Background and Purpose: It is crucial for clinical practice that how best to identify brain state of insomnia disorder using neuroimaging data with a focus on capturing the whole-brain dynamics over time and space. Based on the blood-oxygenation-level-dependent(BOLD) phase signals, to define brain state of insomnia disorder as probabilistic metastable substates(PMS) space by using leading eigenvector dynamics analysis(LEiDA).Materials and Methods: We enrolled 43 patients with insomnia disorder and 39 healthy subjects. The state of whole-brain synchronization was determined by the BOLD phase coherence matrix derived from Hilbert transform of BOLD signals, which were clustered using a k-means clustering algorithm to find the probabilistic metastable substate(PMS) space to characterize a given brain state with probability of occurrence and associated ***: The resulting 3 clusters were optimal for brain state of insomnia disorder and healthy brain state, respectively. brain state of insomnia disorder was represented by the PMS space, with a given probability of 0.2514 for PMS-1, 0.1221 for PMS-2, and 0.1219 for PMS-3, which were significantly smaller than that in healthy brain state. As well as the lifetime of 18.16 ms for PMS-1, 7.11 ms for PMS-2, and 7.33 ms for PMS-3, which were also significantly shorter than that in healthy brain state. The transition probability matrix of PMS space reflected the metastable nature of ***: brain state of insomnia disorder was accurately defined as an ensemble of probabilistic metastable substates(PMS) space with specific probability of occurrence and associated lifetime.

＜正＞Pyramidal neurons in different layers of the cerebral cortex send abundant dendrites into the superficial *** the present study,we investigated the functional implication of superficial layer neurons in the auditory cortex in terms of its influence on other cortical *** responses and spontaneous activities in the primary auditory cortex were recorded through in vivo intracellular recordings and multiple extracellular recordings in anesthetized guinea pigs,while electrical stimuli were applied to active neurons in different *** some cases,the firings of single neuron were manipulated by electrical pulses delivered by intracellular *** results showed that electrical stimuli changed the firing pattern of neurons that located in deep and superficial *** long lasting firing of single superficial layer neuron changed the global state of the auditory *** results indicate that the superficial layer plays a modulatory role in the cortex.
