenomenon, restricting it to happen only in the context of the multiverse when the involved wormhole is asymptotically flat and recent criticisms are pointless. A new kind of Lorentzian asymptotically anti-de Sitter wormholes is considered in some detail and it is seen that such wormholes cannot contribute the big trip phenomenon. The ideas of big trip, multiverse and Boltzmann brains are then used to advance the conjecture of cosmic transmutation according to which the host universe where one of the mouths of a grown up wormhole is inserted may be converted into a universe similar to the traveling one if the latter contains a civilization which is typical also in the host universe. The origin of life in the context of the multiverse is then briefly discussed.
