Adaptive Reversible Visible Watermarking Based on Total Variation for BTC-Compressed Images

Few previous Reversible Visible Watermarking(RVW)schemes have both good transparency and watermark *** adaptive RVW scheme that integrates Total Variation and visual perception in block truncation coding(BTC)compressed domain,called TVB-RVW is proposed in this paper.A new mean image estimation method for BTC-compressed images is first developed with the help of Total ***,a visual perception factor computation model is devised by fusing texture and luminance *** adaptive watermark embedding strategy is used to embed the visible watermark with the effect of the visual perception factor in the BTC ***,a lossless embedding method of the encrypted visible watermark is exploited to deter illegal watermark *** visible watermark can be removed since the visual perception factor and the estimated mean image remain unchanged before and after watermark *** experiments validate the superiority of the proposed algorithm over previous RVW schemes in BTC in terms of the visual quality of watermarked images and watermark visibility,and it can achieve a good balance between transparency and watermark visibility.

An oblivious fragile watermarking scheme for images utilizing edge transitions in BTC bitmaps

As one of the famous block-based image coding schemes,block truncation coding(BTC) has been also applied in digital *** BTC-based watermarking or hiding schemes usually embed secret data by modifying the BTC encoding stage or BTC-compressed data,obtaining the watermarked image with poorer quality than the BTC-compressed *** paper presents a new oblivious image watermarking scheme by exploiting BTC *** the traditional schemes,our approach does not really perform the BTC compression on images during the embedding process but utilizes the parity of the number of horizontal edge transitions in each BTC bitmap to guide the watermark embedding and extraction *** embedding process starts by partitioning the original cover image into non-overlapping 4×4 blocks and performing BTC on each block to obtain its BTC *** watermark bit is embedded in each block by modifying at most three pixel values in the block to make sure that the parity of the number of horizontal edge transitions in the bitmap of the modified block is equal to the embedded watermark *** the extraction stage,the suspicious image is first partitioned into non-overlapping 4×4 blocks and BTC is performed on each block to obtain its ***,by checking the parity of the number of horizontal edge transitions in the bitmap,we can extract one watermark bit in each *** results demonstrate that the proposed watermarking scheme is fragile to various image processing operations while keeping the transparency very well.

A new classified vector quantization based on quadtree

A new algorithm of classified vector quantization based on quadtree segmentation is proposed. It can obtain lower bit rate and overcome edge degradation. Simulation results show that the better subjective image quality can also be obtained when bitrate is lower than 0.25 bpp. Comparing with JPEG, the improvement of the peak signal to-noice ratio (PSNR) is up to 2 dB at the same bit’rate.
